Blade front sight with elevation adjustable rear sight. Side loading receiver / second model with serial number 50 found on both upper and lower tangs. CONDITION, Good with strong bore with bright lands and grooves. Finish has toned to patina with blue remaining in protected areas. The stocks are good with some material loss at toe from a chip. High polish blue finish with integral ramped blade front sight with elevation adjustable rear sporting sight. Takedown with 1/2 magazine. Varnished Americal walnut stock with shotgun pattern steel butt plate. This rifle is further equipped with a Marbles folding tang sight. The very limited production makes these dandy little sporting rifles a rather scarce item. CONDITION, Very good with barrel retaining over 80% bright factory blue finish , the receiver retains 60% blue with losses at underside. The bore is bright and sharp. The action operates properly. SERIAL NUMBER 408959 BARREL 22" CALIBER 30-06 MANUFACTURED 1920.The Model 1895 Winchester Lever action , made famous by Teddy Roosevelt was the last of the great lever action rifles developed. Saddle Ring Carbines represent but a small fraction of the production and being found in the desired 30-06 Springfield cartridge is even harder. Blue finish with 5 round internal magazine. Blade front sight with slide adjustable ladder type rear sight. Oil finished American walnut stocks with 1 forearm retaining band and the only lever action with a handguard. Steel carbine butt plate with trap for cleaning rods. Rifle is factory fitted with Saddle Ring and stud on left side of receiver. Receiver ring is marked "30 GOV'T O6" Tang is marked " MODEL 95 WINCHESTER TRADEMARK REG, US PAT OFF & FRN" Left side of frame has standard 2 line Winchester Hartford address. CONDITION, Very good with barrel retaining over 90% blue finish with bright sharp bore. The receiver has flaked and toned to patina w/ blue in protected areas. Manufactured by Winchester with polished blue finished receiver, Rapid taper 24" barrel with integral front sight ramp and sporting blade with elevation adjustable rear sight. Full magazine. Case colored hammer and lever. Varnished American walnut stocks with crescent butt plate and solid frame. 2 line Winchester barrel address with chamber marked "33W.C.F." Barrel and chamber have Winchester proofs. Upper tang marked " MODEL 1886 WINCHESTER TRADE MARK" Lower tang has serial number to rear of lever. CONDITION, Very fine with barrel and magazine retaining over 80% factory blue finish with balance toned to plum. The receiver retains 75% bright blue finish with losses on underside from period use. The hammer and lever retain 25% vivid case colors with balances toned to patina and silver. The varnished 2 piece stocks are very fine and retain over 80% varnish with some wear on underside of forearm and at wrist from period of use. SERIAL NUMBER 571394 BARREL 30" CALIBER 44 WCF / 44-40 MANUFACTURED 1903. Manufactured by Winchester and sold extensively in South Americas well as Europe. Long Musket pattern round barrel with post front sight to be used as bayonet lug and military pattern slide adjustable rear sight graduated to 800 yards. 27" magazine. Oil finished American walnut stocks with 3 forarm retaining bands and steel military musket type butt plate with trap for cleaning rods, Blue finished with exception of case colored hammer and lever and brass cartridge elevator marked "44 CAL".The Winchester Model 73 Musket was initially developed for US Military trials but did not receiver any contracts. The majority of 73 Muskets went to South America and only represented 5% of the Winchester 1873 production. Fitted with a bright steel socket bayonet these were a very impressive rifle. Most saw extensive use in the humid South American climate and few survived in fine condition. CONDITION. Very good retaining over 80% thinning blue mixed with plum patina. The hammer and lever retain small amounts of case colors with balance toned to plum. The oil finished stocks are very fine with period of use impressions and light scratches but remain excellent. The bore is very fine and bright. The action operates properly and locks solidly. The bayonet is extremely fine and remains bright with some light spotting. TDW / C&R

SERIAL NUMBER 29151 BARREL 30" CALIBER 44-40 (44WCF) MANUFACTURED 1878. Desired 1st model Winchester 1873 with thumbprint dust cover and 30 inch octagon barrel. Documented with Winchester Factory records letter dated May16, 2023. Letter indicates that Rifle number 29151 as a rifle , Octagon barrel, Plain trigger and shipped June, 19 1878. Rifle has oil finished stocks with crescent butttplate , 2 tone blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight. CONDITION, Very good as found with exterior having toned to a mellow patina. The bore has visible rifling with darkness in lands and grooves. The wood stocks remain full sized with an older repair in the forearm and some period bruises and impressions. The action operates properly. The octagon barrel has some pitting on top at the midway point and again about 3 inches from the muzzle. A nice honest 1st Model 1873 Winchester w/ factory letter. SERIAL NUMBER 17177 BARREL 34" CALIBER 45-2 4/10 ( 45-100-500) MANUFACTURED 1878-81. Rare and desired Sharps Borchardt Long Range with 34" round barrel with windage adjustable Long Range globe front sight. Barrel marked "OLD RELIABLE" in script and "SHARPS RIFLE CO. BRIDGEPORT CONN." with serial number 17177 on underside beneath forearm. Nickel finished receiver with serial number 17177 forward of trigger and having Gutta Percha panels on sides of receiver. Varnished highly figured checkered pistol grip stock with gutta percha grip cap and nickel finished swiss butt with trap fro cleaning components. Matching forearm is checkered to match with ebony tip and retained by a single wedge. Vernier tang sight is graduated to from 0 to 3" and is 5" inches from screw to top. A small spliced inlay in evident at heel and is believe to have been a heel mounted sight at a previous period. CONDITION, Very fine with brilliant bright bore with sharp rifling. Barrel retains over 85% blue with some areas of thinning. The receiver retains 95% bright nickel finish with excellent gutta percha side plates. The stocks are excellent with moderate checkering wear on forearm and has some light period of use impressions and bruises. The swiss butt plate has shadows of case colors. The action operates properly and locks solidly. One the finest Borchardt rifles we have ever examine in one of the rarest of calibers. ANTIQUE TDW

