Description

Why did Samuel Colt produce only pistols and Oliver Winchester only rifles? The sacred lore of firearms legend holds that these two giants of the Industrial Revolution, after a tentative foray into each other’s territory, sat down and forged a “gentleman’s agreement” that there would be no further incursions.
This Colt & Winchester auction features over 140 firearms for collectors and arms enthusiast! Also includes rare ammunition and other collector items.
This auction will be online and live on Saturday March 27th. Preview will begins at 10am, auction to commence at 12 noon EST.

1954 Winchester model 71 Special Deluxe .348 WCF Lever Action Sporting Rifle

Lot # 76 (Sale Order: 76 of 200)      

Serial #40710. This Special Deluxe model 71 sporting rifle was designed as the replacement for the model 1886 rifle. It is similar in appearance to the 1886 with some internal parts strengthened to handle the powerful 348 cartridge. This rifle features a short tang, hooded ramp front sight, and adjustable rear Buckhorn sights. Standard barrel markings are crisp and clear with the Winchester oval proof mark on top of the receiver and barrel at the breech. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver, and does show some fading. What makes this a Special Deluxe; straight grain checkered walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a steel checkered buttplate, hard rubber Winchester logo grip cap, and quick release sling swivel loops factory installed. This rifle does show some minor wear in the finish but still in the 85% range. This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.

1952 Winchester model 64 .30-30 WIN Lever Action Rifle

Lot # 77 (Sale Order: 77 of 200)      

Serial #1879631. This "kissing-cousin" version of the popular 94 features features a 24" blued round barrel, ramp front sight (missing hood), and adjustable rear Buckhorn sights. Standard barrel markings are crisp and clear with the Winchester oval proof mark on top of the receiver and barrel at the breech. The serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver, and does show some fading. Walnut wood forearm and pistol grip stock with a steel checkered buttplate. This rifle does show some minor wear in the finish but still in the 85% range. This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.

1904 Winchester model 1894 .30 WCF Lever Action Sporting Rifle

Serial #234419. One of the most famous cowboy toting rifles of all time, turned competitive shooter. This iconic lever action rifle features a 26" Octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, crescent wood stock with steel buttplate, wood foregrip, and has been modernized with fiber optic sights for competitive shooting. Standard markings are crisp and clear. This rifle does show some wear in the receiver finish, and some dings and scuffs in the stock but still in great condition for its age. This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.

1902 Winchester model 1892 .25-20 WCF Lever Action Sporting Rifle

Serial #185724. This John Browning design was first developed to replace the larger frame 1886 in pistol caliber rounds. This particular rifle is calibered for the .25-20 WCF. This rifle features a 24" blued round barrel, blued full length magazine tube. Crescent Walnut wood stock and foregrip, Marbles adjustable rear sight, and fixed blade front sight. Clear and crisp markings. A few minor older dings in the barrel but otherwise this rifle appears to be in excellent condition for its young age. This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.

1891 Winchester model 1886 .45-70 WCF Buffalo Caliber Lever Action Sporting Rifle

Serial #59129. This John Browning rifle was originally designed for use with black powder, the action was strong enough to make the jump to smokeless powder with only minor modifications, and was subsequently chambered for long range big game shooting. With the introduction of the Winchester Model 1886 the world of lever actions was changed forever. No previous lever action ever handled as well. No previous lever was as strong. No other lever action ever offered chamberings in such powerful cartridges like this .45-70. This rifle features a 26" Octagon barrel, crescent hardwood stock with steel buttplate, wood foregrip, adjustable slide rear notch sight, fixed front blade sight, and full length magazine tube. Standard markings on barrel are crisp and clear except for the caliber stamp is faded. Serial number is stamped on bottom of tang in italic letters. This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.

This rifle features a carbine 20" blued round barrel with barrel band before sight, blued full length magazine tube. Walnut wood stock and foregrip with steel buttplate, Williams rear adjustable peep sight, and fixed front ramp sight. Original rear sight not included. Likely an original saddle ring carbine, but has been replaced with the Williams sight. Clear and crisp markings throughout. This rifle appears to be in excellent condition for its young age! This firearm has been well kept and maintained by a veteran collector.
