L.C. Smith Crass Model E Grade Double Barrel Hammer Shotgun, #17105. 10 ga. 32" concave rib Damascus barrels have 2-7/8" chambers and are choked approx. IC./Mod. The action lockup is via Greener crossbolt, and the double hammer/double trigger action functions well; lockplates and receiver are lightly engraved. The splinter forend and half pistol grip buttstock are "B" Grade walnut, with an ebony forend tip and L.C. Smith buttplate. Mfg'd in early 1890s. Condition is antique good to very good, with the wood showing extensive field use. Metal shows some wear, but the action still locks up tight for this 10-lb. gun. Est.: $450-$600. (Antique)

Remington Model 1889 Grade 1 Hammer Side-by-Side Shotgun, #201830. 12 ga. 30" solid rib de-carbonized steel barrels have 2-3/4" chambers and are choked Full/Full. The sidelock action features double hammers and triggers, no safety, and plain extractors. The splinter forend and round knob pistol grip buttstock are oil-finished "B" Grade walnut and feature an ebony forend tip and original Remington buttplate. Mfg'd 1900. Stock dimensions are 14.25"x2"x3". Condition is very good, with approx. 40%-50% case color on receiver/locks, and numerous handling marks to wood. Baker Batavia Leader Model Side-by-Side Shotgun, #16192F. 12 ga. 28" concave rib steel barrels have 2-3/4" chambers and are choked Mod./Full. The sidelock action uses a crossbolt lockup and features two triggers, an automatic safety, and plain extractors. The receiver, top tang and locks are casehardened. The standard size forend and pistol grip buttstock are oil-finished Field Grade walnut, with a black plastic grip cap and "H&R" buttplate. Stock dimensions are 14-1/4"x1-3/4"x3". Mfg'd 1920s. Condition is good, showing little field use. Receiver and sidelocks retain approx. 80%-90% case colors, and the barrels retain 90% dark blue. Wood does exhibit many handling marks, plus some bearing wear at the junction with the lockplates. Action still closes tight and functions correctly; bores are bright. Est.: $650-$800. (C&R)

Syracuse Arms Side-by-Side Shotgun, #25150, 12 ga., 30" Damascus steel barrels with full-length filed solid rib, blue finish, checkered hardwood two-piece pistol grip stock, brass bead front sight, double triggers, extractors, matching visible serial numbers, tang mounted safety, legible factory markings, with the right barrel marked "IMPROVED DAMASCUS". Shotgun is in good overall condition, the metal surfaces having gone to a mixture of dark patina and traces of old original finish with indentations and scrapes along both barrels; the muted damascene pattern is still visible. Receiver shows considerable old finish with edgewear and light surface erosion. Bottom metal has drifted to brown patina with edgewear and lightly engraved screw heads. Stock is in fair condition with indentations, scratches and mars, with a splinter forend. Wrist shows a complete break that has been repaired. Butt ends with a Pachmayr ventilated rubber pad, providing a 14.25" LOP to the front trigger. Bores are good and the action appears to be tight on face. Est.: $200-$400. (C&R/PPT)

Montgomery Wards Western Field Deluxe Side-by-Side Shotgun, #19661, 12 ga., 30" barrels with full-length solid rib, blue finish, checkered hardwood two-piece pistol grip stock, steel bead front sight, double triggers, tang-mounted safety, auto ejectors, choked Full/Mod., with legible factory markings. Mfg'd 1930. Shotgun is in very good overall condition, retaining considerable thinning blue finish, drifting to dark patina with scrapes, mars, and indentations along the barrels. Receiver shows traces of original finish going to patina, with game scenes depicting retrievers on both sides. Stock is in good condition, showing heavy use with indentations, scrapes and bruising consistent with years of field use. Splinter forearm releases with a push button. Butt ends with a replacement black spacer and is covered by a U.S. Ordnance Flaming Bomb marked rubber slip cover, providing a 14.25" LOP to the front trigger. Bores are very good and the action appears to be tight on face, locking securely. Built by Ithaca as a Lefever Nitro Special Ejector, these shotguns were trade branded for retail for stores like Montgomery Wards in the 1930's. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R/PPT)

