1996 BMW 850ci Coupe

Lot # 208 (Sale Order: 101 of 115)

1996 BMW 850ci Coupe No fooliin’...... around with this car and current consignment as you have the availability of V12 power at your toes. ... The 8er had a low drag coefficient, ... 0.29, ranking close to a Porsche 928 - and was drawn up entirely on a computer, (something of a novelty back then), with a lot of wind tunnel testing to get that swoopy, wedgy shape. ... It looks good, retro-good, but still good. ... Plenty of BMW bells and whistles, and by the standards of the day, this made it a virtual visitor from the future. ... This 1 of 363 imported to the states between 1994 and 1996 car is sporting a mere 76,556 title verified ...actual miles and has been fastidiously maintained by our consignor who has owned the car since 2007 when it had 46,000 miles. ... A full breakdown of all the services performed ...is included with your purchase along with a thick thick thick folder of receipts so you can rest assured that this car is in top notch condition. ... Oh, and I cannot forget the custom fitted car cover, full tool kit and factory wheels that are included with your purchase...THE Ultimate Driving Machine!!! ... Exterior Although greatly thinned down and not very tall, the iconic BMW front grille with its dual openings can still be seen, only this time above are hidden headlights which make up the wedge form of the front of this car. ... Some running lights and signals are also within this grille, and in the center is the blue and white badge. ... All steel bathed in original Black II, Schwartz II for those of you in the Motherland, and there is a smattering of black trimmings for the window surrounds and a mid body thin black trimming encircling this car. ... On the back is a gracefully descending rear glass and back pillar which seamlessly meets up to form the rear trunk/deck lid. Integrated wrap around tail lighting is above a dual exhaust rear roll pan on the bottom. ... Polished multi-spoke 17" German Breyton wheels are on all 4 corners wrapped in 235/45ZR17 like new rubber, and as mentioned earlier, the factory wheels are included with your purchase. Interior Plenty of Parchment tan and black accenting are within the ergonomically designed cabin of this Autobahn time saver. ... Molded door panels using shades of tan and parchment seamlessly create a beautiful design and these are just the door panels! ... Slipping inside into the Parchment leather covered high backed buckets we are grabbed and are able to fine tune this adjustment of these seats to our exacting comfort level. ... A nicely designed dash is upfront and contains lots of technology for the climate controls, stereo, drive modes, and an orange LED  ...thin bar display which contains an amazing amount of options to display. ... A power adjustable steering column holds the black airbag equipped steering wheel at its end and a variety of functions are controlled from stalks also on the column. ... Uber clean tan carpeting covers the floors, and in back are a nifty set of 2 buckets to grip the rear passengers during the thrill ride they may experience. ... Hanging above is a new fuzzy tan broadcloth headliner framing the power moonroof. ... A huge shout out to the trunk with fuzzy gray lining and optional CD changer. Drivetrain Shoehorned in under this wedge shaped hood is a beautifully preserved and shiny V12 EFI 5.4 liter mill. ... EFI is feeding this mill and a ZF 5HP30 5-speed automatic is attached to the rear.  ...2.81 is the rear axle in this version. ... All fluids were recently changed and new accessory ...drive ...belts were installed. Undercarriage Up on the lift we note German engineering at its finest with all neatly molded and sculpted panels to fit all the underpinnings of the mechanicals needed to handle and propel this car down the road. ... Some extremely slight rust and plenty of patina but all structurally sound and looking good. ... Fully rebuilt 4-wheel independent suspension, and power disc brakes all around with clean dual exhaust is seen underneath. Drive-Ability A turn of the key and one needs to experience the smoothness of a V12 power plant. ... It's waiting to be unleashed on the test track, so off I went, and here it showed up with plenty of acceleration, smooth limitless power, good braking, and excellent handling. ... It is best described as a luxury sports coupe and offers up a comfy ride to boot! ... All functions worked as designed save for the ashtray door hinge being broken, an occasional MID system display drop out, (we didn't experience this, but our consignor notes it does happen), and the car phone is not in service. Being fastidiously and meticulously maintained ...by our loving consignor has left this example in very good condition. ... V12 power, tons of service records, and leather luxury, along with sporty wedge design ahead of its time in the early 90’......s! ... Interestingly enough, this car was favored by the F1 drivers of the day. Classic Auto Mall is a 336,00

