Condition: This gun is in overall very good condition showing scattered areas of original blue on barrel assembly and frame mixed with brown patina and scattered spots of erosion and light pitting. The action is crisp, the set trigger is working at time of description. The markings are good and the bore is fair +. The wood stocks are overall very good with scattered old mars and scratches from carry and storage.

Condition: The barrel has a little blue that is turning to a plum patina. The frame has very minor salt and pepper pitting on the top. In front of cylinder near barrel the frame retains some case coloring. The grips are good with wear. Markings are sharp. Mechanically good. The bore is good. The badge is in good untouched condition.

Condition: Retaining most of the original bluing. A small area of blue to grey over the top of the chamber. Still retains most of the fire blue finish on some of the parts. Checkered walnut grips are excellent. Missing the clip, firing pin and one of the internal locking rails. Bore is excellent. This exact pistol is illustrated on page 95 of the Mauser Pistolen by Weaver Speed Schmid. This is a very rare variation with the hand-engraved three-line address.

**General John "Black Jack" Pershing Colt Model 1908 Pocket Pistol and Archive

The balance of the archive includes a 15.5" x 12" autographed photo portrait presented to a Capt. Hartley dated "Aug. '23" and held in a wooden Art Nouveau frame and an autographed copy of the final report of Gen. John J. Pershing presented to Ambassador John W. Davis. Additional items include large oval frame with domed glass with a color print portrait, a second paperback copy of Pershing's final report, two smaller framed print portraits, sheet music, and several Pershing-related pinback badges, insignia and more, useful as part of a display with the pistol.
Condition: Pistol is very good showing moderate holster wear, very good bore. Archive in generally good condition, the signed copy of the final report has a broken spine and edge wear.

**Pre-War Colt Model 1911A1 .38 Super Automatic Pistol w/ Factory Letter Belonging to Otto Ferguson

This extremely rare Colt Model 1911A1 .38 Super Automatic Pistol is one of only 42 pistols listed on factory records as being factory engraved or inscribed pre-War. The engraving as listed on the factory letter includes "T & W.A. No. 32", which refers to the Transcontinental and Western Air. This pistol was one of 42 pistols in the shipment and was featured on the cover of the Texas Gun Collectors Spring 2007 issue. The pistol was issued and carried by Otto Ferguson a pilot for T & W.A.. Pilots were required by law to be armed when carrying United States Mail on commercial flights.
On April 7, 1936, Otto Ferguson was piloting a Douglas Model DC-2 from Newark, New Jersey to Los Angles, California when the flight met an untimely demise. The plane carrying 14 passengers and United States Mail had 12 fatalities with 2 severely injured. Among the fatalities was Otto Ferguson and in his possession at the time of the accident was this Colt Model 1911A .38 Super Automatic Pistol. This pistol survived the accident and was given back to the Ferguson family. This small archive contains family documents attesting this pistol, Colt factory letter, personal artifacts from Otto Ferguson, a history on TWA/Howard Hughes and historical research on the accident.
Condition: The gun is in overall very good to excellent condition maintaining most of the original blue finish with wear to the high edges. All markings are sharp and crisp. Mechanically good with a very good bore. This is a fine example of a rare Model 1911A1 .38 Super Automatic that tells a unique story within our aeronautical history.
