Collection of six unissued US Medals in their original presentation cases. All are tied to Occupation Service (Germany, Japan) and Arctic and Antarctic service. 1) Army of Occupation of Germany Medal. Established by an Act of Congress on November 21, 1941. It recognized service in Germany or Austria-Hungary between November 12, 1918 and July 11, 1923. Case includes full size medal, ribbon bar and lapel button. Dimensions: 4.25”x7”x1”. 2) Army of Occupation Medal WWII. Established by the United States War Department on 5 April 1946.[2] The medal was created in the aftermath of the Second World War to recognize those who had performed occupation service in either Germany, Italy, Austria, Japan or Korea. . Case includes full size and miniature medal, ribbon bar and lapel button. Dimensions: 4.25”x7”x1”. 3) Navy Occupation Service Medal has same criteria as Army medal issued at the time. Case includes full size and miniature medal, ribbon bar and lapel button. Dimensions: 4.25”x7”x1”. 4) Marine Corps Occupation Service Medal has same criteria as Army medal issued at the time. Case includes full size and miniature medal, ribbon bar and lapel button. Dimensions: 4.25”x7”x1”. 5) Coast Guard Arctic Service Medal established on 20 May 1976. Awarded to any member of the United States Coast Guard who performs twenty-one days of non-consecutive duty afloat or ashore north of the Arctic Circle. Air crews flying in and out of areas north of the Arctic Circle may also be awarded the medal for 21 days of non-consecutive service. Case includes full size and miniature medal, ribbon bar and lapel button. Dimensions: 4.25”x7”x1”. 6) Antarctica Service Medal (ASM) established 7 July 1960. Intended as a military award to replace several commemorative awards which had been issued for previous Antarctica expeditions from 1928 to 1941. Case includes full size and miniature medal. Dimensions: 4.25”x7”x1”. Some of the case exteriors exhibit shelf wear. Please see photos for condition.
