Today it runs great but sadly spends most of its time in a garage in Maine, far away from our restorers residence here in Pa where he spends most of his time. ... Our knowledgeable consignor has lots of pertinent info, only some of which I will convey in this description, but you are buying it from a very intelligent and thoughtful restorer who did his utmost to retain much of its originality right down to the freewheeling plastic and working pedal. ... Chrysler head honcho Lee Iacocca in the 1980s teamed up with Maserati's Alejandro de Tomaso to produce sporty coupes that combined the so-called best of both brands. The result: the Chrysler TC by Maserati. (TC is short for Turbo Convertible). It made its debut at the 1986 Los Angeles auto show and rolled on the Q-platform.
For consignment, the cohabitation between Chrysler and the Italians based on the LeBaron platform. This version sports the 3.0 V6 engine with EFi and puts out 141 horses, and combined with the Ultradrive 4-speed automatic, it can handle an interstate or a curvy back road with the top down, soft top up or hardtop installed for winter motoring.
Exterior
Light Yellow bathes this co-effort, and this one is a convertible and has a matching hardtop. This paint is all original and in very good condition as with only a few flaws and some cracking of the finish noted on the driver's front fender. A nice black canvas manual convertible top moves up and down smoothly, and for winter driving you can use the body matching hardtop. Heated side view mirrors hang off of straight steel for this luxury sports car, and it rolls on polished, woven mag wheels wrapped in like new blackwall rubber.
Interior
Black leather in very good condition covers the door panel inserts and wide luxurious front bucket seats as well as rear side panels. Of note are the age wrinkles and color loss in the driver's outer bolster as well as on the pillow top lower cushion. In back in lieu of a rear seat is a curved faded black carpeted covered lid that lifts and offers up a storage area that has the space saver spare. This black carpeting is also seen in the trunk and all the chairs float in it and has storage area matching fade on the flooring. The warmth continues with the dash also in black stitched leather covered and sporting some wood burl accenting. In contrast the dash top uses white stitching for the black leather around the instrument cluster. Inserted in the dash center is an Infinity II 10 speaker sound system which provides enough wattage to have good music even with the top down at speed. Adding more luxury are power seats, and a tilt steering wheel also wrapped in black leather. Toggles for the tonneau top and convertible are just behind the driver.
Drivetrain
Under the hood and looking good is the Mitsubishi produced 3.0 Liter V6 with EFI. It shows a little dust but is in all good unrestored condition. New valve cover gaskets and spark plugs were recently installed as well as a new water pump, radiator, hoses, timing belt, and AC compressor. On back is an Ultradrive A604 4-speed automatic transmission pushing power forward to a 3.42 final drive rear axle.
Undercarriage
Very well kept down below with a uniform black finish with some patina and road splash but a solid unibody construction. Front independent coil sprung suspension along with rear coil sprung suspension and power disc brakes from the factory are bolted on. A stock exhaust is on and is nice and clean with no rust. Our consignor notes that the right front caliper and pads were recently replaced, and a trailer hitch has been added should you want to bring extras along on your trek.
Drive-Ability
Slipping inside the black leather interior I turned the key and the 6 cylinders came to life. It delivered nice smooth power and cruises at highway speeds, and then some, with ease. It handled nicely and all functionality was working perfectly.

Touted as an affordable car for the masses, with every part starting from raw steel to the rubber tires, produced within the confines of the massive Ford plant, the Super Deluxe offered a smooth ride, touted a large interior, and hydraulic brakes, all at a very affordable price. All in excellent condition, maroon paint covers all the steel panels that are fairly straight and true. The accessory bumper guards and wings, fender moldings, door handles, grille, light bezels, and window trims are all in good to excellent condition and shine brightly. Super Deluxe style, the barrel shaped vertical ribbed V Grille with its two flanking side panels looks shiny and unmarred. Rounded lines with bulbous fenders now with just a very small running board, we are moving into the modern era of the next car look as to the overall design genre. A hinged on the back hood with some curved edges, and a bulbous badged front section and a rounded trunk with a clear glass rear window for the black canvas roof just above. We see a central passenger compartment which utilizes square doors and is adorned with belt line trim spears. Also noted are some snazzy thin fender trimmings that wrap around the back and front quarters. A flared rocker is seen at the bottom. On the back is a long sloping trunk lid with another shiny chrome bumper with guards and wings just below and tall thin rectangle tail lights on the rear fenders. On all 4 corners are the standard 16-inch maroon painted steel wheels sporting moon caps in the center with Ford logo badging and bright shiny trim rings. Wide white walls for all corners are the standard fare for this Deluxe which is just Super!
Interior
Complimenting red artificial leather covers the interior seating and is correct for the period. The same material covers the door panels, and all Bakelite knobs as well as chromed cranks are there and accounted for. Fronting this duo of benches is a nicely done wood grained dash with cream Bakelite trim. The original steering wheel also in Bakelite is in excellent condition. Red carpet covers all floors and is stain free and fluffy all the while being protected in the front by an all encompassing tan rubber mat and the underside of the canvas top is excellent. A note on the trunk as it is paneled with painted pressed board and has a rubber lining that sits in front of a new spare tire.
Drivetrain
Flipping the hinged hood, we see in the restored engine bay, a 221ci flathead V8 which our decoder states is correct for this car. As is the 1-barrel carburetor feeding it, and the 3-speed manual transmission on back. This setup is a 6-volt electrical system. A newer aluminum radiator fronts the mill, and the rear axle weighs in at a 3.54 ratio.
Undercarriage
An X frame with only surface rust firmly supports the black steel patina finished floor pans and surface exhaust in single form. Body hangers are rust free and it is definitely an all-solid undercarriage environment. Providing the ride are transverse leaf springs for the front and rear suspension which work with drum brakes on all 4 corners. Very nicely done down here.
Drive-Ability
She started right up, and on the test track had solid acceleration and bias free braking. Steering was smooth and shifting was the same. All other functions were working as they should but we noticed a soft brake pedal and a slight tap from the engine that went away once we achieved operating temperature.
In keeping most of its original charm, we see an overall very good condition automobile, with that fab grille! Much of the original trimmings and steel panels have been retained and the paint is excellent, still shiny after all those years showing no battle scars. It is time to do another bucket list thing in retirement, so advantage YOU! Come and get it!

