1942 Malaysia (Japanese WWII Occupation) 10 Cents Banknote P#?M3 Grades Select CU

Lot # 34 (Sale Order: 26 of 1881)

1942 Malaysia (Japanese WWII Occupation) 10 Cents Banknote P#?M3 Grades Select CU. Japanese invasion money, officially known as Southern Development Bank Notes (Ja...morepanese: ??????? Dai T?-A Sens? gunpy?, "Greater East Asia War military scrip"), was currency issued by the Japanese Military Authority as a replacement for local currency after the conquest of colonies and other states in World War II. Japan printed this currency for many countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, North Borneo, Sarawak, Burma, Brunei, and several Oceania territories controlled by Australia. Some Japanese invasion notes are actually counterfeits produced by the American Office of Strategic Services or the British Special Operations Executive, meant to flood and destabilize the economy in the occupied areas, sometimes also including propaganda printed on the notes themselves.

Lot # 43 (Sale Order: 31 of 1881)

1928D $2 Red Seal United States Note Grades vf++. This is the first “small size” two dollar bill issued by The U.S. In 1928 the size of paper money was changed to ...morethe size that we are familiar with today. There are eight different types of 1928 $2 bills. They are Series of 1928, Series of 1928A, 1928B, 1928C, 1928D, 1928E, 1928F, and 1928G. Series of 1928D $2 bills were printed in the later period between January 1934 and July 1944. These dates coincide with when Henry Morgenthau Jr. and WA Julian were in office together. Like all red seal two dollar legal tender notes, the series of 1928D $2 notes features Thomas Jefferson on the front and Monticello on the back.
