NICE 8" x 7" Iroquoian Mohawk Pottery Vessel, Found in Warren, Herkimer Co., New York, Restored

Lot # 444 (Sale Order: 444 of 513)

NICE 8" x 7" Iroquoian Mohawk Pottery Vessel, Found in Warren, Herkimer Co., New York, Restored NICE 8" x 7" Iroquoian Mohawk Pottery Vessel, Found in Warren, Herkimer Co., New York, Restored. This piece does have restoration to portions of the rim/body junction, as well as the parts of the body and bottom of the pottery vessel. For the most part it is pretty easily seen. There is a heavy amount of "overlay" restoration in which the restoration material extends past the actual restoration. For example, the majority of the inside has a coating to assist with stabilization (can be seen where there was small amount of re-cracking of pieces after the restoration on the rim). This piece is overall well made and a great example! No shipping on this due to its frail nature. Ex: David Summers Collection of New York. Ex: Bineac Collection. Catalog # 243
