WWII German Camo Heer (Army) No Decal M-35 Helmet. Entire shell has been brush painted in two color camouflage - rust brown and dark green, in 95+% complete condition with a few scratches at wear at dome. Shell has been totally repainted and originality of camo application is suspected to be post-war restoration. Non-original Norwegian style dark brown leather liner has been reinstalled and is in dry but complete condition, with '56' in a box stamp for size on liner. Brown chin strap that is in good condition is present with some damage. Brown shoelace has been installed for drawstring. Inside of shell in good condition. Non-original brush painted skirt showing light surface rust. No visible stamps or markings are visible through the repaint. Helmet looks to have been totally restored. Est.: $200-$300.

WWII German Heer (Army) Single Decal M-40 Helmet. Original green paint 85% complete, with minor rust and surface scratches over most of exterior, scattered chips also visible. Heer (Army) decal 50+% remaining, possibly reapplied. Original wartime leather liner in complete dry and flaking condition - no drawstring present, size '60' in a circle ink stamp. Original chinstrap is present, broken and showing heavy wear. Shell size is marked "Q 66" and "N534", no other names, markings or dome stamp can be seen. Est.: $200-$300.

Lot of Three (3) WWII German Helmets

Lot # 1163 (Sale Order: 328 of 393)      

Lot of Three (3) WWII German Helmets: 1) Camo Heer (Army) Single Decal M-42 Helmet. Exterior of shell shows a three-color camouflage - light green and rust brown brushed over original shell green 90+% complete, with a few scratches at dome top and sides. Originality of wartime camo appears to be period applied. Original wartime leather liner in complete very good condition with replaced drawstring present, shell is marked "CKL 64", lot number is marked "4612", and unreadable dome stamp is also present. Original chinstrap is in place and in fair condition with medium wear. Inside of shell skirt is painted with some light green camo paint over the original factory paint. Liner has name "Uffz Fisher" (?) inked on leather. 2) M-35 "Beaded" Luftshutz-SHD No Decal Helmet, with satin smooth dark black finish. Paint is approx. 80% with small surface rust spots and scuffs. Late-war original ersatz impregnated fabric liner (like oil cloth) in nearly complete condition, has cork spacers where liner is attached to shell, original drawstring in place. No chinstrap is included. Interior paint shows rust spots also with no other visible interior stamps or markings. 3) No Decal M-40 Helmet Shell, looks to be ground dug - exterior and interior totally covered in heavy rust with deep pitting. Interior is void of anything, liner and liner band are not present. Heavy rust and corrosion over interior skirt. Est.: $300-$500/Lot.

Lot of Four (4) German WWI Model 1894 Hebel Leuchtpistole Single Shot Break-Open Flare Pistols, 26.5mm smoothbore cal. ,9" round barrels with octagonal chambers, steel construction with blued finish, smooth hardwood grips and swiveling lanyard rings attached to butts. No sights: 1) #44839. Marked "GobnR." on left side frame, with crowned proof and inspection stamps on right-side frame and barrel. Matching numbers. Condition is good, the metal retaining approx. 25% finish, with rust and patina. Grips are good with handling marks. Dark bore rates as fair with pitting. Action locks up and cycles smoothly. 2) #9518. Marked "CHR.F" on left side frame, with crowned proof and inspection stamps on right-side frame and barrel. Matching numbers. Condition is fair, the metal retaining approx. 20% finish, with rust and patina. Grips are fair with bruises and darkening. Dark bore rates as poor with pitting. Action cycles smoothly but the barrel, latch, and hammer operate loosely. 3) #847. Marked "Dapag" on left side frame and barrel, with a "(circle)D.E." on right side barrel. No number on barrel, matching numbers on screw heads. Condition is fair, the metal retaining approx. 40% finish, with overall patina. "MN" has been carved twice into the right side grip. Condition for both sides is poor, with bruises and scratches. Dark bore rates poor with pitting. Action locks up and operates smoothly. 4) #30567. Marked "Gcbr.R." on left side frame, with crowned proof and inspection stamps on right side barrel and frame. Matching numbers. Condition is fair, the metal retaining approx.10% finish, with rust and patina. Grips are fair with bruises and impressions. Barrel is bent at the muzzle and the bore rates as poor with pitting. Lot of Two (2) WWII Production U.S. Sklar Signal Flare Pistols, 37mm/1.5", by Sklar in San Francisco, from April and August of 1945. Many U.S. Navy ships and merchant vessels of the era were fitted with the Sklar pistols. They are non-magnetic, except for some parts of the mechanism. Both are marked "SKLAR/*SIGNAL PISTOL*/SAN FRANCISCO" on the left side. 1) Marked "PT 4.45" indicating April 1945 mfg. and metal penetrant testing. #Z 3039. The original rope lanyard is attached and in good condition. Bore is very good, showing some use; action opens easily for loading and the ejector is working. 2) Marked "PT 5.45" for May 1945 mfg. #Z 5142. Pistol lacks the rope lanyard but appears virtually unused. Bore is clean as new. Top of the barrel has what looks like a dab of white paint. These two examples remain in original excellent condition with nice zinc finish that has not been cleaned. Both pistols have 8" barrels, weigh 4.0 lbs. each, and have an overall length of 11.5", 8.5". Est.: $300-$400/Lot.

