Hardwood grips are very good with a partially visible inspector's cartouche on the right grip panel. Markings are sharp with "D.F.C." on the bottom flat of the frame and also on the bottom of the barrel at the breech ("P" proof in front of initials). Action is crisp. Rare Cogswell & Harrison Marked Colt Single Action Army 1st Generation Single Action Revolver

Rare London Shipped Cogswell & Harrison Marked Colt Single Action Army 1st Generation Single Action Revolver with Factory Letter, #121706, .44-40 cal., 7.5" barrel, nickel finish, checkered hard rubber two-piece eagle grips, blade front sight, fixed "U"-notched rear sight, with studs for shoulder stock. All-matching visible serial numbers. Mfg'd 1887. Revolver is in fine to near excellent overall condition, retaining most of the flaking nickel finish, with scattered scratches and a few spots of flaking finish along the barrel. Cylinder shows minor leading edge wear with a faint index line at the rear. Nitre blue screw heads are near excellent. Trigger guard is marked ".44" on the left side, shows a freckling of corrosion, and the front strap displays thinning nickel finish drifting to brown patina. Factory lettering is clear. Top strap is marked "COGSWELL & HARRISON. / 226. STRAND. LONDON.", with English proofs on the cylinder. Grips are near excellent with fine checkering detail, sharp Rampant Colt, and eagle emblems. Action functions well with very good timing. Bore is fine with well-defined rifling. The Colt factory letter confirms all features including factory nickel finish and indicates that it was shipped to the Colt London Agency, London, England on September 8, 1887, in a shipment of 25 guns. Includes photos from an older publication showing the revolver in an English case, attributed to the famous Mel Guy Collection. Attributed to the famous Ray Vanyek Collection, to whom the factory letter is addressed. This is an outstanding and scarce SAA that deserves further research. Est.: $15,000-$20,000. (Antique)...more

Sharps U.S. New Model 1859 Single Shot Carbine, #NVSN, .50-70 cal., 22" barrel, blue & case color finish, walnut stock, blade front sight, and an open "V" rear sight. Receiver was arsenal converted from percussion to cartridge circa 1868 and has "14" stamped behind the breech, the serial number was removed. Lockplate is marked "SHARPS' PAT./OCT. 5th 1852" and "R.S. LAWRENCE PAT./APRIL (unreadable)". Barrel is marked "NEW MODEL 1859" behind the rear sight with "T(star)S" in front. A "34" is stamped under the handguard. Rear sight base is marked "R.S. LAWRENCE/PATENTED/FEB. 15th 1859" and works properly. Blue and case colors have gone to a pleasing patina overall. Stock has a boxed cartouche and number "14" under the sling bar, and "DFC" (David F. Clark) in a banner in the center of the buttstock, all on the left side. Composite Allen & Wheelock Single Shot Center Hammer Muzzle Loading Percussion Rifle, #NVSN, .38 cal., 30" octagon barrel, brown finish, smooth hardwood straight grip buttstock with German silver patchbox, dovetailed German silver blade front sight, fixed "V"-notch rear sight, iron mounts, with a full-length hardwood ramrod. Barrel address reads "ALLEN & WHEELOCK / WORCESTER". Rifle is in good overall condition with the metal surfaces having gone to a dark brown patina with general wear and scattered areas of erosion. There are dents and dings near the hammer and the nipple is reduced, showing moderate to heavy rust. Action extends through the wrist into the straight grip butt. Hammer is correctly center mounted and slightly offset to the right to accommodate sighting. Barrel however appears to be from another model Allen & Wheelock, possibly a side hammer muzzle loader based on the style, length and caliber. Stock is in very good condition with indentations, bruises, and loss of wood at the toe. Mountings are iron with the ramrod sleeves, finger rest trigger guard, and buttplate all displaying a dark patina. German silver patchbox is sharp and functions well. Action functions well and holds at half and full-cock. Bore is dark, showing moderate to heavy erosion. An interesting composite Allen & Wheelock. Engraved Colt 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver, #44483, .36 cal., 7.5" octagon barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, smooth two-piece ivory grips, brass pin front and...more fixed "V"-notch hammer rear sight, with small brass trigger guard. All-matching serial numbers, including the wedge and arbor. Mfg'd 1855. Revolver is in very good overall condition with the metal surfaces having gone to an even gray patina. Barrel shows cleaning with pinprick pitting on both sides, sharp edges, and some chemical coloration treatment added. Frame displays traces of smoky color case hardened finish, which is an even gray with areas of minor surface erosion. Cylinder shows areas of pinprick pitting and legible serial number, retaining 65%-70% naval cylinder scene, partial Ormsby signature and engagement date. Revolver displays typical Gustave Young style punch dot and scroll engraving with a dog icon in front of the wedge, and wolf heads on both sides of the hammer. The nipples are all intact and not deformed, while the safety tabs are hammered flat. Left side of the frame shows a crisp hand-cut "COLT'S PATENT". Straps have been cleaned and chemical color added. Screw heads are very good, engraved on the right side. Grips are very good with numerous age cracks and a pleasing taffy patina. They show the expected shrinkage from age and appear to have been on the pistol for a long time. Action functions well and holds at both positions. Bore is fair with scattered shallow pitting and visible rifling. Includes a Colt factory letter, informing that this revolver will not letter. Est.: $3,000-$4,000. (Antique)

