2013 Porsche 219 Hybrid Bicycle

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 52)

All proceeds from the sale of this bike will go directly to the Downs Syndrome Association of Pittsburgh

2013 Porsche ?219? Tribute Bicycle

Auction Estimate ? PRICELESS

Auction Benefiting ?Downs Syndrome Association of Pittsburg?

Porsche Tribute Bike 219

Hand Fabricated and Painted

Electric Hybrid, 12 volt Hub Motor

This Porsche bicycle is a tribute to commemorate the love from one brother to another. Bill Griffin was born in on February 19th 1960 in a small town in western Pennsylvania. Bill was born into a warm loving family, and shared a modest home with his mother, father and an older brother Tony. Billy and Tony were close and would play and ride bicycles when they were growing up, however Billy was different than most kids; he was born with ?Downs Syndrome?, a debilitating disease which there is no cure for. Tony eventually moved away and started working for Porsche. Whenever Tony would come home for family gatherings he would be driving a red Porsche. Bill liked the red Porsche and would often say ?Where?s mine??. Tony was a good mechanic and great fabricator, he took it upon himself to surprise his brother and build a special bicycle for him to ride around on.

The bicycle started out as a normal production bike evolving into a custom built electric over pedal power hybrid. Tony mounted a ?Hub Motor? to the front forks and then hand fabricated stylish aero shields to cover the motor. He then enclosed the frame structure of the bike using sheet metal panels also building a simulated gas tank to house the 12volt battery and wiring. Tony the painted the bike red with pin striping, fastened high rise chopper style handle bars and added Porsche badges. Then he named it the ?219?, a play on Porsche?s 919 Lemans winning racecar. But also, 219 represents February 19th, which happens to be Bills? birthday. Needless to say, Bill was ecstatic when Tony presented him with this wonderful bike which Bill treasured with all his heart. Sadly, Bill passed away last September; he would have been 57 on his birthday within a few days at the time of this writing. To celebrate Bill?s life and his pride and joy, this bike is being offered for auction. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the ?Down Syndrome Association of Pittsburg? in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. So, please bid generously for this worthy cause?..and in memory of Bill.

Making its way to US shores for the first time was in 1976. For 1977 the Turbo Carrera remained basically unchanged only increasing the wheel diameter from 15? to 16?. In 1978, Porsche raised the displacement to 3.3 litres and added an innercooler thus increasing the horsepower to 300 in full European trim.

This two owner 1977 Porsche 930 was a sold new in Canada. According to the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, it was delivered from the factory in Sienna Metallic (Burgundy) with Cork trimmed interior. Other factory options include factory sunroof, right hand mirror and dealer installed Blaupunkt Bamberg stereo cassette radio recorder. This 930 has had two previous owners and somewhere down the line it was repainted red. Last year the original engine was removed and completely overhauled to factory 1977 specs. This 911 Turbo runs of strong and will make a great daily driver or weekend cruiser. Today, the 1976 and 1977 911 Turbos are much sought after by purists due to their original looks with the original Whale Tale design, however to some collectors, the 1977 is more desirable, in particular because of the 16? Fuchs wheels. He is a 1977, you decide!

The Porsche 959 Prototype was the influencer for the next generation 911 billed as the ?964?. Initially offered with all-wheel drive, by 1990 a two-wheel drive with optional Tiptronic version also became available. The reengineered coil over rear suspension changed the handling dynamics of the 964 dramatically, minimizing the classic 911 oversteer, yet still retaining that Porsche ride quality and that air-cooled engine tone familiar to so many Porsche aficionados. The interior was also redesigned with plush carpeting, contoured door panels and a full-length console. Exterior wise, the front, rear bumpers and rear taillight panel received a smooth ?Aero Look? and 928 S4 GT style disc wheels were fitted to the car. During its 5 year run, the 964 had a distinct contemporary look setting it apart from other exotic car of the period.