With lots-o-polished brass fixtures and maroon paint, along with a full leather interior allowing seating for a minimum of 8 possibly up to 12 passengers, let's go for a spin on these rutty dirt roads to the middle of nowhere. Exterior They say brass is class, and this car will not disappoint with a stunning radiator cowl with its brass and copper temp gauge topper, we are in the 5 to 6 thousand dollar range already and we haven’......t even gotten to the meat of the car. ... Worth the price of admission, all this brass and copper have beautiful early pre “......Oldsmobile”...... REO badging which is spectacular. ... Flanking on either side are brass hanging exterior acetylene headlights.  ...There is more lighting attached to the sides of the front glass cowling and these have been electrified.  ...There are simple black painted and pinstriped fenders hanging off of each side which frames the front wheels and tires.  ...These spec in at 33-inches of wood spokes and painted in cream, wrapped with 33x5 rubber.  ...Body panels and cowls are mostly squared off but are very straight, have micrometer measurable gaps and are bathed in a professionally applied maroon paint with some cream ...pinstriping throughout. ... More of a peppering of brass is on with door handles, tail light bezels, acetylene tank housing, gas cap filler seals, windshield surround and some hinges and locks. ... Another simple black and pinstriped fender frames the rear tires and on ...back we note a fold down trunk rack.  ...The framing and rockers are steel and painted in contrasting cream as is the front suspension, open to see. ... All beautifully restored to perfection and very few faults to speak of…......in fact none! Interior Spoken colloquially only, as the entire interior is open to the elements. ... For seating we see two front bucket seats in steel maroon painted tubs. ... These are presented in saddle brown leather with tufted and button triangulated stuffing treatments.  ...They are like new and have curved overstuffed arms. ... In back, a rounded off half circular bench seat, (and it IS massive), and has many sacrificial cows covered in tufted and buttoned leather.  ...It curves around the back of the car and sits in a steel maroon painted tub. ... There is a door on the passenger's side for access to this bench and on the drivers side is a storage cabinet with a top door so you will need to climb over it and the acetylene tank covering to get in on this side. ... (Go ‘......round to the other side!) ... Laminated wood flooring is throughout, even the running boards, as well as some tuck and tufted and buttoned side panels also in saddle leather. ... The dash is a shiny aluminum plate with a wood box in the center housing the instruments along with some levers and knobs. ... A brass steering column reaches for the driver and is topped with a brass center spoked steering wheel surrounded with oak.  ...Also noted is a brass speedometer by Stewart Instruments looking more like a boiler room gauge cluster than for a car! ... Drivetrain Flipping the cowled hood reveals a perfectly restored open valve spring black cast and brass accented engine. ... It is a 226.2 ci inline 4 cylinder engine, has a 1-barrel carburetor to feed it, and a 3-speed manual transmission on back. ... It is a selective sliding gear variety. ... The rear axle and pumpkin house 3.70 gears. ... Overall, the engine bay and engine are immaculate. Undercarriage As expected no rust just a cream painted structural steel, brake casings, and rear axle.  ...The floor pans are a slightly darker cream, and some black mechanical parts are on. ... Virtually every nut and bolt is restored and we see some large mechanical drum brakes on the back only.  ...For the suspension, it is leaf spring and a stock style exhaust is running through to the rear exit. ... Drive-Ability I donned my goggles and canvas overcoat for this test drive. ... The car started and ran with complex instructions, however it ran beautifully. ... I could fit practically the entire CAM staff in this test drive, and all functions were working just perfectly. ... Definitely an eye catcher due to its massive scale. ... ... A truly concours restoration with no expense spared on all fronts.  ...So nice to have such an early Brass Era example in our Hallowed Halls, and it harkens back to a time when money was unlimited for some and they spent it with willingness to spare. ... Throw in 12 of your besties and take off in 1914 Brass Era style, when motoring was an adventure. ... Just to go to the grocery store was a task, there is also plenty of room for those too! The result is this rare survivor, an overall very fine CCCA Full Classic, a fine running automobile with a very comfortable leather interior. ... Great color combination, (using the two tones adds more class according to Earl), and blue leather interior that is well appointed in the open air environment. 1963 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Convertible

Lot # 211 (Sale Order: 104 of 115)

1963 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Convertible The Oldsmobile 88 is a full-size car that was sold and produced by Oldsmobile from 1949 until 1999. From 1950 until 1974, the 88 was the division's most profitable line, particularly the entry level models such as the 88 and Dynamic 88. An all-new body and chassis with perimeter "Guard Beam" frame and all-coil suspension replacing the previous leaf springs highlighted the 1961 full-sized Oldsmobiles, which were joined by the new compact F-85. All full-sized Oldsmobiles were now powered by the 394-cubic-inch Rocket V8 with the Dynamic 88 getting a two-barrel, 250hp version that used regular gas, while the Super 88 was powered by a four-barrel "Ultra High Compression" 394 Skyrocket V8 rated at 325hp. The Skyrocket engine was available as an extra-cost option on the Dynamic 88. A new three-speed "Roto" Hydra-matic transmission that was smaller and lighter than the previous four-speed unit was introduced as an option. Enter this 1963 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 for consignment, in eye-catching red, a top that goes down with the flick of a switch and a rust free, dent free and ding free body, it's hard to pass this one by. This car begs for a felt Stetson with a tweed band and some side feathers, and a thin necktie. A beautiful contrasting white interior, gives this 2-door convertible plenty of class, whether it’......s the commute and from work, or out for a Sunday drive…......remember those?’......’...... Exterior Straight steel all bathed in a respray of the original Holiday Red paint which presents very nicely. Overall, the paint is well applied with only minor inclusions and cracking of the finish. Dramatic crisply peaked fenders and quarter panels are dominant features on this body, strikingly unique among the GM brands, but aiding owners with regards to outermost body locations while driving. Atop the rear quarter panel fins we see a bright stainless trim spear which flows rearward and ends by splitting the tail light lens in half. A thin trim spear runs down the side mid beltline and is highlighted at the front by DYNAMIC 88 in chrome block letter. Chrome for the bumpers is all excellent as is the front grille, which is made up of horizontal chrome bar and is flanked by dual headlights on either side. More chrome trim highlights the ample windshield glass and passenger compartment. A tight white convertible top is on with no tearing and only minor staining. This top is power actuated and has a plastic rear window which has a few small areas of fogging. 14-inch turbine style wheel covers with Oldsmobile Rocket badged faux center spinners are wrapped with thin whitewall 215/75-R14’......s on all 4 corners. Interior Near perfect faux leather pattern white vinyl is interplaying with chrome trimming, smooth vinyl and horizontally stitched vinyl wrapping around the door panels. A rocket in a sunburst badge is top and center on the doors, and black carpeting covers the lowers. Inside we are met with a sprawling split bench front seat in more clean white vinyl. Smooth bolsters with white piping separate them from the wide section tuck and roll inserts. A rear bench is in back in the same pattern with a central chrome dressed speaker and looks nearly unused. In front of the driver and the original steering wheel is a symmetrical dash with a central red Olds star badge, and black for the padded dash top and white for the metal painted dash front. A few brushed and ribbed aluminum panels are also here housing the pulls and knobs. The original AM/FM radio resides here as well as the heat/defrost slides. Like new black carpeting floods the floors and compliments the white vinyl splendidly. Drivetrain Under the hood is an engine aficionado’......s dreamland where the Olds engineers have placed an Ultra High Compression 394ci Skyrocket V8. The space race even continued into the engine names, what a time to be alive! This red painted mill is topped with a 4bbl carburetor, ribbed red painted coverings, and a black with red pie plate air cleaner assembly. A 3-speed Roto-Hydramatic automatic transmission is on the back, and the rear axle weighs in with a 2.87 ratio. Independent coil spring suspension and a 4 link with coil springs provides the ride, and the power drum braking brings you back to earth safely. Also, a stock style dual exhaust system is seen snaking its way rearward from the Rocket under the hood. Drive-Ability Thanks to a stretch of mild Spring weather we dropped the top, donned our shades and off to the test track we went. 1963 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 Convertible The Oldsmobile 88 is a full-size car that was sold and produced by Oldsmobile from 1949 until 1999. From 1950 until 1974, the ...more88 was the division's most profitable line, particularly the entry level models such as the 88 and Dynamic 88. Lot # 212 (Sale Order: 105 of 115)

