Description
Face front, True Believers! This is not an auction to overlook: it includes both Fantastic Four #1 (the birth of Marvel Comics as we know it) and The Avengers #1 (the first assembling of Earth's Mightiest Heroes)! Those alone make this one not to be missed.
But they are just two out of over 400 lots of Golden and Silver Age comics goodness, with some Bronze and Copper keys thrown in to keep it interesting. Highlights include 1940s issues of Whiz Comics (starring Shazam), Action Comics (starring Superman), and Sensation Comics (starring Wonder Woman), plus Pre-Code horror comics, Atlas era Marvel titles, Silver Surfer #1 (1968), Superboy #2 (1949), Buck Rogers #2 (1941), Batman #181 (1st Poison Ivy), Marvel Premiere #15 (1st Iron Fist), and many more!
For local bidders, lots may be picked up starting at 12pm noon on Monday, January 9, 2022. For everyone else, shipping costs will be assessed and shipments will start going out later that day. PLEASE NOTE: our hours have changed with the New Year and we are no longer open on Saturdays. Pick-up is available Monday... Show more

***PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING***
Please make sure and read the "Terms of Sale" for bidding in our auction (at the link up above this spot you're reading). We are fairly easy to get along with and we outline our terms very clearly so there's no reason for any confusion. It makes Hulk angry when you start negotiating additional terms after winning lots in one of our auctions.
Here's a few greatest hits:
We will not ship via non-trackable "tape it to the back of a pigeon" methods for expensive items. Items over $100 ship insured, and anything over $250 requires signature confirmation of delivery. We assume you want everything to arrive safely and in one piece, and so do we. This is, unfortunately, sometimes expensive, but we are not in charge of FEDEX and USPS shipping rates. We have no hidden "per lot" fees and we will always do our best to find the best balance between being cost effective and ensuring the item arrives safely.
We have heard from a lot of Canadian bidders asking us to avoid shipping with FEDEX due to some problems it causes. You got it! We will always go with USPS First Class or Priority International when shipping to Canada.
We’re happy to save items for local pick-up, but new customers or occasional visitors have to get in touch ASAP after the auction to ensure their items are set aside. Regular locals must make arrangements for pick-up within seven days of invoicing or items will be shipped.
If you bid on this rules “lot”, we will charge your card for it (and possibly send you a printout of the stop sign clip art).
We will add to this notification lot as needed to answer common questions.
Thanks for reading and happy bidding on our auction!
