Rare WW2 Period Heer Double Decal Fiberglass Parade Helmet With Chin Strap By EREL

Lot # 38 (Sale Order: 54 of 224)

Extremely rare Third Reich period fiberglass helmet by EREL. These helmets were originally contracted from EREL to be shipped to South America and when WW2 started the co...morentract was nullified. Original light apple green finish exhibits moderate wear. The hand applied "decals" appear to be possibly period hand painted from the start or possibly period "retouched" as is evidenced especially in respect to the Heer decal. The shell has a metal rim along the edges which is D.R.G.M. stamped and the fiberglass body has slightly shrunk and has pulled away from the rim at the front. The few remaining examples that have been found over the years have this same "shrinkage" to one degree or another. Interior liner leather is still soft and the cork absorption pads are intact. The liner is embossed in silver with the EREL Fiber-Helm logo. The crown has the original Spanish language paper logo as it should. Rare helmet in any condition!

Scarce Heer Parade Standarte Pole Top

Lot # 44a (Sale Order: 61 of 224)

These scarce pole tops were cast aluminum. The detail is fairly crisp. There are file marks on some of the inner edges as is often found on originals. The base has the st...moreylized initials of the designer "PC". The interior of the base is rough which is a characteristic of known originals. The bottom rim stampings are in the correct period font although placement sometimes varies. There is a small piece of unfiled slag just above the Eagle's left leg talons. This pole top is attributed to being a WWII U.S. Veteran bring back! We have had many varied opinions on this particular pole top. Ranging from 100% textbook and WW2 period to Vet may have found in a reject pile due to the slag presence, to not liking the detail. Again, this pole top can be indirectly attributed to a WW2 veteran's estate. Please bid based on your own knowledge, expertise and/or research.