2019 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2LT Convertible Fast forward to 2019, and we have a lucky find as the consignor is ready to part company with this 1 of 6 interior and exterior color combination multi-time show winning Stingray 2LT convertible. ... With a mere 37,530 original miles clocked, ...a 6.2-liter V8 DI/VVT, an 8-speed paddle shifted automatic transmission, ...a top that goes down, plenty of added extras and 465 horses under the hood, you could be in the seat of some of the latest technology with a mere push of the starter button. Exterior High intensity headlamps lead the way along with Xenon parking and running lamps which are bordered with LED park and turn signals and an integral splitter on the fascia in front. ... A large black grille feeds plenty of air into the engine bay and in keeping with tradition, a subtle but effective Corvette cove, now barely discernible, is within the front quarters.  ...This all creates a diamond edged muscular look, especially with the extremely raked back front glass, almost like a chopped roofline, that rolls up to the fully power actuated black canvas convertible top. ... There is a carbon fiber hood, rear spoiler and side rocker extensions which are somewhat an ode to the former side pipes that would grace the predecessors of this beautiful sports car. ... On back, racy taillights and a black rear roll panel if you will sport quad exhaust in the center. ... Lightly tinted glass all around adds to the menacing aspect, and 19-inch front and 20-inch rear chrome clad aluminum wheels are wrapped in new tires which are Michelins from the 23rd week of 2023. Interior Kalahari leather GT bucket seats with 8-way power adjusters provide the cockpit seating arrangement.  ... Dual zone A/C is available, power windows, a central drivers info center, and a telescoping steering column with a leather wrapped rally wheel and paddle shifters front this high tech dash. ... The 8-inch touchscreen offers up plenty of accessible features including Bluetooth, Apple car play, Android auto, 4GLTE WIFI, and XM radio which you’......ll need a subscription for. ... A very simple central digital LED dash displays a tachometer switchable to a speedometer display, and digital oil psi and water temp gauges on either side. ... Analog pointer gauges flank on either side and provide the rest of the data needed to carry on and a heads up display is optioned on for when you don't have time to look down. ... Also noted in the central dash are plenty of buttons to control temp of seats, air flow front and rear defrost and A/C.  ... A wide central console which doubles as an armrest and storage houses the shift lever and a wheel style mouse to make handling and suspension changes on the fly. ... All beautifully taken care of and in near mint clean condition for this interior. Drivetrain Fairly unassuming until a pop of the hood, but there is a caged monster under those plastic coverings!  ...6.2 Liters of V8 with direct injection and variable valve timing. ... On back for this Stingray is an 8-speed paddle shifted 8L90E automatic transmission and an active limited slip 3.42 rear axle. ... All this adds up to an output of 460 horses! Undercarriage All clean and rust free we see 4-wheel independent suspension with active handling stability and traction control. ... There is speed sensitive power steering and multi-mode exhaust. ... Monster sized brakes in power disc form are on all 4 corners to bring this Stingray to a halt. Drive-Ability A mighty roar with the push of a button, and we were off to the test track. ... Handling was wonderful, braking on a dime, and infinite acceleration quickly overwhelmed the test track. ... Ergonomically it is very comfy once you get in, (it's very low!), and all functions were working as they should. One man’......s loss is another’......s gain as they say, and this virtually new 1 of 6 built Vette from 2019 is a dressed up and nowhere to go, so it graces our Hallowed Halls here at Classic Auto Mall.  ... Why buy new when it is sitting right in front of you!  ...Come on down and drool a bit before eating a piece of the GM pie. 1G1YD3D79K5101634 1-USA G-General Motors 1-Chevrolet Y-Corvette D-Stingray Preferred 2LT Automatic 3-2 Door Convertible D-Manual Belts Front & Side Airbags 7-6.2L LT1 9-Check Digit K-2019 5-Bowling Green, KY Assy Plant 101634-Sequential Unit Number Classic Auto Mall is a 336,000-square foot classic and special interest automobile showroom, featuring over 850 vehicles for sale with showroom space for up to 1,000 vehicles. 1976 Lincoln Continental