Pocket Army Double Action Revolver, #8442, .44-40 cal., 3-5/16" full-lug barrel, nickel finish, checkered hard rubber two-piece bird's head grips with skull crusher, top strap, conventional cylinder flutes, folding hammer spur, blade front and fixed "V"-notch rear sight. Barrel address is partially legible. Marked "CALIBRE / WINCHESTER / 1873" on the left side of the frame. Right side of the frame is marked "MERWIN HULBERT & CO. N.Y. / POCKET ARMY". Mfg'd circa 1880's. The revolver is in very good overall condition, retaining a considerable amount of old, renickeled finish with wear and pinprick pitting at the muzzle, edges of the frame and barrel lug. Frame shows some areas of light erosion. Trigger guard and trigger display muted smoky color case hardened finish. Grips are in very good condition with minor smoothing of the checkering, and a small chip at the right toe. Action functions well with good timing. Factory markings are clear, with sharp Colt patent dates and Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Mfg'd 1894. Revolver is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 50%-60% thinning blue. Barrel and ejector rod housing with wear and knackering at the muzzle and light scratches. Cylinder has gone to gray patina with considerable toning finish in the flutes, showing leading edge wear, and an index line. There is significant original blue finish at the trigger guard with the straps gone to darker gray patina. Frame shows traces of silvered smoky gray color case hardened finish with scattered spots of surface erosion. Replacement hammer shows muted case hardened finish. Grips are in fine original condition with smoothing of the checkering, interior of the left panel lightly marked with the matching serial number. Action functions well with very good timing. Bore is good with scattered light erosion, and defined rifling. Includes a vintage Ideal bullet mold, original hammer, small bag of spent brass, and 8lbs of lead bullets. Est.: $2,000-$2,500. Factory markings are clear, with "SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS. U.S.A. PAT. JULY 10. 60. JAN. 17. FEB. 17. JULY 11. 65 & AUG. 24. 69." on top of the barrel. Mfg'd circa 1872-1874. Revolver is in good overall condition, retaining 20%-30% flaking nickel finish with mottled dark metal underneath, scattered spots of corrosion. The barrel address is legible. The cylinder shows heavy wear with traces of original finish and dark patinated metal surfaces. The straps have gone to brown patina with traces of original finish. The hammer displays traces of silvered, toned color case hardened finish going to dark patina. The grips are in very good condition, displaying a pleasing taffy patina with age cracks at the bases and minor shrinkage consistent with age. Factory markings are clear with all matching visible serial numbers, "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side of the barrel, and a crisp Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Mfg'd 1905. Revolver is in fine overall condition, retaining approx. 93%-94% thinning factory finish on the barrel, cylinder and straps. There is light wear at the muzzle and minor scratches. Cylinder shows moderate leading edge wear, wear around the flutes and faint index line. Straps show considerable thinning original finish with minor marks. Receiver retains approx. 70%-80% muted color case hardened finish with brighter colors in the protected areas. Interior of the loading gate is marked "121". Trigger and back side of the hammer display bright fire blue finish. Grips are in fine condition with minor marks and a small horizontal crack at the front strap on the right panel. Factory lettering is clear, with sharp "32 CAL" marking on the bottom of the cartridge elevator. Mfg'd 1883. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining traces of original finish on the barrel, with the remainder going to dark patina showing wear at the muzzle, edge wear and scattered areas of light surface erosion. Receiver has drifted to brown/gray patina with edge wear, scratches, and handling marks. Brass elevator is well marked, has taken on a pleasing taffy patina, and functions smoothly. Lever and hammer shows muted smoky color case hardened finish. Stock is in very good condition with indentations, scratches, and bruising consistent with years of carry and use. There is a 4.5" chip along the wood line on the left side of the forend. Wood to metal fit is very good with some oil staining at the wrist and the buttplate is proud at the toe. Buttstock ends with a smooth steel crescent buttplate, providing a 12.5" LOP. Action functions well and locks up securely. Bore is fair, showing moderate to heavy erosion, rifling remains visible. Top of the receiver is marked "MARLIN SAFETY". Mfg'd 1893. