HISTORY: The Winchester Model 1892, or Model 92, lever-action rifle was designed by John Moses Browning and manufactured from 1892 to 1941. The Model 1892 became a Western icon after being featured in many Hollywood movies and TV shows, including Stagecoach. John Wayne famously carried Model 1892s in many of his films and also owned several personally. It was also used by celebrities such as Annie Oakley and Arctic explorer, Admiral Robert Peary.
