Lot # 1289 (Sale Order: 51 of 259)

Finished in Polo White over red interior this Corvette is powered by a 235/150hp engine and automatic transmission. It is one of the oldest original unrestored Corvettes in existence with 11250 original miles. Awards achieved include the NCRS Preservation Excellence 5-Star Bowtie Award and NCRS Second Flight Award. The NCRS 5-Star Bowtie Award is the highest honor an original unrestored Corvette can achieve. To earn the award a car must be judged 80-85% original in four categories: exterior interior chassis and engine. As of 2017 only three 1954 Corvettes have achieved an NCRS 5-Star Bowtie Award. Ownership history begins in 1957 when the second owner purchased it from the first owner from Southern California. The second owner also in California owned the Vette for 47 years before selling it in 2004 to another California owner. The third owner was known for his vast knowledge of early Corvettes and for a time served as NCRS national team leader for 1953-54 Corvettes. Documentation includes original California Black Plates and 50 years of California MVD registration forms from 1962 through 2012. Many MVD stickers are still sealed in plastic as they were never affixed to the license plate. Documentation also includes State Farm insurance forms filed by the second owner from 1985 and 1998. Also included with the sale are all the NCRS awards and certificates judging sheets and two binders of history and documentation. The current owner has driven and enjoyed the car keeping this piece of Corvette history operating and on the road.
