***Auction Highlight*** 1865 Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+ Unc RD By USCG (fc)

Lot # 122 (Sale Order: 85 of 613)

***Auction Highlight*** 1865 Indian Cent 1c Graded Gem+ Unc RD By USCG. Within 1 Point of the Finest known in Red. Delightful orange-apricot and pale pinkish-rose sur...morefaces retain full mint color that provides extraordinary eye appeal. Both sides are highly lustrous with a universally full strike from the dies. This second year bronze Indian cent issue has a mintage of 35,429,286 circulation strikes, a generous total that suggests that there was still a great need for new cents to rectify the coinage shortage in the East and Midwest created by the withdrawal of gold, silver and copper-nickel coins that began early in the Civil War. As an issue the 1865 is readily obtainable in Mint State, although with the quality and eye appeal offered here it is a condition rarity. As one of the finest examples known, in fact, this lovely coin is sure to have no difficulty finding its way into another impressive Indian cent set. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away Coin

***Auction Highlight*** 1915-s Panama Pacific Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms63 details By SEGS

Lot # 126 (Sale Order: 89 of 613)

***Auction Highlight*** 1915-s Panama Pacific Old Commem Half Dollar 50c Graded ms63 details By SEGS. Exceptionally Rare Commemorative. The Pan Pac was Minted Along with...more 4 Other Coins to Commemorate the Completion of the Panama Canal and Distributed at the Panama Pacific Exposition in San Francisco which also Celebrated the Renewal of San Francisco since the Great Fire. When Examining the Pan Pac Half Dollar, Note that there is a Problem with Pan-Pac Halves in its Strike: Weakness is often Evident on Columbia’s Head, Cap, Arm and Body, also on the Eagle's Breast Feathers and Claws. Occasionally, Coins are seen with a Rim Indentation Near the Periphery on Each Side; this is a Mint Caused Problem and Should Not Be Factored Into the Grade. When Grading Lightly Circulated Examples, Friction is First Evident on Columbia's Shoulder and on the Eagle's Breast.

***Auction Highlight*** 1898-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms67+ By SEGS (fc)

Lot # 129 (Sale Order: 92 of 613)

***Auction Highlight*** 1898-o Morgan Dollar $1 Graded ms67+ By SEGS. With ½ point of the Finest Known. In fact, neither SEGS or PCGS have ever graded one as ms68, onl...morey 2 coins from NGC have ever attained that grade. Our coin is Tied at ms67+ right behind these 3 examples. Among the finest known. A brilliant and smartly impressed beauty drenched in satiny mint luster. The history of the 1898-O Morgan dollar is similar to that of the more widely promoted 1903-O. From the year of striking nearly into the middle of the 20th century the 1898-O was a phantom among silver dollars, especially in Mint State. It is likely that much of the mintage was included among the 270,232,722 silver dollars destroyed in 1918 under provisions of the Pittman Act. The availability of the 1898-O in Mint State did not change until the silver dollar releases of the early 1960s. And change it did, in dramatic fashion. Thousands of 1898-O dollars, along with 1903-O, 1904-O, and other dates were released. The eventual number of 1,000-coin bags involved is unknown but obviously substantial given the fact that the 1898-O is among the most plentiful Morgan dollars in Mint State. As one of the finest known, this MS-67+ is an impressive condition rarity equally well suited for a high grade type set or an advanced Morgan dollar collection. ***Auction Highlight*** 1884-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded BU+ By USCG (fc)

Lot # 137 (Sale Order: 100 of 613)

***Auction Highlight*** 1884-s Morgan Dollar $1 Graded BU+ By USCG. Scarce and highly coveted Mint State preservation for the conditionally challenging 1884-S Morgan doll...morear. This is a highly lustrous, brilliant-white example with swirling cartwheel visual effects to both sides. The 1884-S is one of several issues in this series that are readily obtainable in circulated condition but develop into significant condition rarities in Mint State. It is likely that the vast majority of the 3,200,000-piece mintage was placed into circulation during the final years of the 19th century through the early decades of the 20th century. Countless others may have been melted under the terms of the 1918 Pittman Act, although some Uncirculated coins survived in storage in both the San Francisco Mint and at the Treasury Department in Washington, D.C. Quantities in both locations were limited, however, and it appears that mostly individual examples were paid out at widely spaced intervals from the 1920s through the 1950s. Q. David Bowers (1993) does speak of a few bags emerging from storage in the San Francisco Mint during the 1950s, but the number of Mint State 1884-S dollars from all sources is in no way sufficient to meet current market demand for this popular and widely collected series.
