Lot # 1036 (Sale Order: 201 of 393)      

Lot of Two (2) WWII German Helmets: 1) SS Schutzstaffeln Double Decal M-16/18 Transitional Helmet. WW1 helmet that was reproduced to show as a SS Schutzstaffeln helmet, sprayed in green paint 100%, complete showing no surface damage or scuffs. SS decal on right side is 100% and is post-war reproduction that has been applied over exterior paint, showing no age. National shield is 95% complete and well applied reproduction. Original WWII leather liner in complete good condition has been reinstalled, with shoelace drawstring and green original WW1 chinstrap that is quite weathered. Shell marked 'ET 66' and '5000', no other markings are visible. 2) Luftwaffe (Airforce) Single Decal M-40 Helmet. Original textured dark field gray paint 50+%, with heavy surface rust at top of dome and scratches over the exterior. Left side has strange Eagle/Swastika decal in yellow and in worn condition 50%. Original leather liner in complete lightly worn condition, some drying size stamp and unreadable name inked on liner, has original drawstring. Original chinstrap is present, broken and showing heavy wear. Interior paint shows some varnish or other substance applied around interior of skirt. No dome stamp present. Size stamp 'Q64' and lot number '?359' stamped in real of skirt, no other stamps or markings are visible. Est.: $300-$500/Lot.

Lot of Four (4) M-16/18 Transitional Helmets: 1) WW1 Austrian Helmet. Entire shell has been spray painted in gloss grey-green over original paint with 60% coverage, scratches and chips all over exterior. Original WW1 3-pad liner is present in very good condition, made of tan leather with the 3 pillows in place and drawstring. Original chinstrap is in very good condition. "Hohenadel" inked on liner and also painted in large white paint letters on skirt preceded by "19", with something painted over. No other markings are visible through thick over-paint. 2) Original Steel M-16/18 Helmet Shell, with exterior covered in even surface rust. Interior is void of liner and chinstrap, liner band present. Some rust and corrosion over interior dome and skirt also. 3) WWII German Heer (Army) Double Decal M-16/18 Transitional Helmet. WW1 helmet that was repainted and relined for Heer (Army), repainted in lightly textured dark green paint that is 80% complete showing overall surface rust and wear. Heer (Army) decal 60% on left side showing age and scrapes. National Tri-Color shield on right side approx. 50% remaining with staining over the shield, possible replacement. Replaced Third Reich style thin ersatz black leather liner is installed with some dryness. Chinstrap is missing. Left side of skirt is stamped "ET64". No other markings are visible. Interior paint is in similar condition to exterior of shell. 4) WW1 German M-16/18 Helmet Shell. Hand painted over entire exterior in dark green feldgrau, 40% covered in even surface rust, major chipping and scratches. Interior is void of liner, liner band and chinstrap. Some rust and corrosion over interior skirt, no other markings are visible thru thick over-paint. Est.: $200-$350/Lot.

Lot of Two (2) WWII German Luftwaffe Single Decal Helmets: 1) M-40 Helmet. Original textured dark field gray paint 70+% complete, with lightly scattered surface scratches and rust. Original Luftwaffe (Air force) decal barely visible. Approx. 30+% present, with much wear and has been partially scratched off. Original liner band is present in good condition, balance of interior is not present. Interior paint shows some surface rust and scratches with no dome stamp present. Shell is marked "Q 64" and "1N143" lot stamp, no other stamps or markings are visible. 2) M-35 Helmet. Originally a Double Decal M-35 Luftwaffe helmet with National Tri-Color shield decal scraped off per regulations. Factory dark field gray paint 70+%, with surface rust and scuffs/scrapes on sides and top of dome. Original Luftwaffe (Air force) decal in nearly complete intact condition 80+%. Original leather liner in complete mildly worn condition, some drying and dirt, fits loosely in helmet, has '58' size stamp in circle on liner. No drawstring or chinstrap is present. Interior paint shows nearly complete coverage of original paint. No dome stamp present. Size stamp 'Q66' and lot number '4309' stamped in real of skirt, no other stamps or markings are visible. WWI German Heer (Army) Helmet. Hand-painted camouflage in three colors - dark green, yellow ochre and rust brown, separated by black stripes as directed by Army General Staff directive. Entire shell has had an aging paint applied to look old and tarnished. Interior and exterior of the shell shows rust pitting that has been painted over. WWII liner band is present with remnants of leather and felt liner. No chin strap present with 'AL 64' stamp in skirt. Helmet has been totally restored. Est.: $200-$300.

