Condition: The barrel and frame have a dark brownish plum patina throughout. The lower and upper buttstocks and fore end are in good condition, with minimal signs of use. The locking mechanism behind the lever is missing. The bore is in good condition and could use a light cleaning.

Condition: The barrel has a dark plum patina, fading to a mottling at the receiver. The stock has some nicks and dings, and the markings are crisp and present. The nickel on the fore end cap is mostly present, but worn on some edges. The bore is in good condition, and could use a light cleaning. The cleaning rod compartment is empty.

Condition: The barrel has a bright finish, with some original finish near the breech. The receiver also has a bright finish, with some light traces of the blackened finish remaining. The stock has some slight nicks and dings but is in very good overall condition. The bore is in very good condition.

Condition: The barrel has an even blue finish with light fading where a bayonet once was fixed to the front. The receiver has traces of blue fading to an even gray patina. The stock and bore are in very good condition. The leather shows normal wear for its age.

Colt U.S. Cavalry Revolver, in 4th Cavalry S/N Range

Condition: This desirable early U.S. cavalry Colt single action revolver is in overall very good condition displaying a dark patina on metal surfaces. The numbers are matching on the frame, cylinder, barrel, trigger guard and backstrap. The action is crisp, the markings good and the bore good overall. The grips are good to very good with wear and scattered old mars and scratches.

Colt U.S. Artillery Single Action Army Used During the Filming of the "Range Rider"
Lot # 385 (Sale Order: 381 of 698)
.45 caliber, 5.5” barrel, S/N 138292. Re-blued finish, stag grips, two-line patent address, “US” marking on left side of frame.
Accompanied by a hand printed note on “From the desk of Dick Jones” letterhead stating:
“This 45 caliber single action revolver, serial number 138292, was given to me by my TV partner, Jock Mahoney in 1953. “Jocko” used this Peacemaker during the filming of our TV Western series, the Range Rider, which aired in 1951-1954. (Signed) Dick Jones 12-04-08”.
Dick Jones was a star during the heyday of the TV Western, appearing not only in “The Range Rider,” but also performing as the lead in the series “Buffalo Bill Jr.” In addition to the provenance letter, included in this lot is a publicity photo of actors Jock Mahoney and Dick Jones, in Western garb, astride their faithful steeds. Mahoney is wearing a single action Army revolver that possibly may be the revolver in this lot.
Condition: This gun is in overall good to very good condition as re-blued. Its action is crisp, the markings are overall good and the bore is very good. The older non-factory stag grips are very good, displaying a pleasing yellow patina and fit this revolver nicely.

Condition: The barrel has almost all of its original blue finish remaining, with a small area of fading near the barrel band. The loading gate and receiver have almost all of their original blue finish, with some light fading on the receiver. The stock has some slight nicks and dings, along with some staining to the finish on the butt, but is in very good overall condition. The compartment in the buttplate is empty. The bore is in very good condition.

The upper tang has a slight crack extending through the top screw. The bore is in good condition and could use a cleaning.

The bore is good and can clean to better. Mechanically very good.

The markings on the barrel are fading but legible. Mechanically good. The bore is good with strong rifling and some light pitting.

The silver plating is mostly present on the trigger guard and backstrap, with some brass showing through on the edges. The engravings are crisp and expertly concise throughout the entirety of the revolver. The grips and bore are in very good condition. The mechanics are very good. The interior paper label on the box has some light wear.

**Engraved Colt Single Action Army Revolver belonging to Stanley Stahl Jeppsen

Stanely Stahl Jeppsen was born in Nebraska to immigrants from Denmark. In his 81 years, Mr. Jepssen was involved in many activities that brought him in contact with many people, some of whom were famous. He was an expert horseman, a rodeo performer, western cattle rancher, professional football player, movie actor, and involved with mining and real estate. His friends included artist Charles Russell and the Truman Family. His associations included Jim Thorpe, Tom Mix and William S. Hart.
Condition: This gun retains most of the re-blue finish on the barrel and ejector with some wear to the muzzle. Retains most of the re-blue finish on the trigger guard and back strap. The cylinder retains some of the blue finish with wear to the edges. Vibrant re-case colored frame and hammer. The grips are very good with minimal wear. Bore is very good. Mechanically very good.
