1911 Brasier 11/15 HP Runabout

Lot # 23

  • Well-documented history spending most of its life in the same family
  • Stored in climate-controlled environment
  • Lovingly maintained
  • Only minor imperfections noted
  • Clean engine bay
  • Leather in good condition
  • Runabout

Chassis #: 284
Engine #: 284-11C

Charles-Henri Brasier was part of the early automotive scene, working briefly with Panhard and then Emile Mors before, at the age of 35, building vehicles on his own account. He worked in partnership with Georges Richard, the two of them establishing the Richard-Brasier business in 1902. The company was based in Paris and actively built automobiles for a number of years, until financial difficulties forced them out of production in 1930.

This example is an 11/15 HP Runabout model that was purchased by coffee importer John A. Moir Sr. This was his first car, and he purchased it upon visiting the premises of Flandreau & Company of New York City, an importer of numerous early French automobiles. Mr. Moir drove the car back to Boston and taught his bride to drive. Mrs. Moir enjoyed the car for a number of years before she grew nervous of carrying her young children in a vehicle that had no doors. So her husband sold the car to Manuel DiFasio of Framingham, Massachusetts. The new owner removed the car's bodywork, which originally contained a 'dickey seat' and lowered the seats and steering wheel. Adding to the sporty flair, he added an American Schebler carburetor and Model T wheels and tires.

After World War II, John Jr., and his father John Moir Sr. went searching for the car. They found it in DiFasio's widow's hen house. The car was complete, but in need of rescuing. It was treated to a restoration. The missing rear of the body was replaced with a period-correct 'mother-in-law' seat, and the mechanical aspects were completely rebuilt. The lowered seat and steering column were left intact. Demountable rims were installed.

Later in life, John Sr. offered the Brasier to John Jr., who was living in Florida at the time. He turned down the offer due to concerns that it might be lost in a hurricane. The other children were offered the car, but they also declined the gift. So in 1978 it was given to the Larz Anderson Auto Museum of Brookline, Massachusetts.

In 1983, some of the museum's automobiles were offered for sale, and Mr. Moir Jr. was able to buy the Brasier back. A correct French acetylene tank, headlamps, and Zenith carburetor were found for the car, and the rims and tires were converted back to their original metric size. The original fenders were able to be recreated as well.

The car is powered by a 1551cc inline monobloc four-cylinder engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission with sliding gear. There are rear-wheel mechanical drum brakes and the wheelbase measures 98 inches.

This vehicle was later sold to an avid car collector and added to his personal collection in Lebanon, MO, Evergreen Historic Automobiles. It has been kept in a climate controlled environment and lovingly maintained ever since.

1911 Kelsey(MOTO) Model M Motorette

Lot # 24

  • Great color combination
  • High-quality restoration or immaculately maintained
  • Ready to be driven and enjoyed
  • Mechanically sound
  • Interior and top in very good condition

This little three-wheeler has cuteness written all over it. The color combination is perfect with the highly contrasting vibrant red body to the jet black chassis. The bright white wheels and nickel hardware draw your eye to the details. This car has received some love, either a full restoration or immaculately-kept through the years.

It displays many plaques from shows in the 60s in the New England area. We know it has been housed in a climate-controlled collection for some time now, although it does get driven on occasion. The 10-horsepower water-cooled, twin-cylinder, two-stroke engine should get you where you want to go in this lightweight vehicle. It is ready for the next owner right away as it needs nothing (except maybe a little air in the left front tire). It looks like a fun little motor scooter!

10 bhp, 72 cu. in. water-cooled opposed twin-cylinder, two-stroke engine, two-speed and reverse planetary transmission with chain drive, quarter-elliptic leaf-spring rear suspension, and mechanical brakes on both the driveshaft and rear wheel. Wheelbase: 74 in.

With a name as unforgettable as the cars he built, Cadwallader Washburn Kelsey set about building a unique automobile that would be less expensive than the Model T, and that he did when he built his Motorette with three wheels, rather than four. The Motorette's rear wheel was driven by a two-stroke, twin-cylinder engine, which was air-cooled on early models and later water-cooled, with the radiator mounted behind the engine. Rather than mixing oil with gasoline, as on later two-stroke engines, the Kelsey's oil and gasoline were supplied separately, with the oil supplied by a tank in the armrest to a four-way distribution center at the front of the driver?s seat. To keep the three-wheeler stable, Kelsey designed one of the first anti-sway torsion bars.

