Civil War-Era Spencer Model 1865 Lever Action Carbine, #22584, .50 RF cal., 20" barrel marked "M-1865" at breech. Distinctive receiver with back-action lock is marked "Spencer Repeating/Rifle Co. Boston, Mass./Pat'd. March 6, 1860" over chamber, "22584" to rear, has operating lever that drops open breech to receive cartridges from 7-shot magazine tube in buttstock, left-side sling ring and bar. Oil-finished tapered forearm has a single band, matching straight buttstock a lug for sling swivel (missing) at belly and crescent buttplate with door opening to mag. Mfg'd 1865-66. Condition is very good retaining no factory finishes but gray gunmetal having scattered moderate erosion, good edges and markings. Stocks are sound having generally light marks of age and military use incl. a 3" crack at right buttstock, both have added varnish. Antique Belgian SXS Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun, NVSN, 12 Ga., 33.75" twist barrels marked "LePage a Liege" on top rib, back-action locks have unique safety levers ahead of exposed hammers. Walnut stock with splinter forend has basket weave-type carving at wrist with carved finger spur, graceful cheekrest, German silver fittings incl. trigger guard, shotgun buttplate, 2 oval barrel key escutcheons, nose piece. Two iron ferrules retain the brass-tipped hardwood ramrod. Condition is good, the barrels dark brown showing twist grain and moderate erosion, else dark metal with pitting in nipple areas, age toned silver. Stock is sound and smooth with lovely grain and color, added varnish. Actions are smooth, bores have overall roughness. Est.: $400-$600. (Antique)

Forehand & Wadsworth Top-Break Breechloading Rifle, #22500, approx. .65 CF cal., 33-1/8" round-to-octagonal barrel has silver (?) bands at muzzle and cannon-turning at juncture which also has 3 patterns of 4 silver dots and an "X" on flats, a 1" vacant gold inlay near breech, a small (swivel?) stud underneath and a vacant slot 9" behind it (perhaps for another stud). Frame has front barrel hinge, a shotgun-style top barrel release lever, side hammer, and is marked "Forehand & Wadsworth/Worcester, Mass./Patented Aug. 26, ?81" at left side. Plain walnut splinter-type forend, matching pistol-grip buttstock with flat steel buttplate. Mfg'd ca. 1880s-90s in small qty. Condition is very good showing a bluish-brown tone to barrel, 80% nickel with scattered oxidation, good edges and fine markings. Stocks are sound and smooth with generally minor age and use marks. Action is crisp, barrel hinge tight, bore is clean with light roughness in grooves and strong, straight rifling. Est.: $400-$600. (Antique)

Civil War Plant's Mfg. Co. Front-Loading Single Action Army Revolver, Third Model-Type I, #2501, .42 cal., 6" octagonal barrel marked "Plant's Mfg. Co. New Haven, CT." on top rib and "Merwin & Bray New York." at left side flat; 6-shot cylinder marked "Patented July 12, 1859 & July 21, 1863" on circumference, was later bored thru to accept rimfire cartridges. Brass solid frame has full-length top sighting groove, integral right-side ejector rod assembly, spur trigger sheath and straps with 2-pc. varnished rosewood grips. Mfg'd mid-1860s in estimated quantity of 7,300. Condition is very good retaining no original blue but gray gunmetal, having scattered light erosion and age and use marks with fine edges and generally clear markings; clean, sharp brass retains 15%-20% original silver. Grips are sound and smooth with a couple chips at left butt and 4 "kill" notches at right. Action is crisp, lockup tight, bore is bright with very good rifling. These revolvers used proprietary front-loading cup-primed cartridges to evade S&W's Rollin White patent for bored-thru cylinders. Lot includes spare hammer, internal springs, related articles. Antique Heavy Barrel Percussion Halfstock Plains Rifle, NVSN, .44 cal., 41" octagonal barrel, hooded Beach-type front sight (but without reticle or blade), dovetailed 15.25" rail probably for a telescopic type rear sight, and a full-length under-rib with 3 ferrules retaining the plain hickory ramrod. Flat lockplate, double set triggers. Walnut halfstock has German silver furniture incl. trigger guard with finger rest, crescent buttplate, 1.75" vacant nameplate at right butt, 2 oval barrel key escutcheons. Pewter nose cap. Made ca. mid-1800s. Condition is good, the barrel with a smooth bluish-brown finish, lightly rusted lock, hammer and nipple area, toned silver. Stock is sound and smooth with what appears to be much original finish. Hammer has had a weld repair, front sight and ramrod are modern replacements. U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Single-Shot Infantry Rifle, #481489, .45-70 Gov't. cal, 32-5/8" barrel marked "V/P/(eaglehead)/P" and "A" at breech, has block-blade front sight/bayonet lug and Buffington rear marked "R". Low-arch breechblock marked "U.S./Model/1873" at hinge was used up from earlier stock but is correct, lock has usual markings and standard steel fittings. Oil-stained walnut fullstock has 2 bands (upper with stacking swivel). Mfg'd ca. 1886-91. Condition is about good+, the barrel and trigger guard painted black showing wear and scratches, trapdoor dark, else smooth blue-brown gunmetal. Stock is sound and generally smooth with several small patches of filler, lacks inspector cartouche, buttplate and ramrod. Action is crisp, bore shows overall light roughness and strong rifling. Std. iron fittings incl. buttplate marked "US", upper band with stacking swivels, walnut stock marked "R.M. 41." at right butt, 2 encircled "P" proofs at belly, "SWP/1881" inspector's cartouche opposite lock. Condition is very good as configured, the barrel shortened from 32-5/8", the forestock shortened accordingly with 2" sliver at right nose, the metal with traces of blue but mostly smooth gray gunmetal. Interesting Belgian Pinfire 6-Shot Pocket-Size Revolver, #11527, .36 cal., 5" barrel, heavy dark brown and gray finish with blued cylinder, bag-style walnut grips. Markings include "(crown)/V", "(crown)/G" , and Liege proofs displayed on the rear round of the cylinder; right side of barrel flat at the breech displays a stamped "CSA" and a small "(crown)/V", with a partial "CSA" stamped on the right lower side of the frame behind the serial number. Condition is overall fair to good as un-cleaned, displaying an even coating of erosion and moderate rusting and pitting to metal surfaces. Cleaning pin usually found in the butt strap is missing. Walnut grips are overall good showing minor old mars and scratches from carry and storage. There are varying opinions expressed concerning the authenticity of such CSA markings. These appear period correct but the buyer needs to form their own opinion. We cannot attest to the authenticity of this specific revolver. Est.: $700-$900. (Antique)

