1962 CHEVROLET CORVAIR 95 RAMPSIDE PICKUP

Lot # 175 (Sale Order: 88 of 178)

Chevrolet introduced the Corvair lineup for the 1960 model year as the first of a series of generations of passenger compact cars. Chevrolet introduced a more utilitarian style of vehicle the following year under the model designation Corvair 95 for its 95? wheelbase. There were essentially two different bodies available in the 95 series: the van and the truck. A Corvair truck could be ordered as a Loadside or Rampside. The Loadside was essentially a pickup truck with a standard tailgate. The Rampside had a side ramp to be used for loading and unloading cargo. These were used by the Bell Telephone Company because loading and unloading of cable drums was eased by the side ramp. The production numbers for a Corvair 95 model was from 1961-65. In 1962 only 4102 Corvair 95 Rampside trucks were built. This truck is registered in the Corvanatics Corvair 95 Registry and is one of only 101 registered. All of the registry paperwork is included. It was completely restored and is in show-quality condition. As the Trim Tag indicates this truck was born Crystal Turquoise but during the restoration it was painted the more desirable factory color combination of Woodlawn Green and Cameo White. The paint is beautiful and everything on the exterior has been replaced or restored including all the glass. It?s equipped with the custom chrome package which includes the windshield trim bumpers and hubcaps. The hubcaps are correct and have been rechromed. The truck sits on matching 14? wheels with BFGoodrich Silvertown radial tires. The factory-correct Gray and Fawn interior complements the exterior colors perfectly. Everything in the interior has been replaced or restored. It?s equipped with a rare dash-mounted clock. Everything in the interior is in working order. The rear bed was finished nicely in gray. Both the side ramp and tailgate work great. The 145ci air-cooled Turbo Air horizontally-opposed 6-cylinder engine is located in the rear of the vehicle under a slightly raised cargo floor. The engine compartment is nicely detailed and runs amazing. The engine is coupled to a 4-speed manual transmission that shifts very smoothly. This truck drives as great as it looks and draws a ton of attention. An owner?s manual service manuals extra correct rechromed hubcap and some miscellaneous parts are included. This vehicle has recently been serviced and detailed which is documented with an invoice that is included.