Lot # 213 (Sale Order: 106 of 115)

1976 Lincoln Continental Your first impression when you approach this 1976 Lincoln Continental is that it’......s simply mammoth. On a 120-inch wheelbase, it rivals the biggest cars of the ‘......50s, and today anything with 120 inches between the wheels is a full-sized dually pickup. In fact, this car is more than 11 inches longer than a new Lincoln Navigator! But it isn’......t merely big for the sake of being big, it has style and proportion and a gothic look that has aged pretty well. These cars have enjoyed a nice uptick in values ever since the guys in the Scorsese flick “......Casino”...... were motoring around in such things, and in 1976, if you owned one of these, you had well and truly made it to the top. For consignment, taking up significant real estate in the Classic Auto Mall, is this 1976 large and in charge Lincoln Continental. With a mere 66,405 original miles and always garaged it is a no rust car, clean undercarriage, and oodles of convenience options, you are entering the lap of luxury, so supersize me! Exterior A big chrome grille with the Lincoln star atop, hidden headlights on either side, and cathedral style signal lights at each corner. We have the beginnings of a limousine-like car, and we are only up front! A long luscious hood, big side panels minding their gaps, plenty of side trimmings in vinyl and chrome. 4 big full access doors, a 3 bedroom apartment size trunk and a landau style padded vinyl top in matching Dove gray body color. It has complete stainless steel rocker trim which is wide and shiny, as are all other trimmings, door handles, mirrors, window surrounds, bumpers, and wheel covers. Speaking of wheel covers, big shallow dish wheel covers have a black Lincoln badge in the center and are wrapped by thin white radials all around. The vinyl padded top shows some cracking and staining on the bottom rail and the beginnings of the trunk deck have some invasive rust. Also a few slight areas of some rust bubbling can be seen on front panels. Interior A swing of any of the well balanced but big doors reveals gray stitched leather panels, wood appliqué..., nice chrome trimmings, and a lower silver/gray carpeted panel. A litany of power switches and toggles for door locks, seat adjustments, windows, and a rear-view mirror toggle are within the door. Having a seat inside, and I might as well be at the local Republican Club in the smoking lounge surrounded by full gray leather wide buckets with extra pillows stitched on just for good measure. A large pillowed leather armrest magically lowers from the center of the buckets to create an armrest for the “......lean”...... when you decide to go low and slow. A rear bench like grandmother’......s couch stretches from rear door to door, and has the same buttoned pillows as the front as well as the armrest…......smoke ‘......em if ya got ‘......em…...... The square and rectangle dash is simplistic in its design, but retains luxurious looks with brushed aluminum panels and burled veneer appliqué... housing various controls, the speedometer, trip odometer, and fuel gauge. Climate controls are to the right of the steering wheel, (which is original), and a factory Ford radio is installed in a mid section horizontal wood burl covered bar. Also within all this menagerie is a rolling wheel digital clock right out of mid 1970. More A/C vents and a large glove box in front of the passenger. Silver gray clean carpet floods the floors, and a tight headliner stretches above the passengers. Drivetrain A big powerful 460ci V8 engine is within a slight patina but clean engine bay, all original. On top is a Motorcraft 4350 4-barrel carburetor. This “......proper”...... engine is mated with a Ford C-6 select-shift 3-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9" rear axle. Undercarriage The 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Coupé... has the luxury length of 228”......, rides upon a long 120.4”...... wheelbase, and is 79.8”...... wide. This is one of the largest passenger production cars ever built in America. Underneath is showing some surface rust on the driveshaft, rear pumpkin, and suspension. Floor pans and rockers are clean and look as if they may have been resprayed with rustproofing, however this is not verified. Power disc brakes for the front, and big drums for the rear, along with the front coil over suspension and rear coils, it rides like a dream. Drive-Ability This car started with little effort, ran smoothly and handled the test track with flying colors, (well, at least Dove gray and silver!). Good acceleration, smooth shifting, and a very luxurious cruise at highway speed, where you barely know you are moving. It stopped in a straight line, and stopping power was very sufficient. A fairly low mileage always garaged car and owners who babied it and were careful about maintenance and repairs when needed. Now you can show up in classic luxury style, turn heads, and enough seating for 6. They do

1956 Ford Thunderbird Roadster

Lot # 214 (Sale Order: 107 of 115)

