U.S. military post-Cold War Howitzer M1A1 and M1A1C Wooden crate well marked for holding 75mm blank rounds. The wood is in very good shape and the crate is well marked. The hinges, and lock are in good shape. Contents include 15 coundt 75mm blank shells in ½ of their individual container tubes. Exterior of all are fairly clean, with one or two looking a bit rough. A nice piece for display, or to part out. Crate dimensions: 22.5" x 13.5" x 9.5". Please see photos for condition.

James retired from the US Air Force January 1, 1998. Collection includes: 1) Best of Luck plaque presented to him by the 434th Civil Engineering Squadron, Grissom ARB, IN. on 1 January 1998. 2) US Air Force Visor Cap with nametag inside “James CL SSGT” Size 6-7/8. 3) Large folder containing Certificate of Retirement for SMS Charles L. James from US Air Force. Accompanied by Certificate of Appreciation from Commander in Chief Bill Clinton. Dimensions of folder: 12 in wide x 15 in tall. 4) Wooden display for SMSGT Charles L. James in recognition of his devotion and commitment to duty from the 434th CES Structures Shop. Tastfully arranged are his service ribbons flanked by the array of rank insignia, badge and plaque. Above the central display is a US Flag folded and encased. This is a very well-built display that also lights up. Combat Infantry Badge is sterling with sterling clutch back fasteners. Pair of 161st Infantry Distinctive Unite lapel insignia. Served 18 months overseas. 2) Ike jacket, trousers and overseas cap. This SSG uniform named to L.O. Turnowski. Recipient of the Silver Star Medal, and Korea Service Medal has two service stars. Bullion 25th Division patch on left shoulder sleeve. Very nice silver bullion Combat Infantry Badge sewn onto jacket. Overseas cap has nice blue lining and owners name written on tag. A nice pair of mid-century Tropic Lightning uniforms.

First looks to be a set of purchased photo prints. 38 in all. Of combat as well as its aftermath. Small booklet of photos from Bear Photo Service contains 11 photo prints inside. Groups of Navy soldiers posing in front of destroyed artillery, in vehicles, on Navy Base. Location unclear. Largest group of approx. 71 photo prints includes a wide selection of stereotypical South Pacific images, including many photos of native men and women of the region. Groups of sailors carrying out work, having fun, in groups. Several photos of a specific sailor wearing nothing but a grass skirt and smoking a pipe, as well as him in other group shots. Images of bombers, land vehicles and landing craft. Two group photos of sailors in front of tent w/ sign -73rd N.C.B. Electrical Shop- . Stag pommel. Flat ground upswept blade, checkered file work on the spine Blade has been heavily sharpened, tip broken off. Blade is cloudy with grind, sharpening marks. Very collectable and sought after.
