German Potsdam Model 1809 Percussion Conversion Musket

Lot # 26 (Sale Order: 26 of 336)      

.71 caliber, 41.25" barrel, no S/N. Black painted finish with refinished stock. Front sight mounted on rear of front barrel band with tang mounted v-notch rear sight block. Three spring-retained brass barrel bands marked " 96. " Barrel marked with proofs and " {CROWN}/FW/N. " Lockplate marked " {CROWN}/R " over " Potsdam " in script. Buttplate marked " 7.J.R.10C./152, " indicating issue to 10th company, 7th Regiment, musket number 152. Replacement ramrod.

Condition: Fair as is. Some thinning to blackened finish. Stock shows some handling marks but is free of major cracks and splits. Markings are somewhat weak due to refinishing process. Mechanically functional. Bore is fair; some old fouling and pitting.

20 gauge, 25" barrel, S/N 95024 (ca 1957). Length of pull 14", drop at heel 2". 2.75" chamber, improved cylinder choke. Reblued finish with checkered forend and grip. Silver bead front sight with vented and matted rib. Barrel marked with gauge, cylinder, and Winchester trademark. Bottom of receive marked with serial number.

Model 1884 First Type Springfield Cadet Rifle

Lot # 30 (Sale Order: 30 of 336)      

.45-70 caliber, S/N 494396 (ca 1890). Blued finish with cadet stock. Three-click tumbler with grooved trigger and two-piece triggerguard. Two spring-retained bands void of sling swivels with top band mounted with stacking swivel. Blade front sight with Buffington pattern rear sight. Correct slotted ramrod. Barrel marked with " V/P/{EAGLE} " proofs with secondary proof and additional " I " marking. Trapdoor marked with three-line model markings. Counterpane marked with " SWP /1889 " cartouche of Samuel W. Porter with " P " proof rear of triggerguard.

Condition: Good. Barrel has a mostly plumb patination with some lightening towards breech. Case hardening gone from lockplate and hammer with some minor remnants on tang. Stock shows some handling marks and blemishes consistent with age and use, but is free of major cracks and splits. Bore is fair; some darkening with old pitting. Worn but visible rifling.

.36 caliber, 29" octagonal barrel, no S/N. Blued finish with plain forend and grip, carved cheek piece. Blade front sight with v-notch rear sight block. Brass fittings with set trigger.

Condition: Fair. Barrel has a mixed patination with some thinning on sharp edges. Stock has some minor handling marks with some evidence of refinishing. Mechanically functional, no half cock. Bore is poor; mostly dark with some old fouling and corrosion. Visible but worn rifling, could clean to better.

U.S. Model 1873 Trapdoor Springfield Carbine

Lot # 32 (Sale Order: 32 of 336)      

.45-70 caliber, 22" barrel, S/N 156524 (ca 1881), Blued finish with military stock. Blade front sight with correct "C" marked rear sight. Three-click tumbler. Barrel marked " V/P/{EAGLE} " proofs with counterpane showing " SWP/1881 " cartouche of Samuel Porter. Lockplate marked with " U.S./SPRINGFIELD " with American eagle.

Condition: Fair to good. Barrel has a silver gray coloration with some scratches and dents near breech. Dark patination to lockplate, trap door, and hammer. Stock has some minor handling marks with a sliver of missing wood under lockplate, but is in otherwise very good condition. Bore is poor; mostly dark with some old fouling with barely visible rifling.

.62 caliber 39.5" smooth barrel, no S/N. Cleaned finish with sanded stock. Brazed brass front sight with bayonet stud at 2 o'clock position. Back-action lock with three spring-retained barrel bands. Proofs on barrel and bands, likely French. Includes triangular bayonet marked " T. BLAND. "

Condition: Fair. Barrel has a streaked pewter patination with some handling marks on stock. Mechanically functional. Bore is fair with some fouling and minor pitting.

.700 bore diameter, 4.75" barrel length, no S/N. No markings. This is a European flint conversion to percussion. Iron furniture with walnut stock. Missing the hammer.

Condition: Fair condition with staining and light oxidation on the iron furniture. Stock has nicks and scratches throughout. Bore is fair and can clean to better. Mechanically needs work.

7.63mm caliber, 5.5" barrel, S/N 16355 . Blued finish with 12-groove wood grips. Blade front sight with 1000-yard tangent rear sight. Bottom of barrel marked with C.A.I. import marking. Left side of frame marked with two-line Astra address, caliber, and 1928 patent date. Serial number marked on let side of frame above grip. Spanish proofs on right side of frame alone with slide and barrel. Grip shows stock groove and lanyard ring.

Condition: Fair. Mixed dark gunmetal and dark pewter patination with some light oil stains. Some handling marks and dents to grips, but free of major cracks and splits. Bore is poor to fair; some old pitting and fouling with worn rifling.