1956 Ford Thunderbird Roadster If you're looking for a sweet 50s-era classic that's valuable, fun to drive and has the ability to turn Main Street into an instant classic car show then this is “......it”...... for you. ... An all Colonial White exterior with a newly ...recovered turquoise and white interior and a Colonial White hardtop you will think you are driving down the street in a crisp clean bridal dress! ... Oh, don’......t forget we will be enticing you with a fully rebuilt ...fuel system, new bumpers and an updated stereo system. Exterior Starting upfront, we can see a beautiful brand spanking new and mirror like bumper and directly above is a well-preserved shiny egg crate grille complete with flanking on either side is a single visored headlights. ... A long-scooped hood rolls its way back to the passenger compartment, which is small, and is topped with a hardtop in body matching Colonial White complete with the iconic Thunderbird portholes. ... On the back, small fins tip round tail lights again, emulating jet age design, and another clean bumper, this time the bumper has the exhaust tailpipes coming out just below. ... These cutouts flank the short decklid with the crossed flag fuel filler door sandwiched in between.  ... Medium wide white sidewall tires wrap 15-inch steel heels and hubcaps with just a hint of turquoise peeking out at the edged. ... All of the metal is painted in Colonial White paint and has nicely preserved gaps with no rust seen on its exterior. ... From its fender skirts to the chromed venting on the front quarters to the tasteful fins and jet engine taillights, and all is super snazzy.  ... Interior The curvaceous thick door panels are wrapped in white vinyl with some turquoise vinyl covered swooping upward long armrests, and a turquoise padded window sill attached at the top. ... There is a large panel of machined aluminum through the center which is the background for the door actuator and in the white vinyl are the shiny cranks for the windows. ... These are nice and clean, with the aluminum showing a few dimples. ... These panels look the part, as they melt into the curved dash keeping the machined metal line through the center. ... A fan style black background with white numbered speedometer is above on the padded turquoise dash top and below the machined strip of aluminum is a pleasant band of turquoise steel. ... Flanking on either side of the speedo are round gauges, one a factory tachometer, and the right a clock. ... Also noted, a modern AM/FM radio is neatly installed in the dash center. ... Fronting a near perfect bench seat is a black accordion booted Hurstshift lever well within reach of the driver on the hump. The bench seat is complete with smooth turquoise bolsters and surrounds and shows with white tuck and roll inserts and some piping at the seams, and it stretches from door to door. ... Lightly faded and wrinkled turquoise carpeting floods the floors, and the tan leatherette wrapped turquoise bakelite and chrome horn ring steering wheel fronts the pristine dash. ... A white tonneau cover is on the rear body/passenger sill and covers the area where a soft top would be stowed, ...however no soft top nor its frame is present. ... Totally delicious in this presentation. ... And if the weather is bad, pop on the hardtop! Drivetrain A 312ci V8 engine is in a clean and shiny engine bay. ... It is topped with a rebuilt Holley 4-barrel carburetor and a chromed air cleaner cover. ... Red is reserved for the block, and aluminum ribbed valve covers with Thunderbird badging add some more bling to the bay. ... A 3-speed manual transmission and 3.73 ...Dana 44 rear axle complete the drivetrain. ... Just a very honest presentation under the hood. Undercarriage Just a hint of surface rust and some road dirt is noted but otherwise the X frame and floor pans are really beautifully preserved sporting a nice undercoating of rustproofing.  ...Moving to the inner rockers we note some invasive rust making an appearance on the passenger side and a hastily installed replacement inner on the drivers.  ...Independent coil springs for the front, and leaf springs for the rear make up the suspension with drum brakes all around. ... We note a new fuel pump, and fuel tank as well as shiny like new dual exhaust. Drive-Ability Not a ton of room in these early birds, but once in, they are comfy. ... This car fired right up and took off for the test track where it flew around in circles with ease. ... A strong accelerator, and good stopper are also good qualities to have in such an early car and they are there. ... This bird handled our test track with ease on all fronts and provided a fully functional enjoyable drive. All in all a wonderful example that has been restored a bit ago and still retains its luster and charm. ... Go topless or don the hardtop, and climate controls assure you happy motoring throughout the year, although with a classic as such I persona

1973 Porsche 914 Targa

Lot # 216 (Sale Order: 109 of 115)

1973 Porsche 914 Here's how the 914 came to be, according to Classic Motorsports: In the late 60s, Porsche needed a replacement for the 911's low-rent four-cylinder cousin, the 912. At the same time, VW needed a replacement for the Karmann-Ghia that would ideally be more than just a fanciful-bodied Beetle. Perhaps over some hefeweizen and sauerkraut (these are the only things I know about Germany) Ferry Porsche and VW executive Heinz Nordhoff hammered out an agreement where their respective companies would build the car together. For consignment the joint venture between Porsche and VW in the form of a 1970 Porsche 914. This air-cooled boxer style mid-engine car has the engine of a VW and suspension of a Porsche. Styling was a mixture of square and rectangle design with some aero thrown in for giggles, and an open targa top of you wished. Hidden headlights, and mid-engine design lasted until 1976. Exterior They call me mellow yellow….......Quite Right!, and we can call this one mellow yellow, (actually it's officially Saturn Yellow). With its early 1970’......s design making use of the square and rectangle, we see straight steel bathed in yellow. This exterior has just a few minor scratches to speak of on the body, otherwise all else is excellent. It has the appearance group package which includes chrome bumpers and side sail panels. Hidden headlights, plus driving lights and a right side mirror. On top is the removable panel that is supported in front by the windshield and in back by the small flying buttress B pillars and vertical rear glass. Some black mesh venting just below the window keeps the mid-engine cool, and has P O R S C H E badging attached. Horizontal tail lighting wraps the rear quarters and just below is a shiny bumper with a dent or two in the chrome. Mahle alloy wheels grace all corners and even an additional 5 wheel as the spare is the same. Interior Simple small but very ergonomic thin semi high back black vinyl buckets with sparse padding awaits the passengers. The consignor states this is the original interior. The console gauge package rises from the console to the dash. Upfront the original dash pad with no cracks or errors is seen, and black carpeting covers the floors. This car also has R134 Port install A/C, and AM/FM radio. The A/C is a very desirable option on these. The targa removable top is new but appears just a bit faded on top. Also a cushion on the console allows a restful space for your right arm. Drivetrain Mid-engine means Mid-engine, and this is true looking under the hood, and lifting the trunk and you’......ll be saying “......look ma!…......no engine!”...... Well kids, it's under that mesh panel just below the rear glass. Yes, a 4-cylinder engine is shoehorned into this space reserved for it. It has seen a custom rebuild by a 36 year certified Lancaster County Porsche tech. The mill has been increased to 2100 plus cc. The mill has been line bored, oversized pistons and cylinders are inside and performance cams have been added. It is topped by a 1-barrel carburetor and has a 5-speed manual transmission on the back. There is a 4.429 final drive on the rear axle. Consignor states less than 500 miles have been out on this newly rebuilt drivetrain. Undercarriage Some slight patina is noted on this aero paneled undercarriage. Independent suspension is all around as are disc brakes with new calipers, master cylinder and pads. Like new, (and indeed it is), dual exhaust is exhaling out the back of the car. The clutch has also been rebuilt with a resurfaced flywheel. Also, the fuel tank has been etched and coated. Several new seals are also seen throughout. Drive-Ability A fun little Porsche that exhibits nice handling capabilities. The interior was comfortable, and surprisingly roomy. The new tires stuck like glue and all functions were working An added extra appearance group, console gauge package, Port install AC R134, 15 inch Mahle wheels, and a console cushion make for a visually pleasing sports car for sure. Yellow paint is looking good, slight fading on the vinyl targa top, and a clean interior. Don't waste too much time thinking, just do it and the Holy Grail of the 914's will be yours!

