**Austrian Model 1898 Rast-Gasser Revolver

Lot # 1 (Sale Order: 1 of 262)      

8mm Gasser caliber, 4.75" barrel, S/N 73106.  Blued finish with checkered grips.  Blade front sight with notch rear sight.  Eight-shot cylinder.  Barrel, frame, and cylinder marked with serial number.  Topstrap shows "W.n." Austrian acceptance markings along with 1916 acceptance date.  Serial number shows "ML" prefix.

The last revolver to bear the Gasser name, the Model 1898 revolver was adopted by the Austro-Hungarian Army to arm its commissioned and non-commissioned officers.  While made obsolete by the mass introduction of automatic pistols, the Model 1898 served throughout the First World War with approximately 200,000 built.

**Good condition overall.  Nearly all of the blued finish has been worn away with some old worn pitting and oxidation.  Grip is in fair condition with some later-applied varnish.  Action is tight with a good bore showing visible rifling.**

**Austro-Hungarian FEG Frommer Stop 12M Pistol

Lot # 2 (Sale Order: 2 of 262)      

7.65mm caliber, 4" barrel, S/N 217167.  Blued finish with grooved wood grips.  Straw finish on hammer.  Slide marked on left side "FEGYVERGYAR-BUDAPEST*FROMMER -PAT.STOP CAL.7.65mm(.32)".  Right side of trigger guard marked with Austro-Hungarian crest indicating Army issue along with 1918 production date.

The FEG Frommer Stop, patented by Rudolf Frommer was adopted by the Royal Hungarian Army in 1912.

**Good condition overall.  Most of the original finish remaining with some wear around sharp edges and working parts.  Visible straw color remaining on hammer.  Grips show no major cracks or splits.  Tight action with a bright bore. A good example of this hard to find piece of WW1 Austrian military equipment.**

Austro-Hungarian Mannlicher 1888 Rifle

Lot # 3 (Sale Order: 3 of 262)      

8x50mmR caliber, 30" barrel, S/N 1246E.  Reblued finish will full length military stock.  Blade front sight with "5-30" marked quadrant rear sight.  Volley sights intact.  Receiver marked with "F.G./G.Y." proofs indicating manufacture in Budapest.  Receiver marked with 1893 Steyr acceptance stamp.  Stock shows number "9314A", and "722" along with "AA/[broad arrow]".  Buttplate shows "79 R/3793" regimental markings.

**Good condition as is.  Some wear and thinning of reblued finish over old pitting.  Some marks and blemishes to stock consistent with age and use of surplus arms.  Action is tight and functional with a moderately dark bore showing edges to rifling.**

Austrian Merit Cross, 4th Class in Original Box by Wilhelm Kunz

2" x 4".  Red textile ribbon in Austrian style.  Hallmarked silver hanging ring with Austro-Hungarian crown and red enamel cross.  Verso shows 1849.  Hanging ring shows "WILM. KUNZ WIEN V.".  Comes in period box by V. Mayers and Son with 1908 date.

**Fine condition overall.  Some darkening to ribbon.  Some minor tarnishing to silver with all enamel intact.**

**German 1906 DWM Second Issue Naval Luger Pistol

Lot # 6 (Sale Order: 6 of 262)      

9MM caliber, 6" barrel, S/N 5691a.  Blued finish with checkered walnut grips and straw-colored small parts.  Dovetailed front sight with two-position rear sight.  Magazine mismatched.  Toggle marked "DWM".  Correct naval proofs throughout.  Bottom of barrel marked "GERMANY".  Rear of grip below safety shows "W.W./3652".  Safety lever altered from earlier "low" position to later "high" position, with earlier safety marking removed via milling machine.

Produced for the "Kaiseriche Marine" (Navy), the 1904/06 naval luger had a total production of approximately 12,000 units.  This particular pistol was issued to the Wilhelmshaven dockyards.

**Good condition overall.  Most of the original blued finish remains with some scattered old pitting.  Some very minor straw finish remaining on small parts.  Grips are in very good condition with no major cracks or splits.  Bore is mostly bright with visible rifling.**

**German F.L. Selbstlader "Langenhan" Pistol

Lot # 7 (Sale Order: 7 of 262)      

7.65 caliber, 4" barrel, S/N 51933.  Blue finish with logo hard rubber grips.  Right side of slide shows two-line patent markings with proof marks throughout.  Left side of frame shows German military acceptance stamp.

