In addition to the 'hammer-down' price, the charge will include any applicable taxes, buyer's premium and shipping costs, per the details of the auction listing. SALES TAX: Michigan residents will be assessed a 6% sales tax, unless we have a TAX ID exemption on file at the time of the auction. (Coin auctions are exempt from tax.) PAYMENT IS DUE before any shipments are made - no exceptions.

Shipping Instructions: IF YOU ARE LOCAL TO THE SHOP: We will assume you prefer local pickup if you are within a 20-minute drive of our store. Please let us know if you prefer us to ship your package, instead. EVERYBODY ELSE: Orders will start processing and shipping within three to four business days following the close of the auction. We ship with both FEDEX and the US Postal Service, looking for the best balance of speed vs. cost, and will do our darnedest to keep shipping costs low. BTTP auctions charge a minimum $6.00 shipping fee, further calculated to exact rates. Note that oversized items like racks, framed pictures or other large items will significantly impact shipping costs, so take that into consideration while you are bidding. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS: We ship all packages tracked and insured and will not lie about the contents on customs forms. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you want us to falsify shipping information, you are dealing with the wrong auctioneer.
Preview Date & Times: All BTTP auctions allow a one hour window prior to the official 'live bid' time for on site bidder registration and item inspection. Call us toll-free at 866-GADZOOKS! (423-9665) during the inspection period with questions on lots.
Checkout Date & Times: Verification & invoicing will happen in approximately 48-72 hours following the auction, at which time we calculate exact shipping and email the invoice. Once you've received this email, we will bill your credit card and ship out your package.

All lots are sold AS-IS WHERE-IS. Auction items are open to thorough public inspection before every auction. It is the Bidder’s responsibility to determine condition, age, genuineness, value or any other determinative factor. Back to the Past (BTTP) may attempt to describe the merchandise in advertising, on the Internet and at the auction but makes no representations. In no event shall BTTP be held responsible for having made or implied any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Bidder shall be the sole judge of value. Bidders who bid from off site and are not present at the live auction or preview understand and acknowledge that they may not be able to inspect an item as well as if they examined it in person. BTTP shall endeavor to describe in detail each item and any pertinent information about it. BTTP will not be responsible for any errors or omissions in the description of the merchandise unless it is a material and intentional misrepresentation of the item itself. BTTP is providing Internet pre-auction and live bidding as a service to Bidder. Bidder acknowledges and understands that this service may or may not function correctly the day of the auction. Under no circumstances shall Bidder have any kind of claim against BTTP if the Internet service fails to work correctly before or during the live auction. BTTP will not be responsible for any missed bids from any source. Internet bidders who desire to make certain their bid is acknowledged should use the proxy-bidding feature and leave their maximum bid 24 hours before the auction begins. Please make sure and read the "Terms of Sale" for bidding in our auction (at the link up above this spot you're reading). We are fairly easy to get along with and we outline our terms very clearly so there's no reason for any confusion. It makes Hulk angry when you start negotiating additional terms after winning lots in one of our auctions.

Here's a few greatest hits:

We will not ship via non-trackable "tape it to the back of a pigeon" methods for expensive items. Items over $100 ship insured, and anything over $250 requires signature confirmation of delivery. We assume you want everything to arrive safely and in one piece, and so do we. This is, unfortunately, sometimes expensive, but we are not in charge of FEDEX and USPS shipping rates. We have no hidden "per lot" fees and we will always do our best to find the best balance between being cost effective and ensuring the item arrives safely.

We have heard from a lot of Canadian bidders asking us to avoid shipping with FEDEX due to some problems it causes. You got it! We will always go with USPS First Class or Priority International when shipping to Canada.

We’re happy to save items for local pick-up, but new customers or occasional visitors have to get in touch ASAP after the auction to ensure their items are set aside. Regular locals must make arrangements for pick-up within seven days of invoicing or items will be shipped.
If you bid on this rules “lot”, we will charge your card for it (and possibly send you a printout of the stop sign clip art).
We will add to this notification lot as needed to answer common questions.
