British No. 4 Mk 1/2 Lee-Enfield Bolt Action Rifle

British No. 4 Mk 1/2 Lee-Enfield Bolt Action Rifle, #BB24211A, .303 Brit. cal., 25.2" barrel, black-painted finish, birch wood stock set, blade front sight with protectors and adjustable folding leaf rear sight with aperture. A blue RAF cotton sling is attached, condition is good with darkening. Rifle was arsenal converted to the Mark 2 model by moving the trigger from the trigger guard to the action body. The original markings were lined out and the left side action body is engraved "No 4MK ...(F)FTR/53 BB24211A". Right side buttstock has stamped "FR", and the left side has a painted "70" rack number. A #2 bolt head is fitted. Matching numbers on bolt handle and forend. Mismatched number on magazine. Condition overall is very good, the metal retaining approx. 85% finish, with scratches around the front sight and wear to the bolt body. Wood is very good showing scratches and impressions to the darkened finish. Bright bore rates excellent with well-defined rifling, the action operates smoothly. U.S. Remington Arms Model 1903-A3 Bolt Action Rifle

U.S. Remington Arms Model 1903-A3 Bolt Action Rifle, #3826736, .30-06 cal., receiver marked "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3/3826736", with an adjustable peep sight. The 24" four-groove barrel is unmarked with a reblued front sight cover. Metal was arsenal refinished and the parkerizing is very good, except for wear on the trigger guard, upper swivel and buttplate. Stock is marked with a "(boxed)RIA" and "RIA/EB" on the left side, a "(circle)P" proof behind the trigger guard, a "3321" stamped on the right side, "D5011288" stamped near the butt swivel, and the four symbols in front of the magazine. British Webley & Scott Single Shot Flare/Signal Pistol, #87753, 1" cal., 6" smooth barrel with bell-shaped extension, brass construction, smooth walnut grips, no sights, round lanyard ring mounted to bottom of grip frame. Marked "WEBLEY & SCOTT LTD"/LONDON & BIRMINGHAM" on left side frame with "III* model number. There are also Birmingham proof and view stamps, Broad Arrow property marks, and "18" in-service stamps on the left side frame and barrel. A "Winged Bullet" trademark is stamped on the right side frame. Matching numbers on underside of barrel and extractor. Condition overall is good, with dents, scratches, and patina around the muzzle. The steel hammer and barrel latch show rust pitting and patina. Grips are very good with impressions, handling marks, and darkening. WWII German Wehrmacht Marked Erma-Erfurt LP-34 Single Shot Signal Flare Pistol, #7039d, 26.5mm, 6-1/8" smooth bore barrel, black anodized aluminum alloy frame, japanned black barrel, blued steel moving components, checkered Bakelite two-piece grips, with lanyard ring. Left side is marked "ERMA-ERFURT/1940"; right side displays a pair of crisply struck waffenamt over 280 symbols and Nazi eagle on the barrel and flat. Trigger guard and trigger are similarly marked. Pistol is in fine overall condition showing considerable original thinning finish, the frame showing a dull copper patina over gray aluminum. Grips are near excellent with minor marks only. Break-open action with lever release. Marked with mfgr's code "ECKO/1941/Lufteagle 2" on left side frame. Marked on top of each barrel with a "(circle)4"/(eagle)" firing proof. There is a tiny shield symbol under an Eagle firing proof on the rear of the frame. Matching numbers on barrels. Condition overall is very good, the metal retaining approx. 70% finish, with edgewear and scratches. There is a dent to the muzzle of the right barrel. Grips are very good with scuffs and scratches to each side. Dark bore rates as good but may clean better. Action locks up smoothly but the barrel selector will not lock on either side. U.S. Underwood Semi-Automatic M1 Carbine, #4012538, .30 Carbine cal., receiver is marked "UNDERWOOD/4012538/(Flaming Bomb)", with an adjustable rear sight. The 18" barrel is marked "UNDERWOOD/7-43/(Flaming Bomb)/P", with a bayonet lug band. No import marks. This carbine was rebuilt with mixed parts, and the arsenal refinish is very good throughout, with wear on the receiver rails. The low-wood stock is marked with crossed cannons on the right side and in very good condition with slight handling marks. Included is a 5-rd. magazine marked "NUMRICK ARMS/W. The military finish is overall very good with wear on the bolt and buttplate. Stock is marked with a boxed S.A.A. and boxed "S" on the left side, with a boxed "P" proof behind the trigger guard, which are San Antonio Arsenal rebuild stamps. Stock was cleaned and is in very good condition with light handling marks. Included is a Kerr No Buckle sling in good condition with light staining. Action works properly, bore is very good. DWM 1920 Commercial Luger, with 10" Barrel and Original Barrel, #3794n, .30 Luger cal., blued finish, and currently fitted with an unmarked 10" barrel which has an inverted "V" front sight and adjustable artillery type rear sight. Pistol also features straw-colored small parts, checkered walnut grips, checkered flat toggle knobs, stock lug, and has no grip safety. Includes matching numbered 3-7/8" barrel/receiver and an unmarked tin-plated magazine with wood base. Extra barrel has blank chamber, and the front sight has been modified. Marked in the commercial style with matching numbers visible on bottom of the sideplate and takedown lever. Matching numbers are also visible on back of toggle, bottom of the original barrel, and left side of trigger, with "(crown)N" proof on left side of receiver. 10" barrel bears no markings. Original receiver is marked with "(crown)N" proof to left side and "GERMANY" on right side. Condition is very good. Approx. 80% blue remains, which shows general thinning and toning, most notable on the barrel, sideplate, and front grip strap. Straw colors have worn to approx. 30%-35%. There is some mild pitting scattered across parts of the barrel and frame. Factory lettering and proof marks are clear. Grips show normal age and light handling wear, left grip is darker in color. Action and hold open function properly. Bore is bright but there are a few spots of light erosion visible, rifling shows moderate+ wear and rates as good overall. Original barrel and receiver show age and finish wear that is consistent with the rest of the pistol. There is a little light pitting on right side of the barrel. Est.: $1,200-$1,500. (C&R/PPT)