Kelsey and his Motorette were active in early endurance events. In 1909, he drove an air cooled model up Mount Washington in New Hampshire. After the car overheated and Kelsey had to spend the night in a halfway house, he changed to a water cooled engine, but this time with the radiator mounted behind the seat! In 1911, Kelsey's brother in law and a mechanic drove a Motorette from the factory in Hartford, Connecticut, to San Francisco. It took them from February until August to make the trip, but they made it. As Mr. Moir points out, They did not have many breakdowns, they were just in no hurry.

1912 Metz Model 22 Roadster

Lot # 27

  • Gorgeous Sapphire Blue with White accents
  • Beautiful restoration
  • Leather in good condition
  • Runs and drives
  • Needs very little to be perfect

This Model 22 Roadster has a striking Sapphire Blue and White paint scheme. The white pinstripes provide the perfect accenting to show off the body lines of this beautifully restored piece of art. The paint shows the quality of the restoration. The basic black leather seat and dickey seat are in very good condition. The engine could use a new upper radiator hose and a little touch-up paint but otherwise shows in good condition. The car runs and drives well. Really, it just needs a small amount of elbow grease to be back in top-notch condition.

Charles Metz was a bicycle manufacturer. His Waltham Manufacturing Company in Massachusetts made Orient bicycles, as well as chassis' for a considerable number of early automobiles. He left the company in 1901 after a tiff with investors. Eight years later, he bought it back, in a desperate financial state and with a huge inventory of parts on hand. Metz conceived the Metz Plan, by which customers could purchase packages of parts for $25 each and build their own cars, one package at a time.

In six months, with the steady cash infusions, Metz had retired the debts of Waltham Manufacturing and become an auto manufacturer in his own right, offering cars completely built. In 1912 a new Model 22, with a 22 hp four-cylinder engine, was introduced, but it retained the simple friction-drive transmission of the earlier vee-twin cars.

This Model 22 Roadster has been lovingly kept and taken care of in a climate controlled environment. It belongs to the Evergreen Historic Automobile Collection in Lebanon, MO.

1912 Benz 8/20 HP Tourer

Lot # 28

  • Best horn on a car ever!
  • Relatively recent restoration
  • Provenance is known, racing pedigree
  • Beautiful brass brightwork
  • Seats and top appear new since restoration
  • Car runs and drives

This particular example is a 1912 Benz 8/20 Tourer with coachwork by Thomson's Ply. Ltd. It is believed to have been part of a three-car group sent to Australia in 1913 to compete in a trans-Australian endurance race with Aussie sportsman Hugh McIntosh. During a practice run, one Benz was wrecked. The outbreak of World War I during 1914 forced cancellation of the race. The two remaining Benz remained in Australia until Daimler-Benz AG acquired one and made it part of its Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.

This example was later restored and participated in the 300-mile Mercedes-Benz rally commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Mercedes-Benz and its predecessor companies in 1986. It was later sold to Japan where it spent several years in a private collection until it was eventually sold and imported to the United States in the 1990s.

It the mid-1990s it was acquired by Rainer Wittich of New Orleans, Louisiana, during whose tenure the Benz was displayed for some time at the Mercedes-Benz USA headquarters. During the early 2000s, the Benz was displayed by Mr. Wittich at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance.

From 2006 to 2013, the 8/20 was owned by Robert Beckmann of North Carolina before coming into the care of its current caretaker. Since that time, it has been treated to a restoration.

This 1912 Benz 8/20 Tourer has brass bright work, an array of brass lamps, wood-rimmed steering wheel, Burgundy paint finish, black folding top, and button-tufted black upholstery. The engine is a 1950cc L-head four-cylinder unit berating through a Zenith carburetor and producing 20 horsepower (20 HP rated output and 8HP taxable output). There is a four-speed manual gearbox with shaft drive and a mechanical transmission brake with rear two-wheel parking brakes.

