This lot is for a vintage walnut mallard duck with glass eyes. Irv Phillips is inscribed "Mallard" Butternut #38 on bottom of the duck. Phillip is a Wisconsin native who ...morewas a renown avid wood carver known for detailed carving & folk art. The carving is in nice shape but they're a few scratches on the top of the duck. A nice selection of special pieces that includes an antique Redware unglazed 3-handle jug which shows it's early production age. This primitive creation is a example of e...morearly redware. Redware is one-if not the earliest potterys created for the American settlers (6" x 6" x 7.5"). The Redware glazed dish with a creative design is in very nice conditon. Great for a collector. Inscription on bottom includes the date June 26, 1984 and "nice summer day" (9.5" x 6.5" x 1.5"). The large black painted glazed red clay pottery vase has a nice design on the vase (8.5" x 8.5" x 10").

The vintage lot offers a USA brown stoneware salad plate, a lidded brown stoneware sugar bowl and a brown stoneware two-handled vase with floral inset. The 7.5" plate is ...moremarked as Oven Proof. It does have a faint crack and shows some glaze staining on the back side. The USA Brown Stoneware Sugar Bowl with Lid is marked Oven Proof and is in good condition (4" x 4" x 4.5"). The two handled vase has a unique design and is in good condition (5.5" x 2.5" x 7").

The dragon stoneware hand thrown pot shows some staining but is an attractive piece with bands and color delineation (7" x 7" x 6.5). The corncob creamer is redware and i...mores signed by the artist in 1985. There are no flaws (5" x 4" x 3"). The glazed ceramic bowl with flowers has a minor visible crack in the side wall but is not chipped. (8" x 8" x 3")

The stoneware bean pot with lid is a staple of any farmhouse kitchen. The glaze on the bean pot shows some dripping down the side but no flaws are seen (9.75" x 8.5" x 5"...more). The old spitoon has no flaws but show some rough stoneware production. (6.25" x 6.25" x 4.5")

The Jamestown pottery crock is a small piece with blue band and nice markings on the bottom of the piece. It has no flaws (3.5" x 3.5" x 3). The marked "The Prairie Schoo...morel" circle pottery bowl is indicative of the prairie style of pottery that incorporates the architecture elements of simplicity, geometric forms and an integration with nature. It's in nice condition (8.5" x 8.5" x 2.5"). The attractive pottery vase compliments nature with its creation, simple style and earth tone colors. It's in good condition (3.5" x 3.5" x 5").

Small brown and cream glazed baking pot with lid shows no flaws (7" x 5" x 4.5"); The brown glazed spitoon is in good condition and while its original use is not practica...morel, it could serve as a serving pot, planter or floral container (7.5" x 7.5" x 4.5"). The small stoneware custard cup with brown and cream bands at the rim of the makes this a charming collectible piece a perfect serving dish (3.5" x 3.5" x 3). The USA lidded bean pot or lidded casserole dish shows one pottery firing mistake but otherwise, this piece in good condition (8" x 8" x 5").

The lot of 4 brown stoneware pieces are in good condition. The soup and the vegetable pot are made by Hull & are marked as oven proof. The serving bowl and the salad plate show the gloss of the glaze. The plate does show some scratches on the surface from use. So versatile and common in the farmhouse kitchen.