This Alpine White with Black Leather Cabriolet before you is in showroom condition. The standard 5 speed manual and optional sport seats firmly position the occupants for that grin-inducing Porsche ride quality that only a 911 Porsche can deliver. Currently the car has a stereo cd player; however the factory Porsche am/fm cassette radio comes with the car. 1977 Porsche 911 S Coupe

Lot # 110 (Sale Order: 11 of 52)

1977 Porsche 911 S Coupe

AUCTION ESTIMATE $50,000 ? $60,000

 • Silver ?S? Model with Black interior
 • Power Brake
 • Sunroof
 • Rear Wiper
 • All Original
 • 2 owner car
 • Mechanical restoration
 • Stripped to bare metal & repainted
 • New Brakes & Tires
 • Miles are actual at 124k

This car was purchased by the current owner in July 2014. The 1st owner was a gentleman named Paul Guzowski who was an Air Force Captain stationed at Ramstein AFB in Germany. Mr. Guzowski took very good care of the car, and kept lots of service & parts receipts. In 1983, he was transferred to WPAFB and had the car exported to the USA where he drove it for 3 years. This Porsche is a USA Spec car and meets all US Safety Standards.

The car was then traded in at a local Chevy dealer in April 1986. David Broome bought the car from them with 89,636 miles on it. David decide to have the engine freshened up and the air box & fuel distributor replaced. The 911 continues to be serviced regularly and service work orders are with the car.

Unfortunately, Mr Broome fell ill and the car was then purchased by the current owner in July 2014. The car was in good condition, but due to sitting, the piston rings were not sealing and the engine was smoking out of the exhaust. The piston and cylinders were replaced with a Euro Spec set from Mahle. The car also received a valve job, the transmission was freshened up , and the clutch and rear shocks were replaced. The car ran and drove beautifully, but the paint was fading. So in March 2016, it was rea painted. The bumpers, lights, trim front and rear windshields were disassembled. The body was stripped down to the bare metal and no signs of any prior accidents, rust or any other damage were found. The car was then repainted back to the original silver, the wheels were redone, tires replaced and factory rubber seals installed. To make the car unique, the Carrera duck tail and stripes were added. The original deck lid is with the car, and the striped can be easily removed if the new owner wishes. The car also comes with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity.

The car runs very strong, shifts smoothly and handles great. Everything on the car works and it is an appreciating classic.

1957 Porsche 356 Speedster

Lot # 114 (Sale Order: 15 of 52)

1957 Porsche 356 Speedster

AUCTION ESTIMATE $225,000 ? $275,000

 • 356 Speedster with SCCA Race History
 • 300 Miles since Restoration
 • 356 Super 90 Motor
 • Rebuilt Engine and Transmission
 • Same Owner for 35 Years

Since day one this Spartan little open sports car has had a bad boy image, let alone with high profile owners like James Dean and Clark Gable, but with the new regime of guys like Rod Emory creating the modern day branding ?Outlaw?. In recent years, great examples of the iconic Porsche 356 Speedster have grown immensely and the have attained superstar status.

This Speedster was once owned by noted Porsche collector, Vic Skirmants and his wife Barbara, and raced as their personal race car. The current engine is a later 356 Super 90 and is rated at 90 horsepower which adequately propels this 1,800 pound former racer. The car has faithfully been restored to look and feel original, and is finished with red paint with a black interior. The seats have been trimmed with red piping and ads a little more flare to the otherwise simple cockpit. Another nice touch are the optional Super hubcaps with Porsche crests. Here is a rare opportunity to acquire a solid example of Porsche?s most desirable early sports cars, and old Speedsters in this restored condition with previous racing history are rarely found this nice, this one is ready to find a new home.

