Winchester Model 62A Slide-Action Rifle

Lot # 820 (Sale Order: 826 of 842)      

Winchester Model 62A Slide-Action Rifle, #312973, .22 S-L-LR cal., 23" round barrel, blue finish, straight grip walnut stock with black plastic Winchester buttplate, 17-groove forend, beaded blade front and standard rear sight with elevator. Mfg'd 1951. Metal surfaces rate in very good overall condition and retain approx. 92% factory blue. There is a spot of finish wear to left side of the barrel in front of the forend, as well as areas of light edgewear. A 1-1/2" crack is present on the left side of the wrist. The stain and finish in this area was touched up and is now lighter in color. Wood is otherwise good, showing several dents and scratches, particularly on the buttstock. Action is crisp and operates smoothly, bore is bright with very good well-defined rifling. Est.: $300-$400. (C&R/PPT)

Winchester Model 63 Semi-Automatic Rifle, #70404, .22 LR cal., 23" barrel, blue finish, pistol grip walnut stock and forend, checkered steel buttplate, dovetailed beaded blade front sight, and standard "U"-notched rear sight with elevator. Winchester proof marks are located on top of the barrel and receiver. Mfg'd 1947. Condition is good. Approx. 75% factory metal finish remains showing thinning and toning to the barrel and bottom of the receiver. Factory lettering is clear. There are light scratches and handling marks scattered throughout, some mild frosting present on the receiver. Wood with general dents and scratches. Finish has thinned and is flaking on the forend and buttstock, adjacent to the buttplate. Action operates smoothly. Bore is bright with very good well-defined rifling. Est.: $400-$500. (C&R/PPT)

H.W. Cooey Machine & Arms Co. Winchester Model 64A Semi-Automatic Rifle, NVSN, .22 LR cal., 20" barrel, blue finish, smooth hardwood one-piece pistol grip stock, blade front and standard elevator U-notch rear sights, unmarked 10-rd. detachable box magazine, factory grooved receiver, clear factory markings, "MFG. BY WINCHESTER/COBOURG, ONT., CANADA" on top of barrel. Topped with a one-piece rail mount and early Weaver Qwik-Point Model R-1 red dot sight in gloss black. The red dot is clearly visible but there are small scattered pieces of debris present in the sight. Mfg'd in the mid-1960's after the Cooey design was sold to Olin-Winchester in 1964. Rifle is in near fine overall condition, retaining 94%-95% toning blue finish, with considerable light, scattered surface rust along the barrel and left side of the receiver, due to poor storage. Receiver also shows scattered surface rust on the left side and top. Stock is near excellent with minor indentations, light handling marks, and a nylon trigger guard. Butt ends with a ribbed plastic buttplate, providing a 13.75" LOP. Bright bore is very good with defined rifling. Action functions well and locks up securely. Est.: $200-$400. (C&R/PPT)

Winchester marked detachable box magazine, factory grooved receiver, sharp factory markings with crisp Winchester "WP" proofs at the barrel and front ring. Lot includes additional 5 and 10-rd. Winchester marked magazines and a period leather rifle sling. Mfg'd 1935-1963. Rifle is in excellent overall condition, retaining 97%-98% factory finish, with light handling marks and scattered spots of light surface erosion along the barrel. The chrome bolt handle is showing minor flaking of finish. Stock is excellent with minor indentations and storage marks. Butt ends with a Winchester marked checkered plastic buttplate which is slightly discolored, providing a 13.5" LOP. Bore is minty bright. Est.: $200-$400. (C&R/PPT)

German Waffenwerk Sportmodell Single-Shot Bolt Action Rifle, #5575, .22 LR cal., 26" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set with sling stud and firing pin disassembly ring on buttstock. Inverted "V" front sight and adjustable tangent rear sight with "V" notch. An imitation cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel. Marked on top of receiver ring "JGA/THURINGEN", with "GERMANIAWAFFENWERK A.G.ZELLA-MEHLIS" on the left side receiver and "Deutsches Sportmodell" on the right. Matching number on safety lever. Barrel shank has "(crown)N/Nitro" stamp. Condition overall is very good, the metal retaining approx. 90% finish, with toning to the barrel bands and patina to the buttplate. Wood is very good with handling marks and impressions to the even-colored finish. Action operates smoothly, bright bore rates excellent with well defined rifling. No visible import marks. Custom Harrington & Richardson .22 Special Revolver, Converted to Single Shot, #498497, .22 LR cal., 6" ribbed barrel, blue finish, checkered walnut two-piece target grips, German silver half-round blade front and fixed square-notch rear sights, color case hardened hammer, and ejector. This H&R revolver is in fine overall condition as reconfigured to a single shot, retaining 90%-95% factory finish, with wear at the muzzle and light scratches. Cylinder has been removed and replaced with a mono-block single shot receiver with ejector. The work appears good but should be inspected by a competent gunsmith before operating. Target grips are replacements in near excellent condition. Bore is good with scattered spots of corrosion and defined rifling. Action functions well and locks up securely. Lot includes a period leather flap holster with the flap trimmed, displaying a blacksmith's arm holding a sledgehammer over an anvil, in fair condition. Est.: $200-$400. (Modern/PPT)