Entire shell has been brush painted in a three-color camouflage - light tan, rust brown and medium green over feldgrau green, 90% complete, with a few scratches at dome. Shell has been totally repainted and originality of camo application is suspect. Non-original Norwegian style dark brown leather liner has been reinstalled and is in dry condition. Brown chinstrap that is in good condition is present with some damage. Brown shoelace has been installed for drawstring. Inside of shell in good condition, non-original brush-painted skirt showing light surface rust. Size "ET 64" and "2588" lot stamps are still visible. Helmet looks to have been totally restored. Composite Czech VZ-24 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #2185 ,8x57mm, 23.23" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set, inverted "V" front sight and adjustable tangent rear sight. A reproduction steel Kar 98k cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel. The sight bed retaining screw is missing and the firing pin has been re-shaped. Rifle was originally marked as a VZ-24, now remarked "dou./41" on top of receiver ring, with an "eagle/swastika" on the left side. Receiver rail remarked "G.24(t)". Bolt handle marked "2185" with other numbers removed. Spurious "eagle-swastika/WaA63" marks stamped on right and underside of buttstock. Condition overall is fair, the metal retaining approx. 40% of the partially re-blued finish. Wood has a repaired area behind the rear band, otherwise good, showing handling marks and darkening behind the receiver tang. Action operates smoothly, dark bore rates as poor with visible rifling. French Unique Model Rr 51 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #110130, .32 ACP cal., 3.2" barrel, blue finish, ribbed plastic grips, lanyard ring, 9-shot unmarked magazine, ringed hammer, low-profile blade front and fixed square-notch rear sights, sharp factory markings, with no visible import marks. Lot includes a period leather flap holster in near excellent condition with an additional 9-shot unmarked magazine. Pistol is in very good overall condition, retaining 90%-95% factory finish, with holster wear at the muzzle and along the slide. There is even full-length edgewear, light scratches and marks consistent with carry and use. Straps and trigger guard show scratches and light edgewear. Grips are very good with minor marks. Bore is very good with light frosting in the grooves and well-defined rifling. WAC Marked MAB Modele D Semi-Automatic Pistol, #102552, 7.65mm (.32 ACP) cal., 4" barrel, low-profile blade front and fixed rear sights, blue finish, checkered plastic two-piece MAB monogram grips, unmarked 9-rd. magazine, grip safety, and lanyard ring. Pistol is in very good overall condition retaining approx. 75%-80% thinning factory finish, drifting to dark patina, with holster wear at the muzzle, small scratches and edgewear consistent with carry and use. There are small areas of light surface erosion and oxidation noted, primarily on the slide. Right side of slide is marked "MADE IN FRANCE FOR WAC". The Western Arms Co., was a corporation known for importing European arms in the 1950's. Markings are sharp on this pistol. Grips are very good with three of the four grip screws being replacements. Composite German Kar 98k Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #9965Y, 8x57mm, 23.6" barrel, blued finish, laminated stock set with flat buttplate, inverted "V" front sight and adjustable tangent rear sight. A very good condition reproduction steel cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel and a good condition muzzle cover is attached. "Mod.98" marked on left side receiver rail and "42/1940" marked on top of receiver ring. Spurious "eagle-swastika" marks are stamped on the left side receiver and barrel shank, and additional "eagle-swastika" and "(eagle)/WaA63" marks are stamped on the right and underside of the buttstock. Numbers removed from front barrel band, other visible numbers match. Condition overall is good, the metal retaining approx. 60% finish, with rust patina to the barrel bands, trigger guard, and buttplate. Wood is good with old scratches and handling marks to the dark finish. Bright bore rates very good with very good defined rifling. Action operates smoothly. No visible import marks. Est.: $500-$700. A very good condition cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel. Rifle is marked on top of receiver ring "dou/44" and "Mod.98" on the left side receiver rail. Spurious "eagle-swastika" stamps have been applied to the left side receiver, barrel, and right-side buttstock. A serial number has been gouged out of the left side buttstock. Bolt handle has been re stamped with a matching serial number. Condition overall is very good, the metal retaining approx. 