German WWII Type Steel Helmet Finnish M40/55

Lot # 578 (Sale Order: 578 of 600)

WWII German Type Steel Helmet Finnish M40/55 - with liner and strap- WWII German helmet stocks from the government of Finland These helmets are 100% genuine German manufa...morectured WWII type M40 steel combat helmets Supplied throughout WWII and then under special contract for the Finnish Army in 1955, hence, they have become known as the M40/55 helmet. Also, helmets may come with dents or scratches or paint removed or missing rivets or chords, the pictures will show these details.. shows size 58 on liner

Excellent U.S. Springfield Model 1903 .30-06

Lot # 579 (Sale Order: 579 of 600)

Up Next We Have an Excellent Example of a U.S. Springfield 1903 Bolt Action Service Rifle chambered in the .30-06, Nice wood stock, Hooded Lyman front sight and Lyman Dio...morepter rear sights, Overall condition appears Excellent, Cartouche Marked SA over SPG is Stanley Ployart Gibbs. Below is additional internet information: The M1903 Springfield, formally the United States Rifle, Caliber .30-06, Model 1903, is an American five-round magazine fed, bolt-action service repeating rifle, used primarily during the first half of the 20th century. It was officially adopted as a United States military bolt-action rifle on June 19, 1903, and saw service in World War I. It was officially replaced as the standard infantry rifle by the faster-firing semi-automatic eight-round M1 Garand starting in 1936. However, the M1903 Springfield remained in service as a standard issue infantry rifle during World War II, since the U.S. entered the war without sufficient M1 rifles to arm all troops. It also remained in service as a sniper rifle during World War II, the Korean War, and even in the early stages of the Vietnam War. It remains popular as a civilian firearm, historical collector's piece, a competitive shooting rifle, and as a military drill rifle.

WWII German WKC Dagger/Bayonet w/Scabbard

Lot # 587 (Sale Order: 587 of 600)

WWII German WKC Dagger / Bayonet with Scabbard- overall length of the bayonet is approx 14.75" in length with a blade length of approx 9.75" one side blade with pointed t...moreip, appears in nickel, The blade shows WKC on the Ricasso, (Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie ) comes with bakelite checkered grips and a Bird shape pommel, the metal scabbard is approx 11" in length, is currently missing the button on the top side, but overall in nice pre owned condition, please refer to pictures when bidding this lot. INTERNET info: Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Cie was the amalgamation of two very old Solingen family companies in 1883. Both companies had had their own trademark. For Weyersburg it was King's head and for Kirschbaum it was a Knight's head. On amalgamation the two trademarks were merged and appeared on the ricasso of blades from 1883 until 1918 and the end of the monarchy in Germany. With the end of the monarchy it's not surprising the company decided to banish their "King" logo and continue on with solely the Knight. The monarchy was out of favour and the company was still in the business of selling swords to State organisations. The Knight trademark probably emerged quite soon after WW1 and evolved into a number of variations. There appears to have been several changes after 1930 when the company renamed itself "WKC Stahl und Eisenwarenfabrik". As the Knight's head evolved, the appearance of "WKC" seemed to follow on the ricasso mark. The refinements include detail lines on the helmet visor, helmet comb and around the neck.

Swiss K1911 Long Straight Pull Rifle 7.5x55

Lot # 590 (Sale Order: 590 of 600)

Up Next We Have a Swiss K1911 Long Straight Pull Rifle Chambered in 7.5x55, Bakelite Charging Handle, Overall Appears in Excellent Condition, Matching Visible Numbers, Le...moreather Sling, and Includes a Scarce Brass Barrel Cap/Sight Protector. An improvement over the original M1889 version of the Schmidt-Rubin rifle, the Swiss M1911 placed the locking lugs in the middle of the bolt -rather than at the rear- strengthening the action and allowing a more powerful cartridge, the Gewehrpatrone 11 or GP11, to be used. It is distinguished from the 96/11 rifle by a curved butt plate and by a stock with an integral semi-pistol grip. It uses a graduated tangent sight which begins at 300 meters. The 1911 and 96/11 rifles are characterized by exceptional accuracy and were made with excellent craftsmanship. The fact that Switzerland remained neutral through both world wars ensured that they are in far better condition, on average, than the rifles of other European nations from that vintage. This is the long variation of the K1911 rifle with the 30.75" barrel and should not be confused with the carbine version which was a later generation rifle. This is one of the most accurate rifles ever made. The Swiss are renowned for their quality workmanship and attention to detail, and the Swiss soldiers typically took very good care to keep their rifles functional and serviceable. However, they used their rifles and carried them in training in very harsh weather conditions. As such it is very typical for the external surfaces of Swiss surplus rifles to be well used and you can expect these rifles to have a lot of dents and dings or very minor cracks in the stock.

German WWII M40 Stahlman Steel Helmet

Lot # 593 (Sale Order: 593 of 600)

German WWII M40 Stahlman Steel Helmet with liner and strap- appear to be replica- the liner shows the number 58 (only marking I could find on helmet) internet info: The S...moretahlhelm ('steel helmet') is a German military steel combat helmet intended to provide protection against shrapnels and fragments or shards of grenades. The term Stahlhelm refers both to a generic steel helmet and more specifically to the distinctive German military design. At the beginning of World War I, none of the combatants were issued with any form of protection for the head other than cloth and leather caps, designed at most to protect against sabre cuts. When trench warfare began, the number of casualties on all sides suffering from severe head wounds (more often caused by shrapnel bullets or shell fragments than by gunfire) increased dramatically, since the head was typically the most exposed part of the body when in a trench

Original Danish M1867 Remington Rolling Block

Lot # 599 (Sale Order: 599 of 600)

Up Next We Have an Antique Original Danish M1867 Remington Rolling Block, The Danes elected to license the Remington design for manufacture in Denmark at the Copenhagen a...morersenal, which they did in a fairly large quantity. The Danish model first utilized a rimfire cartridge and that stayed in service well into the smokeless era. However, with the adoption of the 8mm M1889 Krag-Jorgensen the need to update or abandon the Remington became acute. In 1896 they were withdrawn from infantry service, converted to centerfire cartridge and issued to coast and fortress artillerymen. At that time a new much longer rear ladder sight was also fitted to the rifles. This rifle features a 3.25" long backsight leaf. Left receiver flat is stamped with a Crown over the royal cypher over the mark M-1867. The right receiver wall is bare and the upper tang is marked Kjobenhavns Toihuus 1872 (Copenhagen Arsenal) I Believe This is Chambered in 11.7x51R. Bore is Excellent With Strong Rifling.