Composite German Kar 98k Mauser Bolt Action Rifle

Lot # 1166 (Sale Order: 331 of 393)      

Composite German Kar 98k Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #8959e, 8x57mm, 23.6" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set, inverted "V" front sight and adjustable tangent rear sight. A steel cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel and a steel and brass muzzle cover is attached, both are in good condition. The rear sight bed and front trigger guard locking screws are missing. Rifle is marked with original "S/147/1936" on top of the receiver ring and "Mod.98" on the left side receiver rail. A spurious "(eagle )L" stamp has been applied to the left side receiver and barrel. A serial number has been gouged out of the left side buttstock. Bolt handle has been re-stamped with a matching serial number. Condition overall is good as modified, with most of the bluing cleaned from the metal which now shows a golden toned color. Hand guard is cracked at the rear band. Wood has been sanded and stained and reshaped under the bolt handle, now good. Action operates smoothly, dark bore is fair with fair rifling. Import marks removed from right side barrel. Composite German Kar 98k Mauser Bolt Action Rifle, #2888, 8x57mm, 23.6" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set with flat buttplate, inverted "V" front sight with attached reproduction hood and adjustable tangent rear sight. A steel cleaning rod is mounted under the barrel. Condition is fair with areas of pitting and patina. Original markings have been removed and spurious "Mod.98" has been added to the left side receiver rail, "27/1939" to the top of the receiver ring, and "eagle-swastika" and "(eagle)280" stamps have been added to the receiver and barrel shank; "(eagle)/WaA 280" stamps have been applied to the buttstock. Metal parts have been re-numbered to match. A serial number has been gouged and burned from the left side buttstock, and a matching number has been stamped into the toe. Condition overall is fair. The metal has been partially refinished and now retains approx. 50% bluing with rust and patina to the buttplate. The hand guard is a later replacement. Condition of the wood is good showing stains and darkening to the finish. Dark bore rates as poor with pitting. Action operates smoothly but the bolt stop is jammed and can only be operated with effort. No visible import marks. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R/PPT)

WWII German Spreewerk cyq P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #5253s, 9mm, 4.9" barrel, blued finish, ribbed Bakelite grips, drift adjustable blade front sight and fixed rear sight with U-shaped groove. Pistol also features a hammer drop safety, lanyard loop, and includes one blued steel magazine. Magazine spine with "(eagle)88" waffenamt. Pistol is marked on right side of slide with Nazi eagle firing proof, three "(eagle)88" waffenamts, and "asterisk". There is an additional "(eagle)88" waffenamt on left side of the frame. Matching numbers on barrel, frame, slide, and locking block. No import marks. Condition is good. Approx. 80%-85% metal finish remains, showing wear and patina to the front grip strap, and edgewear to parts of the slide. Finish has thinned on parts of the barrel which now has scattered small spots of oxidation. Factory lettering is clear as are most of the proof marks. There is a piece missing from the upper back edge of the left grip. Otherwise, both show moderate handling wear. Action, hold open, and hammer drop all function properly. Bore is bright with well-defined rifling and rates near excellent overall. Magazine was likely cold blued, finish is light and has a mottled appearance. Est.: $600-$900. (C&R/PPT)

Original paint 40% with surface rust overall, especially on top of dome, heavy scratches and scuffs. Paint has darkened with age and patina. M16 liner present is original in dry cracked condition, two of three pillows still in place, liner band attached as original. 'ET 66' stamped in skirt, name 'E. Gronser' and '11.178.' written in black paint on rear of skirt with no other visible markings. Heavy surface rust and staining present on all of interior of shell. Est.: $150-$300.

