Ancient Pottery Jar Machang Phase (c. 2300 -2000 BC) Majiayao Culture
{shipping arranged by auction house or free local pick up} Card Accompanying this piece says "This ancient pottery jar was created over 4000 years ago during the Machang Phase (c. 2300 -2000 BC) of the Majiayao culture, also known as the Gansu-Yangshao culture, from present day Gansu or Qinghai province. It is relatively highly-fired at approx 1000 degrees. The body of the vessel has a wonderful form, one of my favorites examples from the collection. This vessel is completely intact and has almost no decay at all, it is MINT.
