"Masonic double edged sword having a 27-3/4"" unsharpened blade. Acid etched makers mark of ""The Pettibone Bros Mfg Co."" Obverse of blade having two-thirds acid etching of scrolled vine design, mounted knight with City of Jerusalem in background and owner's name ""Y.J.K.Golden:. Reverse of blade is similarly etched and contains scrolled vine design with scenes of two jousting medieval nights and the City of Jerusalem along with a Cross & Crown symbol. Nickel-plated brass pommel in the form of a helmeted Knights head. Black grip with inlaid silver-plated brass cross. Nickel-plated brass crossguard with bas-relief profiles of a Crusader on both sides. Plated metal scabbard is marked on reverse ""Union-Label"" and covered at the throat, midsection and drag with silver-plated cast brass fittings and suspension rings. Elaborative throat fitting contains wounded Knight scene, chest plate and cross-through-crown symbol.

Old Masonic Sword

Lot # 309 (Sale Order: 309 of 459)      

"Masonic double edged sword having a 30"" unsharpened blade. Acid etched makers mark of ""The Pettibone Bros Mfg Co. Cincinnati"" Obverse of blade having one-half acid etching with scrolled design containing a lion with the word ""BELLUM"", the name of Ray F. Stocking"" and a crown with crossed staff and sword with a three-link chain. Reverse of blade is similarly etched and contains a lamb with the word ""PAX"" and ""PATRIARCHS MILITANT IO-OF"", and shield with crown and ""JUSTITIA UNVERSALIS"" over a crossed staff and sword. Gold-plated brass pommel consists of a globe & crown. Black leather grip  with floral stamped-brass band wrapping. Gold-plated recurved brass crossguard contains a crown with crossed staff and sword with three-link chain. Plated metal scabbard is covered near the throat and midsection with gold-plated cast-brass fittings & suspension rings. Near the throat is a fitting containing scenes of an ""All Seeing Eye"", a lamb and lion and the words ""PAX AUT BELLUM"" over a scrolled design, with tow suspension rings. The midsection fitting contains stylized initials of ""GPR"" along with a suspension ring. Sword is tight in scabbard and is 36-7/8 inches overall.
