WW1 German M16/M17 Geometric Camo Finish Helmet W/Liner

WWI M16 with period painted camo finish German helmet-Colors are still fairly vibrant-Shell is maker/size stamped GL64 for the firm of Gebruder Gnüchtel-Lauter/Sachsen-Often referred to as the M17 model which was only because the liner band in the M17 versions is metal instead of leather-There are initials written inside in pencil-All three leather liner pads are present with 2 of them having separated from the liner band and could be restored. WW1 US Army Attributed 82nd Division Camo Helmet

M1917 cork finish period painted camo helmet that is attributed to Fred Neuman from Longville, MN - According to the tag that is attached to the helmet from the museum, Neuman was with the 82nd Division Company B. WW1 Grouping 78th Lightning Division-309th Heavy Field Artillery

Lot # 26 (Sale Order: 29 of 381)      

Museum acquired grouping from the estate of William L. Chandler, 78th Division, 309th Heavy Field Artillery - includes Wool tunic with US and Crossed Cannon collar discs, 78th Division Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, Service Stripe, Overseas Stripes, Wound Chevron and Sergeant Stripes. The M1917 helmet is stamped, "ZA60" in the brim and has the liner with the helmet but it is loose. The chin strap is missing. The helmet also has the Lightning Division Insignia and Crossed Cannons with 309th FA period painted opposite sides. The initials, "ACD" are scraped into the sand paint finish. An "Extracts From Manual for Army Cooks" book dated July 1917, a map of France, a picture of Chandler, four issues of The Camp Dix News from 1917, copy of discharge papers and two letters offering items from the 78th Division post war. A great grouping....more

WW2 German NSKK Overseas Cap

Black wool construction with gilt finish NSKK buttons on the front fold down flap and a grommet/hook loop on each side. The NSKK insignia is an embroidered white eagle with black a Swastika and lettering on a green triangle. The inside has the RZM tag sewn in with size 56 stamped on the tag - there is a name that is not completely legible written in the RZM tag. Cap is in excellent condition....more

WW2 Nazi Luftwaffe Officer's Overseas Cap

Lot # 30 (Sale Order: 33 of 381)      

Officer's quality Luftwaffe blue grey, wool rayon blend constructed cap. The top edge of the scalloped panels is piped in interwoven, silver - aluminum braid. The front center of the cap has a machine embroidered second pattern Luftwaffe eagle clutching a canted Swastika in one talon in pale silvery/grey cotton threads mounted on a cut out blue grey wool base. The front center of the fold down panels has a machine embroidered and padded national tri-color cockade in black, white and red rayon threads. Both the eagle and the cockade are all original hand stitching to the cap. The interior of the cap is fully lined in a light gray/cream sateen material with the original leather sweatband. The sweat band has stitch separation from the main body of the cap. The initials, “CH” are written on the inside of the leather sweatband. No apparent mothing – in excellent condition....more

WWII Nazi Reichsbahn EM/NCO Overseas Cap

A Navy blue wool/rayon blend overseas cap, introduced in June 1936 along with the new uniform and rank insignia. Its gently sloping side panels are piped along their upper edge with red rayon. The cap has a small, machine woven national eagle and swastika to its top front above a machine woven cockade. Insignia is with its original hand stitching to the cap. The interior is fully lined with grey/silver rayon with a faint maker and size stamping-Cap shows normal period wear and use with a few small moth nips....more

Nazi Naval NCO Tropical M41 Field Cap (Tropenfelddienstmütze).Typical French made cap with French maker stamps- The insignia consists of a tropical embroidered eagle and machine woven cockade on a brown background. There are two ventilation grommets on each side of the cap. The interior is lined with green cotton fabric that is marked, “APC 55” in the left panel and has an illegible stamp and “54” in the right inside top panel. There is some soiling to the cap and wear to the brim on the right side....more

In near mint condition! 4 pocket version with scalloped flaps and pleats-Machine sewn EM Coastal Artillery breast eagle over right pocket and 2 stripe Coastal Artillery Obergefreiter's Rank Chevron on the left sleeve-The shoulder boards having the two crossed unfouled anchors were used up to 1939 by the NCO instruction battalions, and later for many other units, it was the usual unit emblem when the soldier was not assigned to a KA or antiaircraft Battalion. Proper maker and size stampings in the interior lining. There is slight "picking" to the front of the collar. Scarce tunic!...more

C. E. Mace-Air Gunner -B24 "Flak Hack" 453rd Bomb Group, 733rd Bomb Squadron-Flew 32 Combat Missions with mission 24 a June 6, 1944 D-DAY mission! The squadron had to turn around due to weather-War Correspondent Paul Manning was on the aircraft-Mace was awarded the Air Medal and 3 Oak Leaf Clusters along with the Distinguished Flying Cross-All original citations are included with this grouping-Dozens of other period documents including Mace's discharge, misc. crew lists and Mace's original handwritten mission diary which has been transcripted into a word format-The original leather A-2 jacket still has the original contract tag by Rough Wear Clothing Co. and is a size 40-Cuff and waist bands appear original to the jacket and show some wear-There is a WW2 period Air Gunner's wing which is clutch back just above the original leather name tag-The "Flak Hack" nose art on the back of the jacket is still vibrant showing only minor age crazing to the paint-An amazing grouping...more

RARE! Pre WWII/1930's B-1 Leather Flight Jacket

Most likely the rarest WW2/Pre WW2 flight jacket ever produced! Leather shell still very supple-Original contract tag still present-The predecessor of the B-2 and then the B-3 and was only produced for a coiple of years in early 1930's and that production was very limited-The pocket on the left breast has been period tremoved-Interesting that that are stitch marks on the right breast indicating the presence of a WW2 period discharge "Ruptured Duck"-Extremely rare jacket...Not much research info anywhere!...more
