Revolutionary War era Officer Hunting or Small Sword

A Revolutionary War-Napoleonic War era Officer Small Sword in very good condition with only light pitting on the blade. It is a Germanic hunting sword style hanger with a heavily embellished brass grip and a clip point blade engraved with a Turkish style warrior (a popular motif of the time). A similar hanger is pictured in "Weapons of the American Revolution" (see item 90), and a nearly identical example sold for $1500 recently at another Proxibid auction. USMC Civil War era Horstmann NCO Sword

Lot # 2 (Sale Order: 3 of 316)      

This US Marine Corps Civil War era Horstmann produced Non-Commissioned Officer Sword is in good condition overall. It is similar to the current USMC NCO sword, but with a wider and straighter blade and more ornate guard. It was based on the Army M-1850 Foot Officers Sword, but is much scarcer. The brass and steel both have a medium patina but no real pitting, and the engraved blade shows some wear. The original leather scabbard has shrunk and is in two pieces, but could be restored. The leather and wire on the grip is mostly gone, but the wood underneath is still solid. This sword was produced by Horstmann, who stopped production after the Civil War, thus dating it to or before the war. It is a rare sword seldom seen for sale today. ...more

US Civil War era Model 1860 Field & Staff Officers Sword - General Officer's Presentation Grade

This rare and collectible US Army Civil War era Model 1860 Field & Staff Officers Sword is a top quality General Officer's Presentation Grade example in very good condition. The Civil War era versions were produced by Horstmann of Philadelphia as is this example. It has a 30 ½” blade richly decorated with gold inlayed engraving. "E. Pluribus Unum" is prominent with a panoply of multiple military motifs. The ornate bronze finsh guard is pierced and very fancy, with silver grips. It has darkened with a rich patina and has the standard folding hand guard with U.S. and the American Eagle on the other side. These swords were specially ordered as gifts or presentations, and the high quality of this example would have been for a high-ranking General Officer. US Civil War era Muscian's Sword

Authentic 1863 dated US Army Civil War Musician Sword is in good condition with leather scabbard. It is marked “Ames Manf Co. Chicopee Mass”. It has the 1863 date and “US” and is proofed “AHC” on the opposite side. The brass handle and guard are in very good condition with light patina, and the 28" blade has some minor nicks. The blade’s tip shows signs of pitting, and the black leather scabbard is broken at the brass drag and is decorated with a turks head knot below the throat. A 100% authentic Civil War sword. ...more

US Civil War 2nd New Jersey Regt Bullseye Canteen

This rare and desirable US Army Civil War bull’s-eye canteen is covered with sky blue wool and a cotton sling. The front is regimentally unit marked with 2ND N.J., and the brass chain and cork stopper are present. The pewter spout is marked Philadelphia and the interior is in good condition. The sling is soiled but in good condition with no rips or tears. This canteen and upcoming pouches all came together from a pre-1950s collection. US Civil War era 2nd New Jersey Regimental Cartridge Pouch

This rare and desirable black leather US Army Cartridge Box/Pouch is complete with a New Jersey brass box plate, and original sling with the brass round eagle breast plate. The leather shows crazing, damage and wear, but is in amazingly good condition. The pouch is full of made up black powder cartridges from the 1960s, when the previous owner used it for North-South Skirmish Assc matches! We can not ship these cartridges, but if you’re close we’ll be glad to hold them for you to pick up. This item came from an old pre-1950s collection of 2nd New Jersey Regt items. US Civil War era 2nd New Jersey Regimental Cap Pouch

This Civil War era percussion Cap Pouch is in good condition considering its age and use. The black leather is worn and slightly flaking on the flap and belt loops, however the remainder is still in very good condition with pliant leather. This cap box retains a brass New Jersey box plate that is fastened with a leather band through two brass loop on the back. This items came together with the previous lots from an old pre-1950s collection. This 30/06 M-1 Garand is in fair condition that has a rough stock with an approx 4” crack on the left side and a hairline crack behind the tang. US M-1D Sniper Garand Semi-Automatic Rifle FFL # 2999778

This Springfield M-1 Garand has been fitted with an M84 scope and mount, with clear optics in good condition. The barrel is marked and dated SA 52 and has a good bore with sharp rifling, chambered for the .30/06 cartridge. The stock is in good condition with the cartouche JLG on the left side, the M-1907 sling is marked Boyt and is 1918 dated. This rifle features a flash suppresser, cheek rest marked “MRT 2-62” that has been screwed into the butt stock. This rifle is in overall good condition and is not import marked. This early US Army Colt M-1894 Double Action Revolver was one of Colt's first swing-out cylinder revolvers. It is serial numbered 61674 and dated 1894 with standard Army marks. It is chambered for the 38 Colt with a 6 shot cylinder. It has very good blued finish, but is probably arsenal re-worked. Bore is very good but dirty. Comes with a US military flap holster that is worn but serviceable. This is an antique revolver that served in the Span-Am War and in the Philippines....more

US Army Colt M-1911 Semi-Auto Pistol FFL # 408334

This very desirable US Army Colt M-1911 Semi-Auto .45 ACP Pistol was produced in 1918 for WWI and looks to be 100% correct. The metal finish has the original "black" bluing, though there is some finish spotting and the diamond pattern grips are still sharp. The bore is a bit dark but the rifling is strong. The magazine is a bit later than the pistol, but is the correct military style. Overall, a very good condition 1911 - one of the fastest appreciating pistols among collectors. ...more