1969 Porsche 911

Lot # 115 (Sale Order: 16 of 52)

1969 Porsche 911 E Targa

Auction Estimate $115,000 ? $125,000

 • Porsche 911 E Targa
 • Rebuilt Period 2 Litre Engine
 • Recently Restored
 • Repainted Metallic Gold
 • Polished Fuchs Wheels

1969 was the first year for the long wheelbase 911?s and three new variants of the 911; ?T?, ?E? or the more powerful ?S?. Road and Track wrote that the longer wheelbase should improve handling, however the fierce problem of oversteer remained a dominant trait of all early 911?s until the introduction of the 1990 964 and later 1995 993?s. Factory 6? wide Fuchs wheels were standard on T and S models and the interiors received minor cosmetic changes including factory headrests. Historically, German cars are not known for being plush, only ergonomically correct, specifically for the driver since Porsches are a driver?s car.

This stunning example has been completely disassembled, reassembled and repainted in attractive Metallic Gold. The original black upholstery remained in nice original condition and was reinstalled along with German square weave carpeting and folding Targa top, with the goal of preserving as much originality as possible. Although this 69 911 started out as an ?E? with a fuel injected motor, the current engine is period correct rebuilt 2 litre flat six with Solex Carburetors. (not original to the car). This 911 rides on polished Fuchs wheels wrapped with all new rubber. Porsches are unique cars, they have a character all their own and that?s what sets them apart, this 911 Targa offers its next enthusiast miles of fast motoring and pleasurable cruising.

1961 Porsche 356 ?Outlaw? Roadster

Lot # 117 (Sale Order: 18 of 52)

1961 Porsche 356 Roadster

AUCTION ESTIMATE $165,000 ? $185,000

 • Stone Grey with Black top & interior
 • Outlaw style build with 912 Big Bore engine
 • California car from new
 • RS60 wheels
 • 1 of 500 built in 1961
 • Fabulous Restoration

The term ?Hot Rod? will likely conjure up thoughts of 1930s and 40s Fords, Chevys and other American iron with altered bodies, big engines and fat tires tearing up Main Street between lights or blasting down the salt flats. While hot rodding may have its roots solidly with American cars, the influx of imported sports cars in the 1950s meant that the practice soon spread to foreign makes as well. Volkswagen and Porsche in particular have traditionally been very popular with the custom car crowd. Their relative mechanical simplicity meant they were easy to work on, and as owners gained experience servicing them, they quickly found ways to make them faster. The VW crowd gravitated toward drag racing while the Porsche set was focused on making their cars faster around a road course or rally stage.

In the late 1980s though, the Porsche 356 was finding new favor with collectors who increasingly performed high-end restorations and trailered their cars from show field to show field. But Emory Motorsports of Oregon revived the Porsche hot-rod scene by slapping on fat wheels, hot engines and lots of period rally parts to then go out drive their cars hard. They were nicknamed ?Outlaws? as they flew in the face of the mainstream 356 community and their cars were far from the pampered concours queens that dominated the scene. Since that time, the ?outlaw? name stuck and has become synonymous with hot 356 Porsches of all types.

This attractive 356 B hot rod is a fabulous example of this now classic ?outlaw? style. It is finished in the very cool and understated shade of Glasurit Stone Grey over black upholstery and features plenty of wonderful period touches. Rather unusually for a customized 356, this build is based on a Roadster body. The Roadster was an evolution of the Speedster brought on by slow sales of the spartan Speedster and customer demands for more comfort. The basic little Speedster was refined with a slightly taller windscreen, proper roll-up windows and a larger, roomier folding top. The Roadster fit nicely between the hardcore Speedster and the more luxurious Cabriolet.

A California car from new, the body on this example is beautifully restored with excellent quality paint and finishing. It has been de-bumpered front and rear for a lean and racy look, and subtle cosmetic tweaks have been added such as the through-hood fuel filler, mesh horn grille screens, Talbot Green-Dot mirrors, rollbar and a louvered engine lid. It rides on a set of RS60 style wheels with alloy rims and steel centers; of course with no hub caps for that classic Porsche racer look and is set up with Koni adjustable shocks. A polished 4 cam ?pea shooter? exhaust system rounds out the rear. The cockpit is classic Porsche: Basic, functional and sporty. Our car has been fitted with Speedster style seats with carbon fiber shells upholstered in black by the marque experts at Autos International. Oatmeal squareweave carpets and correct-style rubber mats line the floors, and the dash has been refinished to match the body. A beautiful period style wood rimmed steering wheel has been fitted which feels great in the hands and thanks to its smaller diameter, sharpens steering inputs as well.