Composite Mauser 42 Code Luger, with 1942 Dated dkk Holster, #5115d, 9mm, 4" barrel, blued finish including small parts, checkered walnut grips, inverted ??V?... front and fixed rear sight with small ??V?... notch, stock lug, no grip safety. Includes two (2) aluminum based magazines. Each magazine has a different mismatched number marked on the base. Toggle is marked ??42?..., and the serial number matches the frame. Chamber ring is marked ??1940?... but number on the receiver does not match the frame. Put together from two different pistols as the numbers on the frame, toggle, and small parts are matching; barrel and receiver numbered ??9875?.... Grips are not numbered. Right side of receiver with Nazi ??(eagle)?... firing proof, and two ??(eagle)655?... acceptance marks. There is a small firing proof on right side and ??(eagle)655?... proof on left side of the barrel. Includes a 1942 dated leather hardshell ??dkk?... coded (Friedrich Offermann & Sohne, Lederwarenfabrik) holster. Backside is also marked with ??WaA195?... waffenamt. Pistol is in very good condition, retaining approx. 70% factory metal finish, which shows general thinning and toning. Front and backstrap retain little finish and now display a darkened gray metal mixed with brown patina. Factory lettering and proof marks are legible. There are a few small spots of pitting on the barrel, sideplate, and receiver. Grips show moderate handling wear and flattening to the checkering detail. Action, hold open and safety function properly with one of the magazines. The other magazine retains no finish, is pitted, and the hold open does not function with this magazine. Bore is bright, with a few intermittent spots of light erosion, rifling is very good. Holster is in good condition, displaying scuffs and scratches from service use, primarily to the front side. Markings on the back are clear. Pull strap is present and functions properly. Stitching and seams are tight. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R)

