Description

Why did Samuel Colt produce only pistols and Oliver Winchester only rifles? The sacred lore of firearms legend holds that these two giants of the Industrial Revolution, after a tentative foray into each other’s territory, sat down and forged a “gentleman’s agreement” that there would be no further incursions.
This Colt & Winchester auction features over 140 firearms for collectors and arms enthusiast! Also includes rare ammunition and other collector items.
This auction will be online and live on Saturday March 27th. Preview will begins at 10am, auction to commence at 12 noon EST.

1887 First Year Winchester 1887 12 Gauge Lever Action Shotgun

Lot # 51 (Sale Order: 51 of 200)      

Serial #2436. This John Browning design was the first successful repeating arms shotgun. This breech-loading, rolling block lever-action features a 30" rolled fluid steel barrel chambered for 12 gauges 2-5/8" black powder shells. Another unique feature is an elegant WRA Co. monogram engraved on the left side of the receiver frame. English pistol grip Hardwood stock with checkered steel buttplate. Standard Markings under the tang are Crisp and Clear! This beautiful historical shotgun appears to be in great condition for 134 years young! Does show a few character dings in the wood stock and fading to the steel finish, but this shotgun has been well kept and oiled from a highly particular collector.

1880 Winchester Yellowboy model 1866 .44 RF Lever Action Sporting Rifle

Serial #152369. "The first rifle to bear the Winchester Name". The first firearm model manufactured under the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. This is the one Every Winchester collector must have! This Yellowboy features a 24" round barrel, and the iconic bronze receiver that gives it its nickname. Hardwood crescent stock with Steel buttplace and brass latch for storing field cleaning kit (not included). Rear adjustable buckhorn sights, fixed front blade sight. Serial number is stamped in italic script on the lower tang. A few character dings in the wood stock but otherwise this rifle appears to be in excellent condition for its young age!

1902 Winchester model 1894 .38-55 Extra Lightweight Lever Action Sporting Rifle

Serial #139788. One of the most famous hunting rifles of all time. This iconic lever action rifle features a 26" round barrel, full length magazine, wood crescent stock, wood foregrip, metal buttplate, rear adjustable buckhorn sight, and fixed front blade sight. Receiver appears to be case hardened. Standard markings are crips and clear. Stock and foregrip look to be near perfect. This rifle does show signs of use, but still in excellent condition for its age. This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.

This classic rifle features a 24" round barrel with full length magazine tube, hardwood crescent stock with metal buttplate, fixed front blade sight, and adjustable buckhorn rear sight. Pop-up rear Peep sight mounted on the tang. Standard markings are crisp and clear, with the exception of the caliber on the barrel being slightly worn. Serial number under the tang is written in italic script. This rifle does show wear in the finish but still has a good bit of blueing left. This historic piece is in great condition for its young age! It has been well kept and oiled from a highly particular collector.

Serial #29616. This Antique was Winchester's answer to a more powerful rifle than the 1873 in a repeating firearm. This second variation 1876 features a sliding dust cover, 28" round barrel, crescent wood stock with steel buttplate and field kit storage (not included). Wood foregrip, full length magazine tube, rear adjustable buckhorn sight and fixed front blade sight. Brass trap door is stamped in italics "45-60". Standard markings are clear although a little bit worn. This rifle does show some character dings in the wood but otherwise appears to be in great condition for its young age! It has been well kept and oiled from a highly particular collector.

This rifle features a 24" blued Octagon barrel, blued full length magazine tube. Crescent Walnut wood stock and foregrip, Buckhorn rear sight, and fixed blade front sight. Clear and crisp markings. A few minor dings in the stock but otherwise this rifle appears to be in excellent condition for its young age. This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.

1908 Winchester model 1886 RARE .33 WCF Lever Action Takedown Rifle

Serial #145197. This John Browning rifle was originally designed for use with black powder, the action was strong enough to make the jump to smokeless powder with only minor modifications, and was subsequently chambered in the smokeless .33 WCF cartridge as you see here. With the introduction of the Winchester Model 1886 the world of lever actions was changed forever. No previous lever action ever handled as well. No previous lever was as strong. No other lever action ever offered chamberings in such powerful cartridges. This Take Down version allows the owner to quickly break down the rifle into two components making it easy to store and carry. This rifle features a 24" round blued barrel, half magazine tube, straight wood stock with checkered steel buttplate, rear adjustable notch sight, and side adjustable half moon front sight. Standar markings are crisp and clear. This rifle appears to be in excellent condition for its young age! This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.