1912 Little Four Roadster

Lot # 29

  • Older restoration with rebuilt body
  • Interior and top in very good condition
  • Rare nickel-plating instead of brass in good condition
  • Runs and drives well
  • Lacks little to be returned to Concours level or enjoy as-is

This little gem wasn't really little for 1912, but it certainly stood out from the crowd of other Brass era cars with its nickel-plated accents, stained wood wheels, and contrasting tuxedo black and milky gray paint job. Sporting a four-cylinder delivering 20 horsepower to a three-speed manual gearbox, this lightweight will still get down the road. Two-wheel mechanical brakes still get the stopping done.

Overall, this car shows very well despite being an older restoration with a rebuilt body. The top and seats are in very good condition with no rips or tears but show it has been well taken care of but enjoyed. The engine bay also shows signs of use but can be returned to Concourse level with a little TLC. Whether you are looking for a driver or show car, this car can do both.

The Little Car Company of Flint, Michigan produced cars from 1912 through 1913. It was one of two cars William C. Durant had decided to build after being removed from his other company, General Motors. The Company was organized on October 30th of 1911 with the first automobiles appearing a short time later, in mid-1912.

Though they bore the name 'Little', the cars were not that much smaller than other production vehicles on the road at the time. The 1912 and 1913 four-cylinder Little cars had a wheelbase size of 90-inches. The six-cylinder 1913 Little Touring car was larger, at 106-inches. The companies name was from Durant's former general manager at Buick, William H. Little (who was a rather large man). Alex Hardy was placed in charge of the cars production and produced at the Flint Wagon Works, formerly the location for the production of the Whiting automobile.

The other venture Mr. Durant was involved with during this time was the Chevrolet, named after Louis Chevrolet. It's arrival was announced just a week after the Little Car Company. Production of the Little automobile began much sooner than the Chevrolet. A prototype version of the Chevrolet was shown in mid-1912 and upon its arrival, did not sit favorably with Mr. Durant. The Little sold for around $690 while the Chevrolet was estimated to sell for at least $2150. Reluctantly, Durant put the Chevrolet into production along with a six-cylinder version of the Little, price at $1285

Sales for the Little automobile were strong, while the Chevrolet's were slow. After just a few years of production, Durant decided to dissolve the Little Car Company, but integrate its strong-points into the Chevrolet automobile.

The Little automobile production lasted from 1912 through 1913 with around 3,500 examples created.

1914 Jeffery Touring

Lot # 30

  • Owned by Chet Krause of Old Car Magazine
  • Purchased in 2004 by Merrick Auto Museum
  • High-quality restoration
  • Kelly Green with Tuxedo Black fenders and Red accents
  • Black Leather interior
  • New, lined convertible top
  • Electric lamps and horn
  • USL Motor generator for battery

Thomas B. Jeffery is better remembered for his first automobile project, the Rambler, than for the one that bore his name. In fact, it was his son Charles who made the decision to change the family name to a brand in 1914. His father had died four years earlier, and it seemed appropriate to memorialize him with the new car. Strikingly modern, it featured a 40 hp monobloc four-cylinder engine and left-hand steering, and had a large, 48 hp six-cylinder companion. Intro-year production topped 10,000 cars.

The adventure was short-lived, however, in 1915 Charles set sail for France on the SS Lusitania. He survived the ship's sinking, but the experience left its mark. He retired in 1916 to spend the rest of his life in personal pursuits. The Thomas B. Jeffery Company was sold to Charles Nash, whose name subsequently appeared on the cars.

The Merrick Auto Museum purchased this Jeffery Four in 2004 from the collection of Chet Krause, long-time publisher of Old Cars magazine. Previous owners include well-known antique car personalities John Tornquist, Dr. Art Burrichter, and the late George Grew of New Bedford, Massachusetts.

A high-quality restoration, the car is attractive in medium green with black fenders. The seats are black diamond-pattern buttoned leather. The lined convertible top is new, and there is a Rain Vision two-piece windshield. Head, side, and taillamps are electric, as is the horn, and there is a USL motor generator for starting and charging the battery. The massive 48 hp six-cylinder engine is immaculate in its compartment, and the sliding-gear transmission has four speeds forward plus reverse.

With plenty of room for passengers and plenty of power for hills, it is the ideal tour car for the whole family.