Bavarian Model 1889 Cavalry Dress Sword and Scabbard

Bavarian Model 1889 Cavalry Dress Sword and Scabbard, 32.5" pipe-backed falchion blade marked on the left side ricasso with the Balance Scales, symbol of the Alex Coppel Co. of Solingen. Blade is acid etched on each side with the motto of the Kingdom of Bavaria "In Treue fest"(steadfast in loyalty, firm in fidelity) set within a leaf pattern design. 38.75" overall. Steel basket hilt has a rampart Bavarian lion holding a sword and shield incorporated into the right side, with the top edge rolled forward. The ribbed black bakelite grip is secured to the tang with two rivets. Condition overall is very good, the blade retaining a bright color, with areas of patina concentrated mostly toward the tip which shows very light use. Flat edge is otherwise very good. Handle is in very good condition and fits tightly to the blade. Grip is very good with handling marks. The nickel-finished scabbard is unmarked, with two fixed rings to attach a hanger. Condition is good showing wear and mostly pinprick flaking to the surface with a dent to the right side. Blade enters and withdraws smoothly. Est.: $300-$500.

Imperial German Model 1849 Artillery Dress Saber, with Scabbard, 33" single fuller nickel-finished steel blade with upswept point marked "wMw/WAFFEN" on left side ricasso. 37.75" overall. The "P"-shaped guard, backpiece, and crossguard with langets are all nickel plated. The dove head ribbed black bakelite grip is secured by double strand brass wire and a pinned ear on each side. Condition overall is very good, the blade showing patina spots and tiny flaking to the right side. The edge is very good and there are scratches around the point which remains straight. Handle is in good condition showing flaking and scratches to the nickel and fits tightly to the blade. Grip is good with handling marks and the wire loops remain tightly in place. There is a leather washer at the base of the blade. Black steel scabbard is unmarked and has been repainted. The single band has a loose ring to attach a hanger. Condition is good with scattered scratches and dents above the chape. Blade enters and withdraws smoothly. Est.: $300-$500.

Imperial German Artillery Officer's Lionhead Saber, with Scabbard, 31.75" unmarked single fuller bright steel blade with upswept point, 37.25" overall length. The iron lion's head pommel has its "P" shaped-guard fixed between his jaws and two "ruby" glass stones fitted to his eyes. Top of the crossguard ends in a smaller lion's head quillion. Right side langet features the Artillery "Crossed Cannons" motif and the left side with a helmeted Knight's head on a shield. Guard and other fittings are decorated with oak leaves and finished with a thin gilt wash. Ribbed black bakelite grip is secured by double strand steel wire. Condition overall is very good, the blade showing scattered patina and micro scratches from cleaning. The flat blade edge has small dents and roughness along its upper length. The tip is bent slightly to the right. Handle is very good and fits tightly to the blade. Gilt finish remains mostly in protected areas. Grip is very good with handling marks. Two of the wire loops are loose but remain in place. Black-painted steel scabbard is unmarked. The single band has a loose ring to attach a hanger. Condition is fair with scratches, flaking, and patina to the finish. There is a deep dent to the left side above the chape. Blade enters and withdraws smoothly. Est.: $400-$600.