40% finish, with some parts cleaned and now toned to a golden color. Wood has been sanded and stained over old handling marks, now in good condition. Action operates smoothly, bright bore is excellent with well-defined rifling. No visible import marks. A good condition reproduction steel cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel. "Mod.98" marked on left side receiver rail. Other original markings have been removed, a spurious "bnz/44" has been stamped into the top of the receiver ring, and "eagle-swastika", SS, and "WaA" marks have been stamped into the receiver and barrel shank. A spurious "Death's Head" has been stamped into the stock wrist. Matching number on bolt handle and magazine floorplate. Numbers removed from bolt shroud and barrel bands. Condition overall is fair, the metal retaining approx. 50% of its partially cleaned finish. Wood is fair with a crack at the wrist and two repairs to the right side. Finish has been sanded and stained. The muzzle has been counter bored. Bore rates fair with darkening in the grooves and worn rifling. Modified German Kar 98k Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #9552C, 8x57mm, 23.6" barrel, blued finish, laminated stock set with cupped buttplate, inverted "V" front sight with attached hood and adjustable tangent rear sight. A good condition cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel. There was probably a dual code marked on top of the receiver ring with possibly "bcd" removed, now leaving "ar" remaining over "43". Left side receiver rail marked with original "Mod.98" and a restamped "9552C" with two reproduction "eagle-swastika" firing proof stamps on the receiver ring and barrel, with another reproduction stamp on the underside of the stock wrist. All numbers now match except cocking piece. Condition overall is good with less than 60% finish remaining on the metal, showing most parts worn or toned gold to brown. Wood is good showing overall bruising and handling marks to the even-colored finish. Action operates smoothly, bore rates as very good with slight darkening and very good defined rifling. WWII German Walther ac-43 P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol, with Pebble Grain Holster, #2583k, 9mm, 4.9" barrel, blued finish, dark brown ribbed Bakelite grips, drift adjustable blade front sight and fixed rear sight with U-shaped groove. Pistol also features a hammer drop safety, lanyard loop, and includes two (2) blued steel magazines. Left side of the first magazine is marked "P.38v"; spine "(eagle)359". The second magazine is marked "(eagle)88" on the lower portion of the spine. Right side of slide is marked with Nazi eagle firing proof and two "(eagle)359" waffenamts. There is an additional "(eagle)359" waffenamt on left side of the frame. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, slide, and locking block. No import marks. Includes a black softshell pebble grain holster. Backside of the holster is marked "P38" and has an illegible maker's mark (looks like ?xd). Pistol is in good condition. Approx. 70% thinning factory blue remains. Frame shows plum colored toning. Wear to top of the slide, front grip strap, and barrel accounts for most of the finish loss. There are areas of light pitting on the barrel, front and right side of the slide. Factory lettering, proof marks, etc. are clear. Grips show normal signs of age and light handling wear. Action, hold open, and hammer drop all function properly. There is mild pitting scattered throughout the bore, primarily in the grooves, rifling is good. Holster is good. Pebble grain texture on the magazine pouch and lower back half has worn mostly flat, and there is a little age cracking to the flap. Stitching and seams remain tight. Est.: $700-$1,000. (C&R/PPT)

WWII German Spreewerk cyq P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #5407f, 9mm, 4.9" barrel, blued finish, reddish brown ribbed Bakelite grips, drift adjustable blade front sight and fixed rear sight with U-shaped groove. Pistol also features a hammer drop safety, lanyard loop, and includes one blued steel magazine. There are remnants of a waffenamt at the base of the magazine spine. Looks like it would have been "(eagle)88" with only the "88" still visible. Right side of slide is marked with Nazi eagle firing proof, and two "(eagle)88" waffenamts. There is an additional "(eagle)88" waffenamt and asterisk mark on left side of the frame. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, slide, and locking block. No import marks. Condition is very good. Approx. 85%-90% original blued finish remains. Wear to the front grip strap and trigger guard bow accounts for most of the finish loss, otherwise showing intermittent handling marks and some light edgewear. Grips show only light handling wear, no chips or cracks. Action, hold open, and hammer drop all function properly. Bore is bright and the rifling is clearly defined but there are some areas of light pitting scattered throughout. Pistol also features a hammer drop safety, lanyard loop, and includes one blued steel magazine. Left side of magazine is marked "P.38", with "(eagle)359" waffenamt on the spine. Right side of slide is marked with Nazi eagle firing proof and two "(eagle)359" waffenamts. There is an additional "(eagle)359" waffenamt on left side of the frame. