At the next stop light, turn right onto Harpers Rd, go 100 fet and then turn left into the Harpers Road Commerce Park - the auction house is located on the back left.

Some indication this might have been a nickeled carbine, light pitting, mostly patina with the barrel being " long. Action works fine. No dust cover, the butt stock is a period handmade replacement and the barrel by the front sight is bulged. Looks like an "Indian" used weapon. Serial number is too faint to read.

This 1903-produced Winchester Model 1886 .33 WCF Lever-Action Rifle is in very good condition, as refinished, with 85% bluing. Bore is very good. as is the wood, with a "shotgun" style buttplate. The .33 WCF is a good round for deer, elk, or black bear in wooded terrain at medium range, it out performs the ballistically similar .35 Remington, and can be improved with modern powders. This Cross of Military Service was awarded by the United Daughters of the Confederacy to a WWI veteran who was a direct descendant of a Confederate veteran. To qualify for a UDC Cross of Military Service, a person must prove--and this is a legal proof--(1) lineal descent from a soldier, sailor, or leader of the Confederacy; and (2) that he, himself served in a combat zone during the war the UDC medal commemorates. It is numbered 3010 to SGT Charles Forsythe Clowdsley, 143rd Field Artillery, 40th Division. It has the dolphin attachment denoting overseas combat.
