The drawing depicts South Western Street, and was drawn by Disney imagineer Herbert Ryman. Ryman began his career at MGM before he began working for Walt Disney after being personally sought out by Disney, who was impressed by his works. Ryman went on to serve as an art director for beloved animated films such as Fantasia and Dumbo. Even after leaving Disney, Ryman stayed friends with Walt Disney and eventually helped Disney to turn his envisioned Disneyland into reality. This is an iconic, museum quality piece of Disney history, as Ryman drew the first illustrations of Walt Disney's vision of a theme park that eventually became Disneyland. Ryman contributed to Main Street U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle, New Orleans Square, Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World, and many other beloved attractions that are still enjoyed by millions to this day. This piece should be framed, and put in Disney's museum, or admired in a very sophisticated collection. This is an original sketch by Herbert Ryman, and was acquired from the estate of Stan Jolley. Stan Jolley was friends with Herbert Ryman, and another instrumental figure in bringing Disney's ideas to life. This lot will come with an auction lot card from a previous auction. The drawing is signed by artist Frank Murphy and dated 1932, along with the inscription, "To Howard Thompson from Frank Murphy." This is the episode where Chuckie finds a nickel in the sandbox, and the Rugrats start digging for more, thinking it is buried treasure. Of course, when Angelica finds out about the treasure she tries to take it all for herself. This particular scene is the moment when we see the shocked expression on Tommy's face when Chuckie tells Tommy that the nickel is gone, that he is glad that it is gone, and that there are no more nickels to be found. This bundle of key cel art was created by Klasky Csupo in 1993. This truly is a piece of iconic, bundled (sequential) cartoon key cel art, and is of the highest investment quality. Klasky Csupo was a company that was started in Los Angeles in 1982. They quickly became one of the Giants of the Cartoon industry. This piece is hand signed by animator and co-founder Gabor Csupo on the top layer. This exact cell is from: SEASON 3/EPISODE 10B @ 19 minutes 59 seconds in the episode. Each episode of Rugrats was two separate sequences, usually titled "A" and "B", and this particular cel was from the second sequence of the 10th episode in season 3.