1915 Pathfinder Daniel Boone Touring

Lot # 31

  • High-quality restoration
  • Running and driving
  • Sea-mist green with contrasting Kelly Green
  • Black leather interior in excellent shape
  • Dash and gauges expertly restored
  • Highly prized Daniel Boone emblem and eagle hood ornament

This seven-passenger Daniel Boone Touring Pathfinder is the epitome of what the Pathfinder name was known for - bright contrasting color schemes. In a time when every Ford owner could choose whatever color they wanted as long as it was black, this Sea-mist green over the contrasting Kelly green must have really stood out in town. The nickel-plated accessories also helped it stand out in the Brass Era along with the painted wheels.

This Pathfinder received a high-quality restoration and is running and driving. The eagle hood ornament, as well as the Daniel Boone grille emblem, are highly sought-after items and both are in excellent condition. The interior is pristine showing as a recent restoration with black leather seats and well-restored gauges in the dash with matching steering wheel. This one is ready to drive onto the show field with little work needed.

1916 Saxon Touring

Lot # 33

  • Excellent driver condition
  • Teal Green and rich black paint shows well
  • Top is like-new condition
  • Black leather tucked, pleated, and buttoned interior
  • Runs and drives
This 1916 Saxon Touring Car is in excellent condition. Sporting a Teal Green with rich black fenders and top with butternut yellow pinstriping to accent the wood wheels, it is stunning just sitting still. With the black leather tucked, pleated, and buttoned seats, who wouldn?t want to sit in it. Even the dash sports a leather wrap.
The interior is in very good condition and the gauges show well. The convertible top appears in like-new condition. A running and driving car, the engine could use a little cleaning to be Concours-ready but this just proves it can be driven. Devoid of all the brash brass of the time, this Saxon was built to drive and has been lovingly maintained.
The Saxon Motor Car Co. of Detroit was formed by Hugh Chalmers, H. W. Dunham, and Harry Ford. The first Saxon Four reached the American Automobile market in 1914.
The Saxon was built for a buyer who wanted a light car of good quality but well above the cyclecar level. But not necessarily a full size Touring Car.

1916 Scripps-Booth Model C Roadster

Lot # 34

  • Vibrant red paint and pinstripes on gloss black fenders

  • Dove Gray wire wheels

  • Offset tuck/roll/buttoned black leather seats in great shape

  • Top in excellent condition

  • Fast for its time; runs and drives

  • Shows well

Not all Brass Era cars were lavish. There were some like this Scripps-Booth that focused on getting the owner from point A to point B, quickly! Only a little panache is present in the use of vibrant red paint and pinstriping to contrast with the gloss black fenders. The Dove Gray wire wheels also set it apart from the heavy wooden wheels of the day.

The 20 horsepower coming from the four-cylinder Sterling engine could really move this sporty little roadster and probably is what caught the eye of Chevrolet to take over Scripps-Booth in the following year. The engine in this example shows signs of use but can easily be restored to show quality with a little TLC. Outside of that, this car shows very well with its tucked, rolled, and buttoned leather interior with its offset seating arrangement. Additionally, the top is in excellent condition. If you want a running, driving Brass era car that shows off the ingenuity of the time, this Model C is a terrific choice.

1917 Ford Depot Hack

Lot # 35

Canary Yellow and Oak Wood Exterior

20,278 Miles

Inline 6 Cylinder Engine

Manual Transmission

RWD

A variation in design of the Model-T, this car was intended to transport passengers and their belongings at busy train stations throughout the nation. Built for function and economy of operation it features a 4 cylinder, 20hp engine and a simple planetary transmission operated by foot pedals. The horn and lights were powered by a magneto. Wide open, it could reach a top speed of 42mph with 28 miles per gallon gas mileage. Henry Ford developed the assembly line technique for the construction of the Model-T chassis. Independent contractors would then build the body. These efforts to cut the cost of production were so successful that by 1919 sixty percent of all motor vehicles in America and one half of all cars operating in the world were Model-T Fords. The price of the Model-T Ford Depot Hack Express in 1917 was $800.

1917 Mitchell Six

Lot # 36

  • Beautifully restored

  • Well maintained, runs and drives

  • Excellent top

  • Gorgeous blue paint sets off the huge vibrant red wire wheels

  • Quality nickel gauges

  • Comfortable black pleated leather interior

1917 MITCHELL SIX SIX FIVE-PASSENGER TOURING
CHASSIS NO. 75659

The Mitchell automobile was built in Racine, Wisconsin in what was initially known as the Wisconsin Wheel Works, a bicycle manufacturer. A 1... horsepower motorcycle appeared in 1901. A number of experimental automobiles followed with production beginning in 1903. With its new product, the company's name was changed to the Mitchell Motor Car Company in 1904, and its first cars were two-cylinder, chain-drive runabouts. After experimenting with air-cooling and two-stroke engine designs, Mitchell began production of four-cylinder, shaft-drive and water-cooled cars by 1907.