SUPERB 1897 WINCHESTER DOUBLE W CARTRIDGE BOARD

The most desired of all Winchester and western advertising is the iconic Winchester 1897 cartridge board with its A.B Frost vignettes and it gold overlay borders and varnished white oak frame. Few of these survived the last 125 years of display and collecting due to their fragile nature. Winchester double "W" cartridge board in white oak frame with gilt border around backboard. Backboard is painted with "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO" in red at top. Bottom of board is painted in red "NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.". "NEW YORK SAN FRANCISCO" are below Connecticut address. Board has pistol and rifle cartridges displayed in an array in the shape of a double "W". Center of board shows a vignette by A.B. Frost of 2 hunters in the woods with a dead bear. Vignette says "REPEATING RIFLES" on one side and "AMMUNITION" on other side in a ribbon. Cartridges are all labeled. Left "V " of W shows painting of mallard duck in flight by A.B. Frost. Right "V" of W shows moose head painted. Center vignette has pistol cartridges over top border. Bottom of "W" has grooved bullets and patched bullets. Paper shot shell cartridges are mounted on left side; brass shot shell cartridges are on right side. Primers are mounted on all points of double "W"s and below painting of duck and moose. CONDITION, Outstanding with only a few minor imperfections and wrinkles to the board itself. All cartridges are original and no restoration or cleaning has been performed. The Colt Model 1878 Large frame double action with the birds head grip with 2 piece checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt monogram. 4" short barrel with blade front sight and 2 line address. 6 shot flued cylinder chambered for 45 Colt. High polish blue finished frame with small Rampant Colt in circle on left side and peacock blue finished hammer and trigger. Left side of trigger guard has the factory violent proof in triangle. An estimated 10,000 Sharps carbines & rifles were converted to the new 50-70 Gov't metallic cartridge. These were issued extensively to US Troopers who served in the West during the Indian wars and southern border conflicts. Many of these carbines were modified for Hunting and Ranch use as well. Blue finished barrel with 3 groove rifled bore. Case colored receiver with saddle ring bar and ring. Oil finished 2 piece stocks with case colored butt plate and barrel band. 2 very crisp US inspection cartouches on left side of butt. Blade front sight with Sharps folding ladder pattern carbine rear sight. Profusely engraved percussion lock with serpentine hammer, engraved with fine scrolls and oak leaf garnish with a gold inlaid "MASCHEK" monogram with gold band above & below. Barrel has 2 gold and 1 platinum band at breech with "JOS MASCHEK IN GABEL" inlaid in gold wire on top flat of barrel. Tang of breech is finely engraved with tight scrolls and diminutive game scene vignette of running stag with gold banded borders. Left side of carbine has stocking plate with matching fine engraved scrolls with matching oak leaf foliate and gold inlaid "IN GABEL" with gold border above & below. Varnished highly figured walnut stock is masterfully carved with the most ornate basket weave pattern checkering at wrist as well as having a raised cheek rest with a ornate feather relief carved at rear of rest. Elaborate trigger guard is engraved with a small vignette of Jaeger with rifle is forested background. A small silver name plate is inset in the forearm with the initials "E.M." Jaeger rifle is produced by Joseph Maschek who produced fine arms in Gabel , Bohemia region in the 1840's Later to become the Czech republic. Rifle is housed in a period wooden travel case with stunning American Flask Co, powder flask, mechanical powder measure, Picket bullet mold , mechanical false starter and T-handle nipple wrench. These petite Buggy type target rifles were all the rage of wealthy sportsman in the 1850's North-East. CONDITION, Extremely fine with fine bright bore with outstanding rifling. Fully functional lock with very light trigger that needs adjustment to stay on full cock. Stock is wonderful with all varnish remaining and only light period of use impressions. The barrel has toned to a plumish patina but remains very fine. The mold and accesories are attic condition and not cleaned but very fine. The false muzzle is operational and remains tight. The travel case has exterior wear and has done its job in protecting this rifle for the past 170 years. ANTIQUE TDW

Produced in New England with machined cast brass box lock action with percussion ignition with browned octagon barrel with muzzle reduced to accommodate false muzzle. Petite globe front sight with slide adjustable extended tang / rear sight. Detachable nickel finished iron shoulder stock. A wonderful example of the Mid-1850's target shooting and Sportsman's era. CONDITION, Extremely fine with fine bright rifled .36 caliber bore. Action operates properly. The barrel retains most all of its browned finish. The Brass receiver is a wonderful uncleaned mustard patina. The burl walnut grips are very fine with no distress. The detachable nickel finished / iron stock is good with some finish flaking and a contemporary replaced attaching screw. ANTIQUE TDW