Winchester Model 1887 Lever Action Shotgun

Winchester Model 1887 Lever Action Shotgun, #43418, 12 ga., 30" barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, smooth hardwood two-piece stock with plain pistol grip, brass bead front sight, and clear factory markings. Mfg'd 1892. Shotgun is in good overall condition, the metal surfaces having gone to gray patina, with traces of original finish in the protected areas. Barrel and magazine are gray with darker spots and areas of light scattered surface erosion. Receiver shows a mottled appearance with the color case hardening having silvered out. Lever assembly displays some old smoky color case hardening, becoming more pronounced in the protected areas. There is a crisp "WRA" emblem on the left side of the receiver. Stock is very good showing moderate to heavy use with indentations, scuffs and some staining around the perimeter of the buttplate. Butt ends with a checkered steel buttplate with correct widow's peak at the top, providing a 13" LOP. Bore is good with scattered light pitting and even erosion the length of the barrel. Action has a short recoil operation, like the Model 50, and is enclosed in an alloy receiver to decrease weight, and is lightly engraved with game scenes. The standard forend and pistol grip buttstock are of Field Grade walnut, oil-finished, with adequate checkering and correct Winchester buttplate. Mfg'd approx. 1965. Copy of operation instructions are included. Condition is very good, with some delamination on receiver and possible start of split near toe of buttstock. Receiver has been cleaned at some point, leaving a light gray patina with scattered surface erosion. There are legible Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver. Stock is good with minor indentations, scratches and small marks. Buttstock has been shortened and ends with black/white spacers and a Whiteline ventilated rubber recoil pad, providing a 13.75" LOP. Lot includes an additional Remington marked 30" vent rib barrel in blue steel marked "Magnum" for 3" shells with a Full choke in very good condition, with a very good bore and an extra buttstock, wrapped in brown paper. Shotgun is very good overall condition, retaining 90%-92% thinning factory finish, with wear at the muzzle, scratches, and modest edgewear along the barrel. The "One of Three Thousand" was made in 1980 only, and has a 12 ga. 28" vent rib barrel choked Mod. with a 2-3/4" chamber. The action is a Standard Model 1100 gas auto, and the receiver is elaborately engraved, with gold-washed guns and hunting scenes. The full forend and pistol grip buttstock are satin-finished "C" Grade walnut, with extensive checkering at 22 LPI, wooden grip cap, and original Remington butt pad. Stock dimensions are 14"x1-1/2"x2-1/2". Included with the gun is the original cardboard case and sleeve in fair condition with most paperwork. Condition is like new, appearing unfired. The finger-groove beavertail forend and pistol grip buttstock are high-gloss finished "B" Grade walnut with no grip pad but has original Browning Whiteline recoil pad. LOP is 14-1/2". Mfg'd in 1985 by Miroku in Japan for Browning. Condition is very good to near excellent for this lightly-used Field gun. There are almost no marks to the wood and almost no wear to the action, which closes very tight and functions perfectly. Bluing is near perfect and bores are mirror bright. Est.: $900-$1,200. The finger-groove beavertail forend and pistol grip buttstock are "C" Grade walnut with excellent checkering. A blue metal Winchester grip cap, and a Winchester Whiteline recoil pad. Stock dimensions are 14-3/4"x1-3/8"x1-5/8". Mfg'd 1970s. Gun includes a red semi-hard case with Winchester markings. Walther Model 9 Vest Pocket Semi-Automatic Pistol, #624051, .25 ACP cal., 2" barrel, nickel finish, checkered black plastic two-piece grips with center medallion, low-profile blade front and fixed U-notch rear sights, heel magazine release, 6-rd. Walther marked magazine, clear factory markings and no visible import marks. Mfg'd 1921-1945. Pistol is in fine overall condition, retaining nearly all of the toning nickel finish, with light scratches, dried oil that should clean, and light corrosion at the right rear of the slide. Right side of the trigger guard shows a couple areas of flaking nickel finish with dark metal underneath. Grips are very good with staining and warping beginning at the bases. Late Beretta Model 1934 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #G40783, .380 ACP cal., 3.38" barrel, blade front and fixed rear sights, ring hammer, high-polish blue finish, textured plastic Beretta marked two-piece grips, lanyard loop, blue steel unmarked magazine with finger extension. Mfg'd post-1946 based on the serial number prefix. Pistol is in fine overall condition, retaining 90%-95% high-polish blue finish, with modest holster wear, light wear at the muzzle and scratches. Ringed hammer shows muted color case hardening. Markings are sharp with a crown over lion at the left rear of the frame. Left side of the slide is unmarked. No visible import marks noted. The textured plastic grips are very good and fit well. Action functions well, bore is very good with defined rifling. Est.: $500-$700. (C&R)
