***Auction Highlight*** 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dollar O-121 Y Over Star R-4 50c Graded ms62+ details

Lot # 91 (Sale Order: 64 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** 1795 O-121 Y Over Star R-4 Flowing Hair Half Dollar 50c Graded ms62+ details By SEGS. Tompkins Die State 2/1. A scarce and always interesti...moreng 1795 variety, with the Y in LIBERTY punched over an extra star -- one of the classic engraver errors of the Flowing Hair type. This Uncirculated ms62 Details example is among the finest known in the variety, and one of less than 8 known in uncirculated condition. Struck from a fairly early die stage, the obverse shows heavy die clashing from the eagle's wing at Liberty's chin and neck. Three points of an errant star are visible beneath Y.Significant mint luster remains beneath attractive, rainbow toning on both the obverse and reverse. The strike is sharp on the eagle, where virtually all of the eagle's feathers are defined including much of the breast and leg plumage. Razor-sharp hair detail. A few light hairlines are the cause of the details designation. A high powered loupe is required to see them, so zero detraction from the wonderful eye appeal. A few light adjustment marks at the borders and across Liberty's hair require a lens for viewing. It is widely thought that about 3,500 examples still exist regardless of variety, but perhaps only about 35 of the survivors are Mint State. The acquisition of any Mint State Flowing Hair half dollar can be considered a significant numismatic achievement. Early half dollar aficionados will most certainly be competing vigorously for this superb prize. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

1863 US Fractional Currency 5c Third Issue fr-1239 Spencer M. Clark GRaded cu64 EPQ By PMG

Lot # 92 (Sale Order: 65 of 754)

1863 US Fractional Currency 5c Third Issue fr-1239 Spencer M. Clark GRaded cu64 EPQ By PMG. Spencer M. Clark was the first Superintendent of the National Currency ...moreBureau, today known as the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, from 1862 to 1868. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people starting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.

***Auction Highlight*** Lincoln Wheat cent 1c orig Brandt McDonalds roll, 1909-s end, VDB other end

Lot # 93 (Sale Order: 66 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** Lincoln Wheat cent 1c orig Brandt McDonalds roll, 1909-s end, VDB other end. Lincoln Wheat cent 1c original Shotgun Roll, 1909-s on one end...more, VDB reverse on the other. Actual roll pictured is the roll you will get. A great original bank shotgun roll with very tight ends. From the feedback we have been receiving, people are happy with these rolls, nearly half the roll seems to be teens, all the rolls have a few Indians, most of the rolls have some steel cents, and a lot of the wheaties are mintmarks. These shotgun rolls are all from a new consignee. They are all frrom one Estate. This particular Roll shows a 1909-s on one end and a VDB reverse on the other end.

1880/79-cc Rev '78 Morgan Dollar Vam 4 Top 100 TOP POP! $1 Graded ms66+ BY SEGS

Lot # 94 (Sale Order: 67 of 754)

1880/79-cc Rev '78 Vam 4 Top 100 TOP POP! Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms66+ BY SEGS. A Top 100 Variety. Struck from a leftover reverse die from 1878 that shows the fla...morettened breast feathers on the eagle, and an obverse leftover from 1879 with the 79 clearly showing. The Reverse of 1878 coins are usually found bagmarked, and a high-grade example such as this one is worthy of consideration. The surfaces are brilliant and show thick mint frost one would expect from a Carson City product. The luster is also unbroken by the abrasions usually found on this issue, atypical of a CC dollar. Fully struck. I wish you good Luck! A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin

Lot # 95 (Sale Order: 68 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** 1925-s California Near Top POP! Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms68 By SEGS. The 1925 California Diamond Jubilee Half Dollar is one of the co...morellector favorites amongst early commemorative coins. The issue was authorized to mark the 75th anniversary of California’s statehood and featured imagery recalling the famous gold rush. The obverse the coin features a kneeling figure of a “forty-niner” as he pans for gold. The reverse features an image of a grizzly bear, which comes from the state emblem of California. Both the obverse and reverse of the California Half Dollar were designed by sculptor Joseph Mora.Authorization was provided to strike up to 300,000 coins. Production took place at the San Francisco Mint, where 150,000 coins were produced. Distribution was handled by the San Francisco Citizens’ Committee with an issuance price of $1 per coin, which had become standard for commemorative half dollar issues. Coins which remained unsold were returned to the mint for melting, resulting in a net distribution of 86,594.The High Points of the Coin are the Bear's Shoulder and Leg and the Miner's Back, Shoulder and Shirtsleeve. ***Auction Highlight*** 1916-d Mercury Dime 10c Graded Select Unc By USCG (fc)

Lot # 102 (Sale Order: 73 of 754)

***Auction Highlight*** 1916-d Mercury Dime 10c Graded Select Unc By USCG. HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH - Up for auction is a coin that usually comes between ag and vg. ...more Up for auction is the legendary 1916-d Mercury Dime, but this time its in mint state ms62. At first glance this piece suggests a finer grade in terms of its overall appeal. The silvery surfaces are frosty, with cartwheel luster and a tinge of gold on each side. Under a high-power loupe, a few tiny areas of dark toning appear--on the obverse near the top rim and on the reverse tucked into some of the device crevices--but they are not readily visible otherwise. The horizontal bands are completely visible, but they are neither fully split nor totally rounded, the criteria for a Full Bands designation. This piece is nonetheless quite appealing and will fit well into a Mint State or high-grade circulated set also has a 45° CW Rotated die A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