A six-cylinder model was added to the product line in 1910, a year that total sales reached 5,000 units. Mitchell advertising stressed value and service, with the tagline "The Car You Ought to Have at the Price You Ought to Pay." A V8 engine was offered in 1916, but its complications lead to it being phased out hat year, with all Mitchells thereafter being powered by six-cylinder engines.

Mitchell was an upper mid range priced car. In 1917 the price of $1600 was more than four time that of the comparable Ford but was priced a few hundred dollars less then Cadillac V-8 range. Mitchell distinguished themselves in the crowded field of manufacturers of the day with their more sporting and distinctive bodywork. Their good value and looks made for a successful year in 1917 selling more than 10,000 units.

This handsome Mitchell has been beautifully restored and well maintained. The six cylinder chassis is fitted with very sporting five-passenger touring coachwork. The sides of the body wrap over the top giving a smooth and distinctive appearance. The windshield has a nice rakish bend to it and joins to the high quality leatherette top assembly. The dashboard is filled with bright nickel gauges and exudes quality. The fine leather upholstery has broken in nicely and is very comfortable. No doubt the best feature of this sporting Mitchell is the six big Buffalo wire spoke wheels. These 25" wheels transform the looks of the car and provide a reliable, true and quiet wheel package. Any roadside flats can be easily remedied with the twin Buffalo spares mounted at the rear. With the single center lock mechanism they can be changed in a flash, explaining their popularity on the racetracks of the day. Anyone who has struggled with conventional artillery wheels on roadside will appreciate this. Such a high-end option is seldom seen on cars of this period. The wheels combined with the smooth close-coupled bodywork add up to a very handsome and racy package.

Known to be capable and reliable cars this distinctive Mitchell would make an excellent "Nickel Era" tour car. The striking good looks of the sleek close-coupled coachwork, twin-spares, handsome Buffalo wheels, and ample use of nickel give this Mitchell the look of a car costing four times as much. With the market demand for nickel cars really building in the last 5 years this Mitchell is excellent opportunity to get an interesting and sporting entry to a fun community of touring.

1917 Roamer Model 6-54 Sport Touring

Lot # 37

  • Excellent high-quality restoration

  • Known for being highly-dependable cars

  • Rare Hickory Knocker front bumper

  • Interior appears in like-new condition

  • Headlamps in terrific shape

  • Top looks brand new

Here is your chance to get your hands on Americas Smartest Car (according to the advertising of the day). Equipped with two spark plugs each on its Rutenberg six-cylinder, this Sport Touring Roamer was built to last ? and apparently to someone specifications, as all Roamers were assembled cars built to order. The owner of this Roamer chose a minty green with pale, butternut yellow wire wheels and a pleated saddle leather interior. It is a beautiful, tasteful combination that reflects the richness Roamer was trying to exude.

The Hickory Knocker front bumper stands out against the mossy green and is a rare piece (for obvious reasons). Overall, this vehicle is in excellent condition, being restored to a high-quality sometime in its past and lovingly cared for since. The seats appear to be barely broken in, but this car has been and can be driven. The Roamer was known for its reliability on the road, we have no doubt this one has lasted this long because of that reputation and some attentive caretakers.

1917 Saxon Model B5R Roadster

Lot # 38

  • Stored in a humidity-controlled environment

  • Presents well mechanically

  • Top is functional and in good condition

  • Dove Gray/Mint Green with matching wood wheels

  • Interior in great shape

Founded in Detroit, MI in 1914, the Saxon Motor Company produced and sold vehicles through the 1923 model year before financial issues forced its demise. Initially the Saxon was a lightweight, two-seater roadster powered by a four-cylinder Continental engine, with a sedan and six-cylinder motors available in later years. In the company's inaugural year, a Saxon car traversed the distance between New York and San Francisco in a span of 30 days which was quite a feat for the time! In only three years total production of all Saxon models reached 28,000 units, making the company the seventh largest car manufacturer in the United States.

