SALE HIGHLIGHT: Set of (4) Colt 1911 .45 ACP World War I Commemorative semi-auto pistols, with original display cases. All matching serial numbers (S/N 1849). All are in excellent, unfired and unhandled condition. Our consignor purchased them new in 1968, and said that he never even removed the magazines. Display cases have some light nicks and scuffs from 50+ years of storage, but the pistols are exquisite. Set includes Battle of Chateau-Thierry Commemorative (S/N 1849-CT), Meuse-Argonne Offensive Commemorative (S/N 1849-MA), Battle of Belleau Wood Commemorative (S/N 1849-BW), and 2nd Battle of the Marne Commemorative (S/N 1849-M2). All pistols have Colt's Royal Blue finish, with gold-filled engraving and lettering. Very nice, collector grade set of pistols. Check out the WWII set and NRA Centennial (lot # 9 & 10), because the serial numbers on those guns also match this set.