Lot of Two (2) WWII German Luftwaffe (Air force) Single Decal M-40 Helmets: 1) Original textured dark field gray paint 30+%, with scratches, surface rust and wear on dome and exterior. Original Luftwaffe (Air force) decal 40+% complete with much discoloring. Original leather liner in complete poor condition, some drying, mildew and flaking, no drawstring and broken chinstrap is present. Interior paint shows some surface rust with no dome stamp present. 'N172' lot stamp, no other stamps or markings are visible. 2) Original textured dark field gray paint 70+%, with surface rust and different colored wear or paint spot on top of dome. Shell looks also to have a light coating of varnish over the exterior. Original Luftwaffe (Air force) decal is present on left side and in excellent nearly complete condition 90+%. Original leather liner in complete mildly worn condition, some drying and dirt "Steinl" inked on liner, has original drawstring. Complete chinstrap is present showing moderate wear. Interior paint shows some varnish or other substance applied around interior of skirt. No dome stamp present. Size stamp 'Q64' and lot number 'N266' stamped in real of skirt, no other stamps or markings are visible. Est: $250-$400/Lot.

Lot of Two (2) WWII German Helmets: 1) Single Decal M-42 Helmet, repainted in dark gray-green paint 95% exterior and interior, looks to have another layer of paint under this coat. Right side has non-standard emblem decal in place, possibly 'RAD' in 90% condition. Original pigskin leather liner in complete poor condition without drawstring, 'Fw. Muller' name painted on rear of skirt. WWII leather chinstrap present in very dry, poor condition. Shell size and maker are not readable thru repaint. Looks to be a late-war reissued paramilitary helmet. 2) Double Decal M-40 Helmet. Exterior matte green paint shows many spots of rust, scratches, large and small dents, approx. 60% complete. Post-war Norwegian crown over lion decals on both sides. A colored cloth band is installed around the helmet - looks to be some sort of maneuver band in very worn condition. Replaced Norwegian leather liner in complete dry condition with drawstring and non-original chinstrap, shell marked size '56' in black ink and '56' stamped on liner, with no other visible markings. WWII German Double Decal Non-Standard M-42 Helmet. Entire shell, interior and exterior surface, has been spray painted in a light gray color that has about 85% coverage, looks to have originally been painted Heer (Army) dark green. There looks to be repairs in the shell with some type of dent or hole filler. Left side has non-standard emblem decal in place - a black shield with the 'Gebirgsjaeger Edelweiss' emblem in the center in 90% condition. This emblem is not a known standard design and needs more research to verify its originality. Tri-Color National shield decal on right side in about 60+% condition and reapplied over the gray paint. The original medium tan leather liner nearly complete is lightly worn, with a piece of twine for a drawstring. The liner has two ink stamped size stamps - black '56' in a circle and large '56' in brown ink and 'Bittdner' name also inked on the leather. WWII leather chinstrap present in dry but solid condition. Shell size '4631' and maker 'hkb 64' are readable through the repaint. Looks to possibly be a late-war reissued paramilitary or veteran's helmet.  Est.: $200-$300.

Hungarian Frommer Stop by Femaru Semi-Automatic Pistol, #329118, .32 ACP cal., 3.7" barrel, blue finish, vertically ribbed hardwood two-piece "FS" monogram grips, 7-rd. Frommer marked blue steel magazine, lanyard loop and grip safety. Lot includes a period brown leather flap holster in good condition with an additional Frommer marked 7-rd. magazine. Mfg'd 1912-1945. Pistol is in near fine overall condition, retaining 80%-90% thinning factory finish, with holster wear at the muzzle, even edgewear along the slide, and scattered spots of surface rust. Straps and trigger guard show thinning finish, edgewear and spots of light rust. Markings are clear. Grips are very good with flattening of the ribs and the monograms are nearly illegible. Bore is good with frosting and defined rifling. Action is sticky and would benefit from a thorough cleaning. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)