Obverse side of the blade is marked "8129"; reverse "VOORHIS". No sheath. Condition is near excellent. Blade is unused, displaying a few light micro-scratches, unfortunately the tip is slightly bent. Randall Model 12 "Bear Bowie" Fixed Blade Knife, with Sheath, 8" blade is marked "Randall Made, Orlando, FLA.", overall length is 12-3/4". Commando-shaped wood handle with curved brass double hilt. In an original brown leather roughback Randall sheath, backside with Randall logo and "12 8". Includes white soft Arkansas sharpening stone. Knife is in very good overall condition. Blade stamp is crisp but shows evidence of poor storage. Obverse side of the blade has two spots of pitting approx. 1-1/2" up from the hilt that look like they were polished. Both the obverse and reverse side also have a few tiny specks of darkened mild pitting. Hilt shows moderate toning from age. Few light handling marks are present on the wood handle. Sheath is also very good with general staining and discoloration to the leather, with tight stitching and seams. Sheath would improve with thorough cleaning/conditioning. Est.: $700-$900.

Reverse side of the handle is marked "R.H. RUANA/BONNER/MONTANA". Includes a brown leather Ruana sheath. Front is stamped with Deer Head and "Ruana". Knife is in good used condition. There is mild darkened pitting visible on the blade. Aluminum handle and stag scales display intermittent normal light marks that would be associated with moderate handling and use. Randall Model 4 "Big Game and Skinner" Fixed Blade Knife, with Sheath, 6" blade is marked "Randall Made, Orlando, FLA.", overall length is 10-3/4". Stag handle with brass single hilt. In an original brown leather roughback Randall sheath, backside with Randall logo and "4 6". Includes an unmarked salmon colored sharpening stone. Knife is in good used condition. Blade has been refurbished, intermittent mild pitting is still visible, and the blade now has some light scratching from use. Lower portion of the Randall logo is light from polishing. Brass shows darkening from age and a small spot of discoloration. Stag handle has a nice aged appearance. Sheath is very good. There is a little very mild age cracking to the sheath belt loop, otherwise showing scattered scuffs. Stitching and seams are tight. Sheath would benefit from light cleaning/conditioning. Sharpening stone is unused. Est.: $400-$500.

Lot includes two salesman cased sets of knives marketed by Crosman Air Guns, with original boxes and leather sheaths/pouches. The silver faux leather cases are in very good condition with each containing five folders and a fixed blade knife. One case is missing the leather sheath. Additionally, the cases contain period literature and brochures. One case includes the card of the Regional Sales Manager still taped in the lid. The display cases are still in the factory cardboard shipping containers. A neat set of original Crosman Blades merchandise, mfg'd by Camillus for Crosman Air Guns in 1982-83. Est.: $300-$500/Set.

Americase Aluminum Two-Barrel Over/Under Shotgun Case, with Four Briley Tubes and Six Chokes. Case is in good condition with numerous scratches, dings, and stains to the outside. Inside features a blue velour cloth interior which shows oil and dirt staining from storage of barrels and tubes. There is a small area where the fabric has worn, exposing the material beneath. Bottom section is designed for a two-barrel Over/Under set, while the upper section will accommodate six (6) replacement tubes. Also included are 2two sets of Briley 27.5" tubes, one set is chambered for 20 ga., both marked .624; the 2nd set is chambered for .410 ga., both are marked .414. All tubes have a bright and shiny bore with small amounts of powder fouling. There is no indication of what brand or model shotgun these were made for. In addition, there are 6 more screw-in chokes for the tubes; (2) .410 ga., marked 412/.002 and (4) 20 ga., two marked 550/.002 and two marked S-3T 618/.006. All are held in two black plastic Briley choke holders, along with two choke wrenches. Est.: $300-$500.