1973 Volkswagen Super Beetle

Lot # 217 (Sale Order: 110 of 115)

This very nicely kept 1973 Super Beetle, which has had an open checkbook restoration with upgrades so states our consignor in anticipation of another 49 years of reliable service. Many aspects are original and kept that way of not in need of restoration. The complete engine rebuild was performed by a certified Lancaster, PA Porsche mechanic, and the car is looking snappy. Will you get the bug, or did you get the jab!? Exterior This sport bug is set apart from the masses by the use of all black trimmings in lieu of chrome. It is bathed in Saturn Yellow, and I can assure you it looks great. To make it a bit more efficient, the windows were removed and the fenders taken off then it was sprayed. An OEM style stripe kit is seen with a wide black stripe and 2 thinner edge stripes in red bordering the wide black one. Bumpers are black, side view mirrors are black, as per the Sport package, the front and rear fender guards and a rear engine lid has grilles. Elephant footprint rear tail lighting is on and just below, another black bumper with a central yellow stripe is seen, and dual black exhaust tips peeking out from underneath. Running boards connect the fenders, which show 1973 turn signals attached to the front fenders. 15-inch Lemmerz GT sport wheels are starring on all 4 corners, and 195/65R15 rubber from the 18th week of 2019 is wrapping them. Interior Starting upfront under the hood is a pristine storage area all covered in black vinyl. Next up are the door panels which look factory and showroom also in all black right down to the window cranks and door actuator. Shiny vinyl and charcoal gray for the inserts cover the correct Recaro high back buckets in front with headrests, and the bench in back matches nicely. These are original to the car as are the door cards. For the dash it's the KISS theory with a bump up in front of the driver that contains a large circular gauge cluster within that circle. A few knobs and pulls are underneath running across the dash until eventually meeting up with the AM radio. Fronting the dashes a sport steering wheel by Petri AG, and just to mention again, the seats are by Recaro. Black carpeting covers the floors and in the center of the hump is a small stick shifter in a molded storage tray and cup holder operation. The headliner is white, and tight as a drum, and gets to look down upon all this sporty menagerie. Drivetrain A bit more customization for this V-Dub as it sports a 1600cc horizontally opposed, air cooled, carbureted with a 1-barrel carburetor for this engine. As noted, it was completely and professionally rebuilt. This is attached to a 4 speed manual transmission. The rear mounted power plant sports dual exhaust with black exhaust tips. Note the engine bay has been nicely finished and detailed. Also all new clutch, exhaust, and all associated lines, heat and cooling tubes and emissions equipment. Undercarriage Front and rear suspension are independent, with the front having transverse torsion bars and the rear sporting semi trailing arm suspension. The rear axle codes out at 3.875 ratio. Drum brakes are all around. Solid rust free stamped floor pans and clean rockers are noted. The fuel tank was boiled out and coated, then new fuel lines were added on. This is also true for the brake lines and brakes are all newly installed. Drive-Ability This car started right up, and drove smoothly. It shifted well, and was dead silent from the suspension when pushed into a turn. All working functions, and that wonderful tinny exhaust sound you can only get from these classic bugs. As stated this car can definitely be driven anywhere with complete confidence. I picked Florida and warmer weather! Let’......s hop in and go, but I’......m drivin’....... A very well done top to bottom restoration/rebuild for this Sport bug. No expenses spared, and basically a like new 1973 example. Nifty color scheme, (although I assumed Saturn was red, but who cares it's cool in yellow). Love the sound, love the handling, and love the comfort with utilitarian aspect. OUCH…...... I just got bit by a bug!

1954 Chevrolet 3100 Series Pickup

Lot # 218 (Sale Order: 111 of 115)