Iver Johnson Excel Single Shot Shotgun, #E79677D, 12 ga., 30" barrel, blue finish on barrel and color case hardened receiver, smooth hardwood two-piece pistol grip stock, brass bead front sight, legible factory markings. Mfg'd in the 1930's. Shotgun is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 90% thinning blue on the barrel, with scrapes, scratches, and scattered surface rust. Receiver, hammer and trigger guard all show muted color case hardening with light scattered surface rust and erosion. Stock is about fair, proud at the tang, with a 2" lateral crack on the right side of the tang. Butt ends with a ribbed plastic buttplate, providing a 14" LOP. Stock is only fair with indentations, bruises, and a 3" lateral crack on the right side of the bottom tang. Buttplate is missing with bare wood, providing a 12.25" LOP. Winchester Model 1200 Slide-Action Shotgun, #L592737, 20 ga., 28" barrel, blue finish, machine checkered hardwood two-piece pistol grip stock, steel bead front sight, jeweled bolt, clear factory markings with Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver. Mfg'd 1964-1981. Shotgun is in excellent overall condition, retaining 98%-99% factory finish, showing little use. Stock is also near excellent with light scuffs and handling marks, particularly on the right side of the buttstock. Butt ends with a Winchester marked ventilated rubber recoil pad, providing a 14" LOP. Bore is very good. Action is slightly stiff and would benefit from a thorough cleaning. Est.: $200-$400. Winchester Model 1200 Magnum Slide-Action Shotgun, #L505727, 12 ga., 30" vent rib barrel, blue finish, checkered composite wood grain two-piece pistol grip stock with Winchester Recoil Reduction System, factory jeweled bolt, chambered for 3" shells with a Full choke, clear factory markings, with sharp Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and receiver. Mfg'd 1964-1980. Shotgun is in very good overall condition, retaining 90%-92% thinning factory finish, with scrapes and rubs along the barrel, worse on the right side. Receiver shows edgewear and a larger scrape on the left side. Bottom metal and trigger guard show edgewear. Stock is very good with sharp checkering, showing light scuffs and scrapes. Faux wood grain figure is interesting, with the Winchester recoil reduction system in the butt which ends with a thin Winchester buttplate, providing a 14" LOP. Shotgun is in near excellent overall condition, retaining 97%-98% factory finish, with small marks and scattered spots of light corrosion on the barrel at the breech. High Standard Model B-US Semi-Automatic Pistol, #108469, .22 LR cal., 4.5" barrel, Patridge type front and square-notch fixed rear sights, blue finish, checkered hard rubber H.S. monogram grips, and an unmarked 10-rd. magazine. Pistol is marked "PROPERTY OF U.S." on the right barrel lug with a crossed cannons ordnance stamp underneath. Left barrel lug is marked "MADE IN U.S.A./HIGH STANDARD MFG. CORP./NEW HAVEN CONN." Mfg'd 1942. Pistol is in fine overall condition, showing wear and toning finish along the barrel, small scratches, and mars consistent with carry and use. There is minor roughness and pinprick pitting around the muzzle, with scattered light surface erosion on the slide and frame. Front and rear grip straps are thinning, with minor edgewear. The checkered hard rubber grips are very good and fit well. Bore is very good, and the action is crisp on this desirable WWII era Hi-Standard, one of 14,000 made for the U.S. government during 1942-1943. Est.: $500-$700. (C&R/PPT)

Mfg'd 1947. Pistol is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 85%-87% factory high-gloss blue finish, with significant wear and thinning on both sides of the barrel and at the muzzle. Left side of the barrel lug is marked "MADE IN U.S.A./THE HIGH STANDARD MFG. CO./NEW HAVEN CONN." The checkered walnut grips are very good and fit well. High Standard Model B Semi-Automatic Pistol, #45401, .22 LR cal., 4.5" barrel, blade front and drift adjustable rear sights, factory ribbed trigger, blue finish, checkered walnut two-piece grips, with one correct two-tone unmarked 10-rd. magazine. Mfg'd 1939. Pistol is in very good overall condition, retaining 80%-85% thinning blue finish, with wear at the muzzle, light surface rust on the front sight, and moderate edgewear on the slide and frame. There is a small patch of pinprick pitting at the right rear of the frame and a 2nd small area on the right side of the slide. Left side of the barrel lug is marked "MADE IN U.S.A./THE HIGH STANDARD MFG. CO. /NEW HAVEN CONN." Grips straps are a mixture of thinning blue drifting to gray patina. The checkered wood grips are very good and retain a significant amount of original varnish. Bore is good and the action functions well on this early WWII era Hi-Standard. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R/PPT)