Touted as an affordable car for the masses, with every part starting from raw steel to the rubber tires, produced within the confine...mores of the massive Ford plant, the Super Deluxe offered a smooth ride, touted a large interior, and hydraulic brakes, all at a very affordable price. Some of this may have been true, and some not, but it sold cars, and that was the bottom line in 1941.

In 1940, Chevrolet released an expanded line. The Master 85 was joined by the Master Deluxe, with the Master Deluxe being the fancier, more expensive model. All 1940 models, while similar in style to the 1939s, had received enough of a facelift to give them a more modern, streamlined appearance”....... The Master Deluxe would also be offered in a top-of-the-line convertible called the Special Deluxe series. Both the Master 85 and Master Deluxe lines were offered in a business coupe, two-door town sedan or four-door sport sedan. The 85 line also included a woodie wagon, and the Deluxe line, a Sport Coupe. The Master 85 retained the solid front axle, with the Deluxe series coming with “......knee-action”...... independent front suspensions. This rebuild has taken many styling cues from the street rod culture such as snappy named pastel paint, the absence of body chrome and an amazing drivetrain. Read on to learn what it takes to make a rod this mean and nasty!
Exterior
Mostly true to its original design, we see straight steel panels, honed to their final curvaceous form, with fat fenders, running boards, a rounded roofline, and curved trunkline. The hood comes to a shiny point with the chromed horizontal lined "Groucho Marx" mustache style front grille clip and is framed on either side by large bullet style headlights that sit proudly on the front fenders along with smaller outboard marker lights. The original trim for the hood runs back toward the raked and Veed dual pane windshield and all of the chrome trim has been shaved or painted body color as well as the rear bumper. An orange and black stripe runs from front to back along the beltline of this exterior and expands to form a bowtie with speed lines trailing rearward at the front of the rear quarter panel. This stripe also stands as the delineation mark between the Vanilla Shake colored upper body and Sweet Georgia Peach that bathes the lower panels. A few chips, dings, and bubbles are noted in this finish, but one must look closely to see them. Polished deep dish custom wheels adorn each corner for that "just right" look.
Interior
Gray broadcloth in a smooth pattern covers most of the custom door panels which now have black billet for the window cranks and actuators. In the center is a dark gray vinyl padded arm rest and finishing the top of the door is silver paint over steel. Moving inside we are greeted with a pair of modern high back bucket seats in perforated light gray broadcloth tuck and roll inserts and smooth charcoal gray bolsters. This pattern continues to the rear seats which are a pair of low back buckets and our consignor notes that these seats are courtesy of a 1991 Dodge Daytona. A small console and Hurst shifter for the automatic transmission are noted and all of this is supported by gray carpeting with clean gray carpeted mats. Upfront looking to the dash for more inspiration is a tilt steering column, a gray wrapped bowtie logoed wheel, modified simplified custom dash with a mix of VDO and AutoMeter white face gauges and a Mooneyes tachometer. Also noted is an AM/FM/CD radio with a Streetrod badge attached to the factory chrome speaker grille. A clean gray broadcloth headliner hangs above and shows as new.
Drivetrain
A recently rebuilt 1974 350ci V8 removed from a 1974 Monte Carlo rests in the closed side engine bay, very clean and spit shined with smatterings of polished aluminum for the valve covers and air cleaner assembly, both by Edelbrock. Feeding this healthy mill mill its dose of air and fossils is an Edelbrock 4bbl carburetor and the valves are actuated by an Edlebrock Performer camshaft. A TH350 transmission, which is a 3-speed automatic, is attached and a 10-bolt Positraction 3.08 geared rear axle from a 1974 Camaro puts the power to the pavement.
Undercarriage
A nicely done frame, flooring and body hangers are finished in black with a smattering of minor surface rust but no structural issues are seen. A Mustang II independent coil spring front suspension is on along with power disc brakes and for the rear we see leaf springs and power drums. Lest I forget, this car has a dual exhaust system Flowmaster mufflers which snakes its way rearward and ends well in chromed tips.
Drive-Ability