1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup For consignment and your enjoyment, a customized and restored Chevrolet 3100 Series pickup, retaining its original styling just as it was on the showroom floor 69 years ago but with a modern frame, drivetrain and suspension underneath. The Advanced Design from Chevrolet was billed as stronger, larger and sleeker, and the first redesign since WW2. This truck is also sporting a custom 7-foot bed and late model 20" wheels. Exterior Bathed in an amateur application of orange, there is orange peel, evidence of prior body work, some crazing of the finish, and a light spray in some areas. Originality was the mindset for the body, and it has it from the black front grille including a triple row of large horizontal grille bars bisected by a vertical bar, with parking lights incorporated in the grille, (incidentally, these interchanged with the corresponding GMC model). The new grille could be ordered in chrome, but because this cost extra, it is seldom seen on surviving trucks. On painted grilles, the outer bars were painted in the body color; the inner bars are painted the correct thistle gray. Black bumpers in front and rear finish off this 3100 at either end. All the way through, the 7-foot custom bed which is lined with polished diamond plate steel and sports a diamond plate tool box. Due to the curved fenders being on the outside, you get a full unobstructed bed, (why weren’......t they doing this all along? GENIUS!). A mix of blacked out and stainless trim wrap the cabin glass, including the wrap-around corner windows. Late model 20-inch aluminum 5-spoke wheels are wrapped in staggered width blackwall radials from the 18th week of 2018. Interior Sprayed in body matching orange, the full metal dash holds a simple vertical ribbed front and center, but in front of the driver is a late model General Motors instrument cluster with a digital odometer and a slew of gauges. The door panels do not disappoint either with tan broadcloth uppers, chrome actuators and cranks, and twin storage areas including one made as a netted pouch. A pair of late model bucket seats in charcoal gray broadcloth with hobnail inserts flank an orange and silver trimmed console that races up to meet the dash and holds an aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo as well as push buttons for the headlights and 4wd selector. A late model steering column grows just from the dash and is topped with a thick wood rimmed Pilot steering wheel. Drivetrain Opening the massive hood, we are met with a 4.3 Liter Vortec V6 mill. It sits in a slightly dusty engine bay and is fed by EFI. Backing this is a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission that shifts very smoothly, and throws power to a 10 bolt rear axle. Undercarriage A quick glance makes one think this is original, but here is where things take a turn to the modern side. A late model frame is now supporting the original body and is equipped with an independent coil spring front suspension while traditional leaf springs are in the rear. Structurally sound, it takes on the appearance of what a beautifully aged undercarriage would over time with only minor patina and surface rust. Power disc brakes are on up front and in the back are, you guessed it....more power disc brakes. A single stock style exhaust system is on for the big exhale. Drive-Ability A quick starter, smooth idle, and easy smooth shifting from the automatic. Overall the suspension felt nice and tight with no sloppy ride lumbering around curves here, this truck is a performer and a head turner as well. A few frowns crept up during our drive, that being a radio that didn't belt out any tunes and when pushing the 4x4 buttons it was unclear as to whether the transfer case engaged the front axle. Overall a nicely performed amateur customization/restoration retaining the original bodystyle, but with a modern twist for the undercarriage and interior. This truck works very well on all fronts, and runs like it's 1954/1994 all over again, and we just left the lot with a smile on our face. 1954 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup For consignment and your enjoyment, a customized and restored Chevrolet 3100 Series pickup, retaining its original styling just as it was o...moren the showroom floor 69 years ago but with a modern frame, drivetrain and suspension underneath. 1964 Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible

Lot # 219 (Sale Order: 112 of 115)

For consignment, a somewhat rare, (low production), car in the form of a 1964 Mercury Caliente Comet convertible. ... Popular among street rodders, most examples have been modified, however here we have a slightly modified for performance original with straight steel, well minded gaps, and beautiful chrome. ... A few minor faults at the seams, and some chipping of the paint, but over-all an excellent example of this midsize upscale grocery getter, a getaway for the parents car firmly for the suburban crowd. And it's a convertible! Exterior Bathed in deep blue almost black paint, which is in good rust free condition, we note a few areas of chipping however no areas of rust, even under the door jambs where it is frequently overlooked. ... All gaps are well minded, and upfront with its distinct Mercury outward V shaped fine mesh egg crate grill, and dual headlights flanking on either side, bumper below all shined up, were looking like the Comet. ... A nice smooth hood is flanked by good looking front quarters, moving rearward to a single door with a shiny mirror attached and clean chrome handles. ... Noted feature of these cars is their swept black wheel wells which are particularly evident on the rear quarters and are sporting small fins which tastefully angle back and overshoot the trio of round taillights below. Noted the stamped in, large spear with COMET badging on each rear quarter in lieu of the actual adhered spears of yore. ...  ...Between these taillights is corresponding outward smaller V chrome trim, emulating the grille and connecting the taillights. ... Below a nice bumper. ... A black convertible top showing like new, (and it is, plus has a boot to cover the mechanism when lowered), with a clear rear window covers up if needed in bad weather. ... On all 4 corners are shiny dog dish style wheels with trim rings wrapped by black wall radials. Interior With Mercury being the upscale model of the blue oval, door panels have extra attention paid to the design and materials with black vinyl tile shaped padded grid with numerous horizontal trimmings and a rectangular frame of the thin trimming. ... Door handles and cranks as well as the armrest/pull have some extra shine, and a courtesy light in working condition is just below the armrest. ... Crossing the shiny threshold, beautiful overstuffed low back two tone buckets in front and a bench in back keep the hits coming. ... These chairs have more rectangular tile stitched and white buttoned black inserts and smooth white bolsters and a bevy of black piping to keep you eye dancing over them. ... A small but effective black and white center console is between these buckets and hides the hump which disappears mostly due to being covered like the floors, in black nice carpet. ... The original pristine dash is upfront and has a black padded vinyl top and plenty of chrome/aluminum trimmings surrounding the instruments and gauges. ... Shiny pulls and knobs are onboard and share a border on the lower dash with the shiny metal and black painted bottom of the dash. ... An Alpine stereo system with Kenwood speakers has been added in. ... The original big steering wheel is framed in black with some chrome rings and dual chromed supports with a center hub and our Mercury God in profile, reminding you of what you're driving. ... An overhead view of the interior with the black tonneau and white piping shows a simply gorgeous designed upscale interior. A shout to the trunk which has the plaid green and white vinyl liner and a full size spare tire. ... Drivetrain A lift of the hood, and bling shouting loudly greets us. ... This 289ci V8 has shine all around with a chromed air cleaner cover, and chromed valve covers. ... It is a correct as built mill and includes a new 2 barrel Holley carburetor atop with an electric choke. ... On back is a C4 transmission in 3 speed automatic form, and a Ford 8 inch rear axle is on back. ... Supple hoses and like new wires abound here too. An alternator is within a generator case looking original but it's an alternator! Undercarriage Solid unibody rust free construction keeps it simple underneath so we can skip right to the suspension which is independent coil springs for the front and leaf springs for the back. ... Power disc brakes have been added to the front and in the rear are power drums and a Turbo muffler exhaust is now installed. Drive-Ability I clamored to get into this mid century modern upscale 2 door, and it was well worth it. ... It fired right up and on the test track accelerated beautifully, came to a bias free panic stop, and shifted smoothly. ... All this and working functions as well as looking fabulous doing it! A fine somewhat rare example of the Comet Caliente convertible all buttoned up and looking just great, ready for your driveway, all you have to do is agree on a fair price, and then turn the key….......it just does not get any easier. 4H25K537988 4-1964 H-Lorain, OH Assy Plant