German Army WWII Dove Head Sword and Scabbard, by F.W. Holler, 30.5" single fuller bright steel blade with upswept point marked "*F.W.HOLLER*SOLINGEN" surrounding a thermometer on left side ricasso. 35.2" overall. The "P"-shaped guard, backpiece, and crossguard with langets are all constructed of brass and decorated with an oak leaf and acorn design with flowers on the ears. Right side langet has a relief of a German Army Eagle clutching a mobile swastika. The dove head ribbed black bakelite grip is secured by a brass spring wire set between two brass strips and a pinned ear on each side. Condition overall is very good, the blade retaining a bright color. Flat edge shows use and filing at the point. Handle is in very good condition and fits tightly to the blade. Grip is very good and the spring wires show tiny splits but the loops remain tightly in place. There is a brown leather washer at the base of the blade. Black steel scabbard is unmarked, the single band has a loose ring to attach a hanger. Condition is good with areas of the paint crackled and flaking now showing patina. The "P"-shaped guard, backpiece, and crossguard with langets are all constructed of brass. The dove head ribbed black fish skin grip is secured by double strand silver wire and a pinned ear on each side. Condition overall is very good, the blade retaining a bright color with micro scratches to the right side. Flat edge is very good and the point remains straight. Handle is in very good condition with surface wear and toning and fits tightly to the blade. Grip is very good with light wear and the wire loops remain tightly in place. There is a red leather washer at the base of the blade. The polished black leather scabbard is unmarked and has a brass locket, chape, and an extra band on the upper section. Lot of Four (4) European Military Bayonets and Scabbards: 1) Original Austrian Kropatschek Model 1878 Rifle Bayonet by Steyr, with Scabbard. Bayonet is in fine overall condition, with a bright and shiny 20.5" T-backed blade showing no sharpening. Bayonet and scabbard display matching serial number #RS97339. Spine is marked "USINE de STEYR 1878" in script. Steel handguard shows scattered corrosion and surface rust with smooth wood scales and a brass pommel. Scabbard is in good condition retaining the majority of its original finish, with scattered spots of light surface rust. 2) Pair of French WWI Lebel Model 1886 Cruciform Eppe Bayonets, with steel scabbards and rare steel handles. One of the bayonets is in fine overall condition with an excellent bright blade and steel scabbard retaining considerable original finish. The second is in very good condition with a fine blade and scabbard that has drifted to brown patina. Both have scarce and desirable steel handles. 3) Original French WWI Lebel Model 1886 Brass Handle Cruciform Epee Bayonet, with Steel Scabbard, Serial #FL 344. Bayonet is in fine overall condition, retaining considerable original blue finish with crisp edges. Blade displays "J" and "M" proofs in circles at the ricasso. Smooth brass handle has taken on a pleasing taffy patina with a diamond proof at the end of the pommel. Matching scabbard bears the same serial number, retaining the majority of its original finish drifting to dark patina with minor scrapes, scratches and some light surface rust at the tip. Scabbard shows "R" and "M" proofs in circles on one side of the throat and a "Z" on the reverse. Est.: $400-$600/Lot.

Bayonet shows no sharpening, with standard lateral marks from the scabbard, ribbed Bakelite handle, marked with a pair of "WaA253" waffenamt symbols at the pommel. Scabbard shows thinning finish with light surface erosion. 2) 1938 dated E.u.F. Horster, #4432 l, with matching blue steel scabbard, in fine condition. Bayonet shows no sharpening with light wear, retaining nearly all of the blue finish, ribbed Bakelite handle, marked with a pair of "WaA253" waffenamt symbols at the pommel. Scabbard shows thinning finish drifting to gray patina with a couple minor indentations. 3) 1939 dated Gebruder Heller, #5617c, with matching blue steel scabbard, in fine condition. Bayonet shows no sharpening with minor scabbard wear, retaining nearly all of the blue finish, ribbed Bakelite handle, marked with a pair of Waffen Eagle over "37" proofs at the pommel. Scabbard shows even thinning finish with minor scrapes, retaining a significant amount of original finish. The remainder of the lot includes a WWII German Fireman's bayonet, frog, blue steel scabbard and knot marked Karl Henkel, Bielefeld, in near excellent condition; and a WWII German Army K98 Mauser dress bayonet with blue steel scabbard, marked "WKC" in near excellent condition, retaining nearly all original finish. Blade is excellent, still in packing grease, showing minor marks and no sharpening. Steel crossguard marked with a "P/X"; smooth wood scales and bird's head steel pommel marked "RA" in an oval. Scabbard is near excellent with a copper tip, and the green leather frog is near excellent with tight stitching. 3) Original WWI Swiss Model 1914 Pioneer Sawback Bayonet, #637385, marked Waffenfabrik Neuhausen, with steel scabbard. Bayonet is in fine overall condition, showing light scabbard marks and no sharpening. Smooth wood scales are fine with an unmarked steel pommel in the white. Steel scabbard retains significant japanned black finish scrapes and scratches. 4) Unmarked Short Sword with blue steel and leather scabbard. Short sword displays a near excellent blade with light scratches and tooling marks, blue steel handguard, crudely checkered wood scales with an extra coat of varnish, and blue steel bird's head pommel. Scabbard is near excellent with blue steel throat and tip. Body is stitched black leather with the only marking being "F" "I" on the hanger. Matte blue scabbard is fine with light scrapes, retaining significant finish. 3) "44fnj" marked, #3862m all matching, in excellent condition, the blade showing 97%-98% blue finish, with tool and machining marks, no sharpening, ribbed Bakelite handle with "WaA519" and waffenamt eagle at the pommel. Scabbard is fine with minor marks and light scrapes. There is minor pinprick pitting at the pommel. 4) "44asw" marked, #4506e all matching, in excellent condition, the blade showing 98%-99% blue finish with minor tool and machining marks, no sharpening, ribbed Bakelite handle with "WaA519" waffenamt twice at the pommel. Matte blue steel scabbard is very fine, retaining significant finish with light marks only. 5) "43asw" marked, mismatched serial #2882cc on the blade which is near excellent, retaining 95%-96% blue finish, with light scabbard scrapes, no sharpening, ribbed Bakelite handle with "WaA519" waffenamt at the pommel. Scabbard is #9045uu and in good condition, displaying scattered light to moderate pitting and surface rust. 6) "44ffc" marked, #4984e all matching, in excellent condition, the blade showing 98%-99% blue finish, with light tool marks, no sharpening, ribbed Bakelite handle with "WaA51" waffenamt at the pommel. German WWII Army Dagger, with Scabbard