Model 1842 U.S. Springfield Percussion Musket, NVSN .69 cal., 42" round barrel, mixture of bright and brown finish to iron metal parts, smooth wood stock is full length and displays old varnished finish. Markings include "SPRING/FIELD/1847" on the back of the lockplate with a Spread American Eagle over "U.S." on the front side of the lockplate. "1845" is stamped on the upper rear barrel tang; there is a "U.S." on the top of the buttplate; a "V/P" over an Eagle Head on the left side of the barrel at the breech, and an "L" on the left sideplate securing base with a "C" on the rear securing screw. There are three "A"s and "3 4" stamped on the left side of the buttstock. Mfg'd ca. 1847. The overall condition of this U.S. Musket is good, showing an uncleaned gray patina mixed with areas of brown in about a 50%-to-50% coverage. The smooth varnished wood stock is overall fair+ to good displaying scattered mars, dings and scratches from carry, handling and storage with considerable older varnish finish remaining. Action is crisp and strong, bore is dark, and the markings on this rifle are sharp. Est.: $750-$1,000. (Antique)

Beveled lockplate with pointed rear is marked "(Federal Eagle)/US" ahead of hammer, "Harpers/Ferry/1834" vertically behind, has remnant of original brass pan. Oil-stained walnut fullstock has typical M-1816 low comb, "US" marked buttplate, trigger guard with front swivel, serpentine sideplate, button-tip ramrod, is marked "L75" at right butt, "(crown(?)/V" and "V" opposite lock. Mfg'd 1834. Condition is good, showing gray-brown gunmetal having scattered oxidation/discoloration, pitting at nipple area, good markings. Stock is sound showing marks of age and military use. Six-shot cylinder is marked "22" on front face, as is right-side loading gate. Condition is about good, having been rusted and cleaned to pitted gray gunmetal with any maker's or origin markings obscured in the process. Action is crisp, lockup tight, bore shows overall moderate erosion and no rifling. 2) Antique European Breechloading Single- Shot Pistol, NVSN, .22 RF cal., 10" round barrel has 3-1/8" octagonal section at breech having what may be French proof marks, left-hinged breechblock and right-hinged extractor. Spur trigger frame has central hammer, integral "saw-handle" backstrap and 2-pc. hardwood "bird's head" grips. Mfg'd with full nickel finish, case hardened hammer and trigger. Brass construction, marked "Trivet" (?) at right frame, has 9/16" circular wheel with floral motif at center graduated with the Arabic numerals "1" thru "12". 3.25" bag-shaped burl wood grip, 5.75" in overall length. Perhaps of 18th century mfg. Condition is fine, the brass having an aged patina, the grip smooth with most original finish. Appears to function as designed. Rare and unusual. Est.: $300-$500. Antique Belgian Single Shot Percussion Pistol, with Folding Spring-Dagger, NVSN, .52 cal., 4.5" octagonal barrel has 4.25" hinged spring-dagger and catch under muzzle, "(star)/ELG" Liege proof at left breech. Boxlock frame has graceful hammer, separate trigger guard, integral straps with 1-pc. hardwood "bird's head" grip having raised aprons at either side behind lock. Condition is near fine retaining approx. 80% thinning blue (worn on dagger) with sharp edges. Grip has shrunk at frame juncture, else is sound and smooth with most varnish. Dagger does not remain retracted under barrel. Action is crisp, smoothbore shows overall moderate erosion. Est.: $250-$400. (Antique)**

Antique SXS Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun, NVSN, 12 ga., 31" barrels marked "Scholl Marysville Cala" on top rib, scroll engraved locks have matching hammers. Iron fittings incl. trigger guard with pineapple front finial and long rear, shotgun buttplate, all engraved en suite. Walnut halfstock with splinter forend, checkered panels at wrist, iron nose-piece (with 2 iron ferrules holds the brass-tipped hardwood ramrod in place). Condition is very good, the bright gunmetal barrels showing a vague twist pattern, else clean gray metal with good edges and engraving.
