Browning/FN Model 1922 Marked WWII Era Dutch M25 No. 2 Semi-Automatic Pistol

Lot # 767 (Sale Order: 773 of 842)

Browning/FN Model 1922 Marked WWII Era Dutch M25 No. 2 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #37957, .380 ACP cal., 4.5" barrel, blue finish, checkered composite two-piece FN monogram grips, lanyard ring, and 9-rd. blued steel FN marked magazine, all matching visible serial numbers, no visible import markings. Straps show minor surface erosion and the trigger guard shows modest edgewear. Barrel, trigger guard, left side of slide and frame all show Belgian proof marks. Top of the slide is well marked with a large crown over "W" and an additional crown at the rear of the action. Bore is good with scattered corrosion and defined rifling and the action is crisp. Markings indicate that the pistol is a WWII era Dutch Army service pistol, known as an M25 No. 2, often referred to as the "FN Dutch Wilhelmina Pistol". Pistol was standard issue for the Dutch Army during WWII, and large quantities were surrendered to the Germans and re-issued to the Navy and SS. An interesting and unusual example. Est.: $700-$900.