Lot # 790 (Sale Order: 796 of 842)      

German WWII Army Dagger, with Scabbard,10" blade,14.4" overall length. Blade is double sided with flat edges and etched with "(Helmeted Knight)/WKC/SOLINGEN" on rear facing ricasso. Metal crown-shaped screw on pommel is decorated with vertical oak leaves. Orange bakelite handle is in a descending swirl design anchored into a metal bolster with a horizontal oak leaf design. Crossguard has inward turned finials emblazoned with an Army eagle clutching a wreathed swastika. Condition is very good, the metal fittings showing wear, handling marks, and toning. Handle has toned darker and there is a chip near the top. Blade is very good with the cross grain visible on all sides. There are vertical scratches on both sides from scabbard withdrawal. Tip was damaged at some point and is now slightly distorted, with small dents and scratches visible. Metal scabbard has a pebble finish and two bands decorated with oak leaves containing loose hanger rings. There is a single throat retention screw on the upper edge. Condition is good, with flaking and darkening to both edges and overall toning to the body. Blade enters and withdraws smoothly. Est:$500-$700.

Elsener Schwyz M.1943 Swiss Officer's Dress Dagger, with Portapee, in a faux leather presentation case with red velveteen interior and ivory satin lid liner. Dagger is in excellent condition with a polished center-ridge, double-edged, stiletto style blade marked "ELSENER SCHWYZ/VICTORIA" at the ricasso. The reverse is marked with the serial number #156814. A Holbein style nickel crossguard protects the smooth hardwood grip scales secured with three domed nickel screws, ending with a nickel pommel with countersunk taps. The black enameled scabbard is excellent, showing no use. Dagger is complete with correct portapee, in excellent condition. Inside the lid of the case, a handwritten note in ink reads "Swiss Officer's Dress Dagger/Col. Koch on behalf Swiss Chief of Ordnance/-1959". An interesting Post-War piece that is worthy of further research. Est.: $200-$400.

Langenhan FL Selbstlader Model I Self-Loading Semi-Automatic Pistol, #38356, .32 ACP cal., 4" barrel, blue finish, checkered hard rubber two-piece grips with "FL" monogram, blade front and fixed V-notch rear sights, unmarked 8-rd. blue steel magazine, no visible import markings. Mfg'd 1914-1917. Pistol is in near fine overall condition, retaining 85%-90% thinning blue finish, with holster wear at the muzzle, showing even edgewear along the frame and slide. There are numerous German "(crown)/N" proofs on the frame and slide. Grips are good with a small repair at the base of the right panel. Bore is very good, showing use with defined rifling. Action functions well and locks up securely. The Langenhan was a simple blowback pistol modeled after the FN 1900, produced for only three years, with approx. 55,000 pistols produced for use by the German military and police during WWI.