We noted that the front struts, bushings and tower plates have been replaced but one strut was not tightened and dropped down into the wheelhouse. We also noted the check engine light was on possibly due to a missing gas cap and we caught the aroma of coolant coming from the engine bay. Big hard, bid fast, and bid often on this luxury sedan from across the pond. Quite right, you're bloody well right!

Imagine a car so popular that a new term came to be based on that design. That name is Tri-Five, which refers to 1955, 1956, and 1957 Chevrolet automobiles, in particular the Bel Air, 150, 210, Hardtops, Sedans, Wagons and the Nomad. With beautiful proportions and new skins each of those successive years, and a thorough peppering of chrome, these cars produced in this time became iconic. From all original to highly modified versions, many Tri-Five clubs have sprung up to showcase individuality, originality, and the beloved Chevrolet concepts of Harley Earl and his team.
Wooing you in the configuration of its original form, a first year example of the Tri Five phenomenon that was about to hit the country with this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. A body off restoration was completed in 1995 and a mere 122 miles added to the odometer since it was completed. A few issues are present on this drop top dream, but they don’......t come along every day, as a matter of fact this is only the second 1955 Chevrolet convertible to grace our hallowed halls over the years and thousands of cars through our inventory.
Exterior
Mostly straight steel panels make up this 1st year Tri-Five which display with ill fitted gaps, particularly on the trunk lid, hood, trimmings and doors. It shows cracking, crazing, and solvent pop, along with some dimpling. From a distance all this disappears, and just shows as overall presentable and the saturation remains good. Upfront starting with its baseball cap brimmed headlights, to the egg crate grille, and large lower bumper there is plenty of chromed trimmings to go around on this car. No panel has been left wanting for trim, as on the front quarters, there is the beginnings of the trim spear and mid panel, and below on the back of the wheel well, is a trimming that starts within the wheel well surround and makes its way rearward on the rockers. Mid door where the front spear ends, picks up with another trim spear that eventually will end on back, but is now the dividing line between the deep Harbor blue, and the bright white. A vertical chromed faux vent (if you will) provides the delineation between the side panel blue and white...OH!! those were the days. Not to be outdone by the front, piqued lantern style taillights frame the rear on either corner and frame the cloisonne badge and bright silver V in the center of the trunk lid. A snug fitting rear bumper is present down low and noticeable cracks in the body are seen just below the taillights. White canvas in pretty clean and unripped shape moves up and down electrically while you sit and watch in amazement. Moon capped center deep dog dish style wheel covers cover wide whites all around completing the 50's look.
Interior
A swing of the large doors, and we have yet another swoop spear trimming which creates the border between the white and blue vinyl that makes up the door panels. Just a bit of soiling is on the high use areas of this door panel and we note 4 switches to control the power windows. Moving inside we see more blue and white vinyl, blue for the tuck and roll inserts, and white for the bolsters and frame of the seat surround. This stays the course in the back bench which has a blue vinyl lower, and a “......bracket”...... style white curved upper motif, to all the seats, all of which are beautifully recovered. An original dash in blue steel stretches from door to door and includes dual fan-like bump ups, one to house the speedo and gauge cluster, and the other for the radio speaker with Bel Air badging in your grandmother’......s handwriting. An original blue bakelite steering wheel with a full round horn trim in the center and pointed center, fronts the dash. Beautiful black carpet floods all the floors and beneath the Bel Air scripted mats, has nary a mark on it. In the central portion of the dash within the bowtie pattern aluminum strip is an AM/FM/Cassette radio.
Drivetrain
A nicely buttoned up orange painted V8 configured in a 265 V8, has a Rochester 2-barrel carburetor atop. This rests in a slightly dusty but well restored engine bay. A 2-speed automatic Powerglide transmission is on back and sends power to a 3.36 geared rear axle
Undercarriage
All painted black and all rust free from all that climate-controlled storage over the years, this beauty underneath is very sound structurally. Independent coil spring suspension is upfront, and leaf springs for the rear, as well as drum brakes all around. The X frame is looking good as are the floorpans and wheel wells. Dual exhaust has been added to expedite spent fossil removal.
Drive-Ability
She fires right up, and has a slightly rough idle, possibly from storage, old fuel and the need for a tune up. Off to the test track it performed as it should with decent acceleration, good handling, and quick stopping with those drum brakes. During my tenure behind the wheel I noted the wipers