1981 Pontiac Trans Am Bandit Special Edition

Lot # 221 (Sale Order: 114 of 115)

1981 Pontiac Trans Am Bandit Special Edition For consignment, a fully restored, 1 of 932 built, (production records vary), the WS6/Y84 1981 version of the screaming chicken adorned hood, T topped, black Trans Am from Pontiac. This car sports miles deep paint, black broadcloth interior, all paperwork from when the car was delivered new, and all the photos and receipts from when the restoration was being done. "Hey Snowman, ya got your ears on?" Exterior Code 19, Starlite Black bathes the exterior of this racy looking car. It will stand out in a crowd, and with a huge gold screaming chicken decal, two tone, (gold and beige), decal badging and polished aluminum and gold snowflake style wheels. All fender flaring and neoprene bumpers are matching the body black and a rear spoiler. The body is in very good condition with no chip offs or rust to note, just a pure calm sea of black. Side vents can be seen on the front quarters, and a chin spoiler is just below the gold highlighted black twin lower grilles. The back is more racy with the rear spoiler and black horizontal bar panel to use the taillights. Another clean black neoprene bumper is hanging on the bottom. Up top it features lightly smoked glass for the removable “......T”...... top and all trimmings for the tinted side windows are in black and have been highlighted with gold pinstriping. More gold pinstriping frames the wheel wells as well as the rear spoiler and a smaller version of the hood chicken is seen on the B-pillars. A shaker hood with the scoop looking out through the hole in the hood, badged 5.0 Litre. "That's an attention getter." -Buford T. Justice ***Due to varying emissions control devices being removed, please check with your state, county, local or provincial motor vehicle department to verify the ability to legally register this vehicle in your area*** Interior Black is the color motif for the interior chosen and it fits perfectly with the black exterior theme. Swinging the long doors and getting past the black colored vinyl door panels which are showing a side view mirror toggle, power lock switch, and black carpeting down below, these panels are showing some slight wrinkling but are otherwise near perfect. Moving inside we are greeted with high back buckets in front and a 2 plus 2 bench for the back. These are covered in broadcloth with striped gray and black inserts and the bolsters are solid black cloth. A warm black console shoots forward between the buckets and houses a glovebox, power window switches, and shift lever. As it rises it meets the gold circle machined pattern aluminum dash that houses black faced original gauges. Plenty of them as well all in circle form and even a factory tachometer and clock is seen on drivers left. Air-conditioning, a multitude of gauges, a see-through roof, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM/Cassette and power antenna. What more could you want? Oh, I know, read on! Drivetrain Under the screaming hood is the original 305ci Chevrolet V8. It has a single 4-barrel carburetor on top and a T10 4-speed manual on back. A 10-bolt 3.42 Positraction rear axle spins the tires. This engine bay is fully restored with wonderful paint and soft supple hoses. "She's as strong as an ox." -Bandit Undercarriage No rust, including nearly no surface rust is seen throughout with independent coil spring suspension in front and leaf springs in back. Power disc brakes are upfront, and power drums on back. A single exhaust ends splits into a dual system with stock style mufflers and dual shiny chrome tips behind each rear wheel. Drive-Ability As I slipped in for my test drive I buckled myself firmly in the black high backs and was off. Nice acceleration from the 305 cuber and good shifting from the T10 along with bias free panic stopping was noted. I kept looking in my rearview mirror for a smokie but all I kept hearing was my crack decoder and partner in crime whining about having to pee. Naturally I broke out my best Buford T. Justice impression and told him, "Swallow it, I'm busy!". Overall a splendid drive, although we never got chased by the local po-po nor did we get to run blocker for The Snowman, but we did enjoy a well-functioning car with only a few frowns to note; the reverse lights did not illuminate and the check engine light came off and on, (most likely due to the lack of catalytic converters). Wonderfully restored with all its fairings and flaring, scoops and spoilers, and the smoked T tops, we are firmly in Trans Am heaven, but actually in the West hallway of the Classic Automatic’......s Malls Hallowed Halls. Paperwork and documentation galore along with a wonderful presentation will keep you on the podium at nearly every show you enter, but it won't let you slip past old Buford and his dimwitted son Junior, maybe you could bribe them with a Diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper? Pepper?
