Thomas L. Booth was born in Pulaski, TN, and took many paths in becoming an exceptional artist.
Booth received his early education in Pulaski and graduated from Giles County High School in 1951. He then attended college for 2 years at Middle Tennessee State (now Middle Tennessee State University) through 1953. From there, Booth spent 4 years in Chicago, Illinois, studying at the School of Art Institute of Chicago and graduating with a BFA degree in Advertising Design in 1957.
Booth’s job experiences were remarkable. From 1957 through 1959, he was the exhibit designer for the Museum of Atomic Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. From 1959 – 1961, Booth was employed by the Department of Commerce, Washington, D.C. as an Industrial Design Draftsman designing plans for two United States Trade Fairs held in Osaka, Japan and Zagreb, Yugoslavia.

Booth was certified as an artist and by the Deputy Commissioner of Cultural Affairs of New York City and granted permission from Oct. 29, !971 to Oct. 29, 1974 to legally occupy a living-working loft in the M15A-B district or any legal A.I.R loft where zoning was permitted.
