This magnificent late nineteenth century art nouveau sculpture entitled "Inamorata" speaks for itself. It is made from Italian Voltera alabaster. The workmanship is superior. The statue is believed to have been sculpted in a school, perhaps by either a team of sculptures and/or by students of the time under the guidance of a master sculpture. "Inamorata" sits on beautiful, pillar with intricate carved rings. Above all it is unique with its flowing purple gown. You will not easily find a sculpture with this striking quality. This elegant sculpture will be a conversation piece in any setting. If you want to create a truly rich, elegant and classic feel to your decor "Inamorata" will exalt and magnify any setting.

Vintage Capodimonte Porcelain Lamp with Gold Leaf

Capodimonte porcelain is porcelain created in the Capodimonte manufactory which was established in Naples, Italy in 1743. Capodimonte porcelain was made in direct emulation and competition with Meissen porcelain. Capodimonte is famous for its molded figures and decorative flowers applied to cups, vases and lamps along with the skillful and artistic use of gold leaf which this lamp contains. In 1867 Alfonso Majello was knighted “Cavalier Del Lavoro” He founded the Majello factory which produces Capodimonte porcelain today. This lamp is from the 50’s and 60’s. This item is not being produced to day. When the son of the founder of Capodimonte retired, he threw away all the catalogues and catalogue sheets. This lamp is certainly a conversation piece, and would certainly enrich any compatible décor.

Flying Horses in a Night Sky depicts a dream like atmosphere. This 13 ¾” x 10 ¾ surrealistic painting glows with movement and excitement. Its artist, Jean Calogero was an Italian painter, who is internationally known. Since his demise, Mr. Calogero’s surrealistic work has been very much in demand. Numerous works have been sold. On a rainy day in October 1952 I met Jean Calogero, introduced to me by a common friend. He asked me for an opinion on a monograph of his from which I deduced that his talent and his artistic work can have world resonance. FILLIPPO DE PISIS {Testimony 1953).

This pen and ink drawing is an architectural type drawing of a sugar bowl, or other decorative container used by the gentry during the renaissance period.