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, slide, and locking block. No import marks. Condition is very good. Approx. 85% thinning and toning factory metal finish remains, showing wear to the front grip strap, muzzle, and edges. There is some light pitting and patina present on the barrel and front edges of the slide. Factory lettering and proof marks are clear. Grips show normal light handling wear. Soviet TT-33 Tokarev Semi-Automatic Pistol, with Two Magazines and Holster, #XO1169, 7.62x25mm, 4.6" barrel, blued finish, grooved black plastic grips embossed with five-pointed star and "CCCP" logo on each side. Blade front sight and drift adjustable rear sight with U-notch. There is a lanyard ring on the left side of the frame. Both magazines are fitted with lanyard loops. Magazine #1 is stamped with a matching number #XO1169 on the floorplate. Condition is good with wear and dark toning to the finish. #2 is stamped #cr1406 on the floorplate. Condition is fair with patina and rust. Black leather shoulder holster is unmarked. Condition is fair with stains, scratches, and scuffs. Shoulder strap is missing. Pistol is marked "XO1169/(five-pointed Tula Arsenal star)/1940" on left side frame and on top of the slide. Condition overall is good, the metal retaining approx.70% of its recent cold blue finish which was applied over areas of old pitting, now toned to a brown color. Grips are good with chips and wear mostly to the right side. Action operates smoothly, dark bore rates fair with rust in the grooves that may clean better, with fair to good rifling. Lot includes a period gray leather flap police style holster in very good condition with an extra unmarked magazine. Pistol is in fine overall condition, retaining 92%-93% high-polish blue finish, with light holster wear at the muzzle, along the slide, and modest highpoint edgewear throughout. Front and rear grip straps show scattered spots of surface erosion, with the rear strap drifting to darker patina. Markings are sharp with a crown over eagle inspection mark at the left rear of the frame. Left side of the slide is marked "P. BERETTA - CAL. 7.65-BREVETTATA/GARDONE V. T. 1941 XIX". Browning/FN Model 1922 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #129437, .32 ACP cal., 4.5" barrel, blue finish, checkered hard rubber FN marked two-piece grips, blade front and fixed V-notch rear sights, no visible import marks, Belgian proofs on the left side of slide, frame and left side of trigger guard, and a 9-rd. FN marked magazine with a non-matching serial number. Pistol is in fine overall condition, retaining 85%-90% thinning factory blue finish, with holster wear at the muzzle and along the slide. There are small areas of scattered light surface erosion and dried oil, particularly along the slide. Straps and trigger guard show edgewear and thinning finish. Right side of the frame displays a "Berlin rosette" and an "A" indicating this pistol was used by the Berlin Police in the American Sector. Grips are good with some flattening of the checkering and a small chip missing from the bottom right corner of the left panel. Lot of Three (3) German WWII Leuchtpistole 34 Single Shot Flare Pistols, and one Holster, 26.5mm smoothbore cal., 6" barrels with octagonal chambers, steel lanyard rings on butts. No sights. Break-open actions with lever releases. All actions lock up and cycle smoothly. 1) #347a. Marked "duv/42" on left side frame, "eagle-swastika" firing proofs, and an "eagle-swastika 214" inspection mark on right-side barrel and frame. Duralumin construction with blackened finish. No sights. Break-open action with lever releases. All pistols have mismatched numbers on frames and barrels: 1) #5404. Marked "S/237/1938" on left side frame, with "eagle-swastika" firing proofs and "eagle-swastika 26" inspection stamps on right side frame and barrel. Condition overall is good, the metal retaining approx. 50% finish, showing wear and spots to the barrel. Grips are good with light handling marks. Bore rates as good with a couple of dark spots. Marked "Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis(Thur)/(Walther Banner)/1937" on left side frame, with "(crown) B and U" firing proofs and "(eagle)359" inspection stamps on right side frame and barrel. Condition overall is fair, the metal now toned a bronze color with wear and scratches. Left side smooth wooden grip is a non-standard replacement in fair condition; right side bakelite grip is in poor condition. Bore rates as fair with pitting. Action locks up and operates smoothly. 2) #26076L. Marked "Waffenfabrik Walther Zella-Mehlis(Thur)/(Walther Banner)" on left side frame and with "(eagle)(inverted heart)" black powder firing proofs on right side frame and barrel.