This 1917 offering is an excellent example of an older restoration that has spent years in humidity-controlled storage, presenting well mechanically and in appearance with modest flaws. Appointed in two-tone grey and green livery with matching green interior, this model features a three-speed manual gearbox. Wood spoke wheels matching the green body color are wrapped with whitewall tires. The black top is functional and is in good condition.

This 1917 Saxon Model B5R Roadster would be a valued asset to any collectors portfolio and a great vehicle to build a collection around.

FUN FACT: George Olsen, band leader for the popular Jack Benny radio program, drove a Saxon and mentioned it on air!

  • Largely original car with mild restorations as needed
  • Runs and drives great
  • Fresh interior and top
  • Very good overall condition

This rare Highway Six has survived in nice order. A largely original car that has seen some restoration along the way, it runs well and is good fun to tour around in. The car has a tight feel you would expect out of a well-cared for and likely never torn apart old car.

The interior and top has been re-trimmed and the car includes a set of side curtains. The National has many charming details not typically found on similar cars.

This is a nice, good quality touring car from one of the great names in early American motoring, all at a very reasonable price.
Please note this car is titled under the number 4822 which is found on its engine.

1921 Oldsmobile Touring "LHS Car"

Lot # 46

This particular example boasts a stunning yellow on black livery that is sure to turn heads wherever it goes and stand out in any crowd.  The decals are prominent all over the car but made of vinyl and can be easily removed.  The hand pinstriping is tasteful and complimentary rather than obtrusive.  The nickel brightwork is presentable.  While the leather interior is showing its age, the top was replaced and looks untouched by weather.  The entire car presents well.  Under the hood a 12-volt alternator has been added for charging reliability on those long tours and parades at low RPM.  As evidenced by the video, the car starts, runs and drives well.

The turn of the 19th Century was a time when the United States' fast-growing auto industry attracted talented engineers in droves. One such was Robert Craig Hupp, whose early career had included spells with Olds, Ford and Regal. Introduced at the Detroit Auto Show in February 1909, the first Hupmobile was a racy-looking two-seater runabout on an 86" wheelbase - the Model 20 - that was powered by a 20hp four-cylinder engine and priced at $750. Production began in the US auto industry's - and Robert Hupp's - hometown of Detroit, Michigan in March 1909. Output totaled a little over 1,600 cars by the year's end and more than trebled the following year.

In November 1910 a Hupmobile tourer set off on an around-the-world trip, visiting 26 countries, and on its return to Detroit in January 1912 had covered some 48,600 miles, garnering much valuable publicity. By this time Robert Hupp had left the company following a disagreement with his business partners. Nevertheless, Hupmobile's success continued unabated, aided by the introduction in 1912 of a new 32hp four-cylinder car on a 106" wheelbase, the Model 32. 11,649 were sold in 1913 alone and the Model 32 would remain a fixture of Hupmobile's range until the 1916 line-up was announced. For many years Hupmobile, like Dodge and Chevrolet, built nothing but four-cylinder cars, the last of the line being the Model R manufactured from late 1917 through to 1925.

1922 Lincoln Sport

Lot # 48

  • Sapphire Blue over Tuxedo Black
  • Leland-built shortly after Ford absorbed Lincoln
  • Beautiful nickel-plated headlights and taillight bezels
  • High-level restoration and well-maintained since
  • Runs and drives well

This Sapphire Blue and black Sport Phaeton is subtly gorgeous! It is one of the first Lincoln's produced after Ford absorbed the company and still wears the Leland-Built badging on the grille, running boards, and hubcaps. The styling of this Phaeton is defined as conservative, but the color probably made a good enough statement on its own in its time. Subtle queues like the wreathed nickel bezels on the headlights and taillight, and nickel bezels for the dash gauges provide the right amount of flash.
It is obvious this car has had a high-level restoration in the past and been lovingly maintained since. It runs and drives, the paint shows very well, and the interior shows just the right amount of distress to show it has been used. The walnut wood behind the front seat with dual glove compartments is exquisite. The dash gauges and knobs are in impeccable shape given their age. The engine bay is clean and shows off the Leland-designed, 90-horsepower V8 flathead. We would not hesitate to hop in this car and drive it to the ice cream parlor tomorrow.
