Octagonal barrel, side pivot, rosewood grips, Large marked "SOUTHERNER" on barrel, "Merrimack Arms and Mfg., Co./Newburyport Mass./Patented April 9,1867, iron frame, Serial Number 1367. This firearm is in very good to fine condition with light pitting in bore and overall mixed grey toning. The hammer cocks crisply and the barrel swings smoothly. The rosewood grips are nicely intact with small surface imperfections....more

S&W Model 1902 W/ Holster .38S&W Special

Lot # 12 (Sale Order: 6 of 252)      

This is an unusual piece as it comes with a holster that is marked "T. Wintermuth/Ariz-Rangers/Prescott/Ariz-Terr/1910" on the inside flap of the holster. The revolver is a model 1902 Military and Police .38 S&W Special. 5" Barrel, hard black rubber grips, the bore is bright with some light pitting. The exterior is largely browned patina with little remaining blued finish. The arm appears to function normally S/n 27249. (As a side note, the Arizona Rangers were formed in 1901 and disbanded in 1909, and there is not a Wintermuth listed on the roster of the Rangers in this time period)...more