Of course, a hot rod is only as good as its engine and thankfully this 356 brings a hot, big-bore 912 engine running on dual Solex carburetors. It features a remote spin-on oil filter conversion and adjustable fuel pressure regulator but retains a subtle, period correct appearance without too much flash. Wiring and finishes are very tidy and the engine is very clean both top and bottom. It has benefited from $5,000 in recent mechanical sorting and is absolutely ready to drive. In the true spirit of the hot-rod Porsche 356, this is a car for driving events, weekend blasts and rallies. It has the added benefit of a well-fitted top and roll up windows should the weather take a turn on you and as beautiful as it is, we?d love to see it getting used regularly. We think this wonderful Roadster?s already fantastic looks will only improve with the addition of a few bug splatters and some good hard miles.

1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet

Lot # 118 (Sale Order: 19 of 52)

1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet

Auction Estimate $40,000 ? $50,000

 • Guards Red over Tan leather
 • 1 of Approximately 673 USA Spec Cabriolets
 • 5 Speed Manual Transmission
 • Cruise Control
 • Service Records

1990 is the second year for the new body style which borrows styling cues from Porsche?s voluptuous supercar, the 959. This was the first official year for the 3.6 litre C2 (Two Wheel Drive) version. The 911 was still offered in 3 body styles, Coupe, Cab and Targa both in two wheel and All-Wheel drive with or without tiptronic. With smoother bumpers, integrated taillights, rocker panels and a wing that pops up at 50 mph plus. The new more aero 964 (As it was known internally) seemed to inspire a new breed of 911 enthusiasts, yet appease the dyed-in-the-wool old Porsche purist as well.

The Guards Red C2 Cabriolet presented here has that 1990 factory brochure look. It is in original survivor condition and has been well preserved. The interior shows signs of minimal ware and factory amenities include air conditioning, power driver and passenger seats, cruise control and the factory Porsche AM/FM CD radio. The top works perfectly and the cloth fabric in great shape. The car has been well maintained, the engine runs smooth and the 5 spd manual shifts nicely up and down through all gears and the tires have plenty of tread life. The beauty of owning a 911 is that you get the visceral response and sound of an air-cooled rear-mounted engine, and as an added bonus you?ll have the unwanted envy of other car enthusiasts.

Lot # 119 (Sale Order: 20 of 52)

1997 Porsche 993 C2 Cabriolet

AUCTION ESTIMATE $55,000 ? $65,000

... Iris blue over grey leather, Matching Blue Top

... 100% original paint

... Low Mileage at 27,500

... 6 Speed

... Recent Service, Book and Records

The 993 Porsche retained the basic body shell architecture of earlier 911 models, but with revised external panels, flared wheel arches, smoother front and rear bumper design, teardrop mirrors, and an enlarged retractable rear wing and the formidable rear mounted air cooled flat six. The 993?s redesigned suspension was an improvement over its predecessor the 964, virtually eliminating most of the over steer, a trait of earlier 911s.

This extremely clean, bone stock 1997 993 cabriolet has a mere 27,500 miles showing on the odometer and is finished in a handsome color combination of Iris Blue over supple grey leather with a matching dark blue canvas top and boot. The interior features optional power seats, factory cassette stereo, and titanium trimmed shifter and handbrake handle. The car comes with all books, records and tool kit. It has had a recent full mechanical service and sports good tires. This fashionably blue beauty is ready to be enjoyed with the top down and the wind blowing, on a long and winding road.

