*HIGHLIGHT OF ENTIRE AUCTION* 1797 BB-71 B-3 Draped Bust Dollar $1 Graded xf40 By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 787 (Sale Order: 530 of 604)

***Auction Highlight*** 1797 BB-71 B-3 Draped Bust Dollar $1 Graded xf40 By SEGS. HIGHLIGHT OF THE AUCTION - An untoned example apart from the lightest golden-pink...more highlights around the periphery. Appreciable satin luster remnants and generally bold definition to the devices confirm this as a solidly graded EF. As one of the two relatively obtainable die marriages of the 1797 silver dollar, BB-71 is a favorite among type collectors seeking an example of the brief and challenging Draped Bust, Small Eagle design. BB Die State III. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

***Auction Highlight*** 1842-o Gold Liberty Quarter Eagle $2 1/2 Graded ms61 By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 788 (Sale Order: 531 of 604)

***Auction Highlight*** 1842-o Gold Liberty Quarter Eagle $2 1/2 Graded ms61 By SEGS. HIGHLIGHT - Clean surfaces from handling as the fields and Liberty's cheek sh...moreow no heavy marks. Lustrous too, as much as the New Orleans Mint could produce that year as this issue is notorious for its poor strikes, as seen here. Mintage of 19,800 pieces and perhaps a dozen or two can claim this grade level or finer. One of the condition rarities that is rarely encountered this well preserved. I have included 2 other ms61 examples to illustrate the strike issues that plagued this issue. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation

Lot # 789 (Sale Order: 532 of 604)

***Auction Highlight*** 1921 Missouri Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms63+ By SEGS. The Obverse Depicts Daniel Boone, even though he was best known for his exploits i...moren Kentucky, since he made his home in Missouri for the last quarter of his life. When examining a Missouri Centennial for wear, on the obverse, friction first shows on Boone's cheek and on the hair behind his ear and shoulder. On the reverse, rub is first evident on the arm of the frontiersman. Scarce and very rare commemorative.

1918 $1 National Currency "Flying Eagle" Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, IL Grades vg, very good

Lot # 796 (Sale Order: 535 of 604)

1918 $1 National Currency "Flying Eagle" Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, IL Grades vg, very good. There are three different years found on series of 1918 one dol...morelar bills.  Despite also saying 1914 and 1913, these are referred to by collectors as 1918 federal reserve bank notes.  Collectors have given this note the nickname of the “Flying Eagle.”  The back of the note shows why the bill received its nickname. Keep in mind that series of 1918 one dollar federal reserve bank notes were issued for 12 different banks. The artwork will all be the same though.  George Washington is on the left hand side of the bill.  There is a blue seal on the right hand side of the bill and the serial numbers are in blue ink.

With only 4,000 examples struck, the 1882 Liberty Head quarter eagle often d...moreisplays areas of prooflike reflectivity, as can be seen on this coin. The design elements are crisply rendered throughout, and the lustrous surfaces exhibit yellow-gold and pale greenish coloration. 1870's US Fractional Currency 15¢ Fourth Issue Fr-1267 Grades vf++

Lot # 810 (Sale Order: 548 of 604)

1870's US Fractional Currency 15¢ Fourth Issue Fr-1267 Grades vf++. Fractional or postage currency has a rich history. At the beginning of the Civil War people st...morearting hoarding coins for their precious metal content. Coins became difficult to find because of the hoarding. People started to try to use stamps instead of coins as a means of commerce. The government decided to help ease the hoarding issue by issuing “paper coins” also known as postage currency or fractional currency. Fractional currency was first issued on August 21, 1862 and they were last issued on February 15, 1876. Three cents, five cents, ten cents, twenty-five cents, and fifty cents notes were all issued. Fractional currency is physically smaller than other United States money. It also does not have a serial number.