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 10%-15% thinning factory finish, with the majority on the underside of the barrel, in the protected areas. Barrel and magazine show scratches, stains, and minor surface erosion. Factory markings are clear. Front sight hood is crude and appears to be brazed onto the barrel. Receiver shows traces of original finish drifting to brown patina with edge wear and indentations, primarily on the right side. Lever and hammer display attractive muted smoky gray color case hardened finish. Tang with a few replacement screws. Stock is fine, with light indentations, compressions, and an extra coat of varnish, ending with a color case hardened crescent steel buttplate, providing a 13" LOP. Action functions well and locks up securely. Bore is good with light erosion and wear, displaying shallow rifling. Hammer and lever display vibrant color case hardened finish. Receiver shows areas of fine pinprick pitting under the new finish. Factory lettering is clear. With added Marble's tang sight. Mfg'd 1905. Rifle is in near fine overall condition, retaining approx. 40%-50% thinning and toning blue, with some areas of light erosion. Special Order Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle, #182147, .38-40 cal., 26" octagon barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, smooth walnut two-piece straight grip stock, dovetailed German silver knife blade front sight, and buckhorn rear sight with elevator. Factory markings are crisp with "MARLIN SAFETY" across the top of the receiver. Mfg'd 1899. Rifle is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 25%-30% original finish, drifting to dark patina on the barrel and magazine. There is some mild surface erosion, edge wear, and dried oil along the barrel. Receiver displays considerable dark, smoky color case hardened finish, brighter on the hammer and in the protected areas of the lever assembly. Left side of the receiver shows some fine pinprick pitting, as does the bolt. Tang remains well marked, "MODEL 1894". Stock with indentations, scratches, and an added coat of varnish. There is a small chip at the receiver on the left side of the forend and another at the tip of the comb. Wood-to-metal fit is good with some darker oil staining at the wrist. Buttstock ends with a smooth steel crescent buttplate, slightly proud at the toe, providing a 13" LOP. Action functions smoothly and locks up securely. Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine with Compass in the Stock, #360460, .30 W.C.F. cal., 20" barrel, blue finish, straight grip walnut stock and forend with hard rubber Winchester buttplate, replacement blade front sight with small white bead, "V"-notched ladder rear sight, with saddle ring. A small compass has been inlaid into the top edge of the buttstock. Winchester proofs are located on top of the receiver and on top of the barrel in front of the rear sight. Mfg'd 1907. Condition is good. Barrel and magazine tube retain approx. 35%-40% thinning and toning blue mixed with brown patina. Receiver has worn to gray and brown patina with spots of mild surfaces erosion, particularly on the left side. Factory lettering is clear. Wood shows age and wear that is consistent with the rest of the rifle. Right side of the forend with a 2" crack in front of the barrel band. Compass is not frozen. Scarce Winchester "Double W" 1902 Pattern "Cartridge Board". These lithograph boards were produced circa 1902 and do not have any physical cartridges. The board features ...morethe illustration "Success" by A.B Frost and pictures of 235 Winchester items. It is held in a replacement hardwood frame. Approx. measurements of the lithograph are 39-1/14" x 49-1/8" and OAL measurements are 33-3/8" x 51-1/8". Overall condition is poor. There are several areas of missing material, edge wear, creases (most notably a large center crease), small nail holes, scrapes and abrasions to the finish. There is also waviness to the print and nails have been used to attach it to the frame. The frame is cracked and missing a 2-1/2" x 1/2" piece of wood on the upper left corner, all 4 corners are loose and have begun to separate. Hard to find in any condition. Est.: $500-$750.

Unmarked German Zimmerstutzen Single Shot Parlor Rifle, #NVSN, 4mm Flobert cal., 25" fluted octagon barrel with an 8" functional portion and chamber at the muzzle, rust b...morelue finish, relief engraved with oak leaves surrounding shooter and target scenes on the sides of the color case hardened receiver. Wood consists of finely carved checkered walnut with exaggerated cheekpiece, right hand thumb rest, and Swiss style buttplate. There is no front sight with a vacant dovetail and missing tang sight. Stylized trigger guard with double set triggers, and lever action on the underside of the barrel. Mfg'd circa late 19th Century. Rifle is in fine overall condition, with the metal surfaces drifting to brown patina. Receiver, trigger guard, and tang display toning and muted color case hardening. Barrel, trigger guard, and buttplate show scattered light to moderate surface rust. Schuetzen style stock is fine with scratches and indentations. Swiss style buttplate has drifted to dark patina and provides a 12.75" LOP to the front trigger. Action functions smoothly. Bore is fair with moderate erosion and wear, displaying visible rifling. Includes a period wooden case with a large supply of 4mm lead balls, (4) tins of 4mm Flobert cartridges, (7) period sighting pieces, cleaning rod with jag, brush and assorted accessories.