 • 551 Original Miles, original Tires

The lovable little bug was the longest running production car in history using the same basic platform and sold around the world. Between 1938 and 1980 some 21,529,464 had been built. Americans have a special fondness for these prolific beetles, considering that the majority of them landed on US shores during the 50?s, 60?s and 70?s and most baby boomers have a Volkswagen story. The final year for the Beetle was 1980, of which all cars were all Cabriolets including 900 special edition versions.

Volkswagen produced 900 Special Edition Super Beetles. They all came in triple black with styled steel sport wheels and white wall tires. The interior features twin map pockets, dual rear ashtrays, full carpeting, a passenger-side visor vanity mirror, burled wood dashboard applique and this car was ordered radio delete. This car is 100% original right down the original owner?s manual, original tires and date coded wheels and up until recently was part of a private Volkswagen Museum collection. The engine was service in 2017 and runs flawlessly. Over the years these adorable Volkswagens have touched more lives than anything else on wheels with the exception of perhaps a bicycle. They are more popular now than ever before and have achieved true cult status. The ?Epilogue Edition? is fittingly painted in black and is must for any collector of German classics.

1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

Lot # 121 (Sale Order: 22 of 52)

1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

AUCTION ESTIMATE $ 30,000 ? $40,000

 • Amber Metallic with Palisander leatherette interior
 • Automatic
 • 15,000 Original miles
 • All original sheet metal
 • 1 professional repaint
 • Original owner manual with warranty card

The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was first introduced in 1955 as a stylish sports car in the VW line-up. Sharing the Beetle?s reliable running gear, it was economical to produce and resembled its famous race winning brethren the Porsche 356. VW contracted Ghia of Turin, Italy to design the car while the coachwork was hand built by the renowned German firm of Karmann. In 18 years, nearly half a million were manufactured including convertible models. Over the years, as with most long lived production models, subtle changes were made to update the outward and interior looks and appeal of the little Ghia?s, as well as running gear improvements. 1973 was the first year for the redesigned bumpers, marker lights and rear taillights. Sadly, the Karmann Ghia?s last year of production was 1974. This Ghia benefits from a fresh metallic paintjob, new leatherette upholstery and new wide whitewall tires. The car is in excellent condition with books and records; It has been driven only 15000 mile since new and has the optional sportamatic transmission. The Karmann Ghia is easily recognizable in virtually every town in America, and there is a strong appreciation amongst collectors alike.

1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

Lot # 122 (Sale Order: 23 of 52)

1989 Porsche 911 Speedster

AUCTION ESTIMATE $150,000 ? $175,000

-Black Exterior -Black Leather Sport Seats -Black Canvas Convertible Top

-13,000 Original Miles -All Owners Books

The 1989 Speedster was a single model year offering which not coincidentally was the 25 th anniversary of the 911. Only 2,104 of the new Speedster were built between January and September of 1989 and of that total only 823 were delivered to the US. The Speedster, option M503, was the last variant based on the outgoing K program chassis, that was to be replaced by the new Type 964. Porsche offered the new Speedster in both slant nosed and turbo body variants in Germany but only the turbo look was sold to the US customers. The 911 Speedster was distinctly shaped by Porsche?s styling department under the direction of Tony Lapine. It offered a cut down windshield reminiscent of the original that was more than 3 inches lower and raked 5 degrees flatter than that of the standard Cabriolet, a minimal single layer fabric top and a twin ?camel humps? fiberglass tonneau covered the area where the occasional rear seats would normally reside. The front quarter windows were eliminated and the new side windows were manually operated. Like the original 356 Speedster the new version was rarely seen with its top up.

Power is delivered by the 214hp 3164cc air cooled SOHC horizontally opposed six cylinder engine with DME Motronic/2 electronic fuel injection and a Type G50 Five-speed manual transaxle. Independent rear suspension and four wheel power disc brakes. This car is all original and has just over 13,000 original miles making this a true collector?s item.