Over 55.000 Langenhan pistols were produced between 1914-1917, with most pieces privately purchased by German officers.  The German Army began to issue Langenhan pistols as a standard sidearm in 1915.  After the war, they were often carried by Police and other state agencies under the Weimar Republic.

**This pistol retains most of the rust blue finish just fading to a plum.  Wear to the high edges.  Bore is very good, mechanically very good. **

**German Artillery Luger with Matching Stock

9mm caliber, 8" barrel, S/N 4654.  Stock has matching numbers, and the pistol is matching throughout.  Blued finish with some parts finish in a straw color. Marked on the top of the frame "1916", with DWM on the toggle. Tangent rear sight.  Original artillery holster. 

**Pistol retains most of the original blue finish.  Some wear ot the high edges.  Trigger, locking bolt and safety still retain some of the original straw colors.  Grips are very good to excellent. Bore is bright and shiny.  Still retains the original cleaning rod and takedown tool.  Mechanically excellent.**

**Unit-Marked German/Turkish G88 Rifle

Lot # 12 (Sale Order: 11 of 262)      

7.92mm caliber, 29" barrel, S/N 2405h (Barrel marked 7833b).  Blade front sight with ladder rear sight.  Receiver shows original German proof marks and spitzer "S" proof along with 1890 date and Amberg production stamp.  German markings have been stamped over with Turkish crescent and "519" in Ottoman script.  First barrel band shows German unit markings of the 18th Reserve Regiment, 8th Company.  Middle band shows defaced unit markings of 1st Grenadier Guards Reserve Regiment, 11th Company.

Developed by the German Army's Rifle Testing Commission, the Gewehr 88 "reichsgewehr" was created in response to German experiences in the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871).  Originally firing a 8mm round-nosed bullet, the design was changed in 1905 to fire a new, higher velocity "spitzer" round.  These rifles were used extensively in the first years of the First World War, when they were replaced by increased production of the venerable Gewehr 98.  Many of these older rifles were sold to the Ottoman Empire, which was facing a weapons shortage.

**Good condition overall.  Some wear to finish and stock consistent with age and use.  Action is smooth and operational with a fair bore showing some grime.**

**Fair condition.  Some scattered darkening and oxidation to plate with some wear to grips.  Grip scales fight tight.  Some wear to leather which has become somewhat fragile, including a tear at button closure.**

Prussian Regimental Saber (6th Niedersachsen Artillery)

32.75" blade, 1" wide at forte.  German-style "Blucher" guard with wire-wrapped leather grip.  Blade etched with martial themes, artillery train and "Niedersachs Feld.Artill.Regt. No 46.".  Hilt marked with "46.A.2.56". 

Originally garrisoned in Wolfenbuttle, Celle, the 46th Lower Saxon Field Artillery Regiment was assigned to the X Army Corps, 2nd Army during the First World War.  It formed part of the right flank of the forces for the Schlieffen Plan during the August 1914 offensive.  

**Good condition overall.  Some minor wear and staining to blade.  Wire wrap missing from grip.  No scabbard.**

Tombak construction with German silver fittings.  Rounded chinscales with M91 posts.  Painted imperial and state cockades.  Correct Garde-Kurassier front plate with removable eagle.  Rear visor marked with "G.K. R.1.E." unit marking indicating use by the 1st Squadron.  Twelve-finger integral liner/sweatband.  Includes spike for non-parade usage.

**Very good condition.  Tombak has some oxidation and markings but retains an attractive luster.  Fittings in good condition as well.  Some dents to base of eagle from over-tightening of screw. Some minor separation of seams to eagle.  Liner somewhat dry and aged but otherwise in stable condition.  A good example of this very desirable helmet.**

**Good condition overall.  Some minor cracking of leather finish with front visor slightly loose.  Some dulling of fittings present with ball and base showing some wear to gilt finish.  Sweatband and skullcap in good condition.  One star brad missing.  Possibly a composite piece.**

Prussian Kurassier Officer's Model 1889/99 Metalhelme

Steel construction with brass trim and velvet-lined rear skirt.  Squared brim with leather lining.  Integral sweatband with skullcap.  Cloverleaf-type spike base with rounded studs.  Convex rounded chin scales with cloverleaf studs over large Imperial and Prussian cockades.  Sweatband show personalized markings, appearing to read "KINDER.SB" and "1916".  Rear of skirt stamped "545", underside of brim stamped "WUNDERLICH".

**Good condition overall.  Some light oxidation and wear to finish with some dulling of brass. Spike may be a replacement.  Lining and sweatband in good condition.  One attachment screw missing from front plate.**
