SERIAL 111523. BARREL 3 1/8". CALIBER 22. Made 1860-68. Features blued octagon barrel, silver plated frame, square butt rosewood grips, spur trigger, 7-shot. Comes in the desireable gutta percha factory case with image of this gun on lid. Condition. Barrel retains approximately 30% bright blue, cylinder about 65%. Frame retains 90% of the silver. Grips are excellent. Bore is sharp. Hammer will not stay cocked but cylinder rotates correctly. Case has crack on base, lid is excellent. Lining is excellent. ANTIQUE DB

NICKEL GOLD SMITH & WESSON BABY RUSSIAN REVOLVER

SERIAL 2397. BARREL 3 1/4". CALIBER 38 S&W. MADE 1876-77 ONLY. Very early example that features a nickel plated finish, gold wash cylinder, case color hammer with pearl grips. Very seldom seen with gold wash cylinder. The wash was very fragile. Condition. Cylinder retains at least 90% of the gold wash with a few age freckles. The nickel finish remains a solid 98% and the pearl grips are excellent and fit perfectly tight. Fine working action. Bore is bright. Handsome special finish Baby Russian. ANTIQUE DB

US COLT SAA REVOLVER WITH HOLSTER - RAC INSPECTED

Lot # 426 (Sale Order: 430 of 656)      

SERIAL 140058. BARREL 7.5". CALIBER 45 COLT. MADE 1891. There are matching numbers found on barrel, frame, back strap and trigger guard. The cylinder is 0202 and is RAC inspected as is the barrel and frame. Trigger guard has K inspector stamp. The butt is stamped B24 with would be a company number for militia. Grips are one piece walnut with no visible cartouche. Butt has a period lanyard ring. The frame has the US stamp with two line patent dates. Barrel has one line address. The US issue holster was fitted for either the Colt or Schofield revolver. The leather belt has US buckle. The holster was period decorated in Indian fashion with two sized brass studs which was most definitely against army regulations. The rig has some usual age cracking but is still supple. Condition. No original finish present and is now a soft gun metal gray patina. Legends are all sharp. Action functions but half cock does not lock up. Bore is excellent. Grips are very good. ANTIQUE DB

Cylinder has one outer wall where gun sat that has about 2/3 of the blue, otherwise, gun is a solid 90% with few age freckles and minor high edge wear. Grips are near mint . Generous case colors. ANTIQUE COLT SAA REVOLVER

SERIAL 81251. BARREL 4 3/4". CALIBER .44-40. MADE IN 1882. A basic no finish early single action. The gutta percha grips are well worn but they are not the correct eagles. The ejector rod head and pin are correct era but have to much finish so were probably replaced. The block letter Colt Frontier Six Shooter on barrel is weak but readable. The same can be said for the correct two line barrel address as well as the two line patent dates on frame. The action functions and locks up well but the half cock for loading is worn. Bore is well defined but frosted with some abrasions. All matching numbers. ANTIQUE DB

SERIAL 4274. BARREL 6.5". CALIBER 38RF. Factory conversion of standard Navy size Remington to fire the self contained .38 RF cartridge circa early 1870's. These early conversions were really the first big bore cartridge guns to head west. Features an octagon barrel, brass trigger guard, walnut grips. Condition. Butter smooth patina with strong legends. Brass has toned. Grips are excellent. Action works fine double action only. Bore is strong with some minor abrasion. Very clean example of this factory conversion. ANTIQUE DB

A very limited production of less than 2500 revolver with 2 & 4" barrels with 6 shot fluted cylinders and finished in blue with checkered walnut grips with Colt medallions. A modified Official Police revolvers with round butt. Barrel marked "COLT MARSHALL .38 CTG" Serial numbered in the Official Police range with the addition of the "M" suffix and the round butt frame. CONDITION, Very fine with 99% blue finish with trace of a cylinder turn line and bright bore and chambers. Grips are excellent and action operates properly. C&R TDW

Serial numbered on underside of barrel, frame under grips and both grips numbered in pencil. Case color hammer and brass trigger guard. US inspected grips with sub-inspections on frame , barrel and cylinder. One of the favored revolvers of the civil war in fine condition. CONDITION, Very fine with over 80% bright blue remaining on revolver with period of use edge wear. Bore and chambers are every good and grips are very fine with crisp markings. Full octagon barrel with 5 shot non-fluted cylinder with Tranter patented loading lever. Checkered and varnished one piece walnut grip with trap for percussion caps in butt. Belgian proofs on cylinder . Modestly engraved on sides of frame and finished in a brilliant blue finish. Cased with dual cavity serial number matching mold, nipple wrench and turn screw. Powder measure and flask with wiping rod and cleaning jag. Case id of burl walnut with fine brass hardware. These revolvers saw long use with the British empire through the US civil war and through the Crimean conflict. CONDITION, Very fine with over 90% bright blue finish with excellent crisply checkered grips. Action operates smoothly and properly. Bore and chambers are bright. The accesories are good with the turn screw having a damaged and replaced handle and the flask being a period of use replacement. The case is very fine. Fabulous pair of flintlock officers pistols with part octagon to round barrels with one piece oil finished checkered stocks with swivel loading rods. Ornate engraved brass trigger guard with 2 brass rod pipes. Top flat of barrel marked "H, NOCK LONDON" , Locks are marked in identical fashion. Pistols are cased with all accesories including Dixon marked bag flask, W. Hawksley ebony handled turn screw, non-makers marked 18 bore (.635 dia) iron mold cleaning rod and jags with ball puller. Case id partitioned with green wool lining and is oil finished walnut with brass hardware but is missing key. CONDITION, Extremely fine with fine bright bores and proper functioning locks and mechanisms. The walnut stocks are very fine , full sized with sharp checkering and period of use impressions and bruises. The iron barrels remain bright with a contemporary polish. All accesories are very fine. Nickel finished with varnished, checkered one piece walnut grip with nickel finished butt cap and lanyard swivel. Retailer marked on top strap " BLISSETT & SON LIVERPOOL" London proofed on cylinder and frame with serial number on left side of frame. The tight scroll engraving covers most all of the frame, butt cap and trigger guard, The octagon barrel is engraved at muzzle on all flats. The cylinder is engraved in a 1/2" band through its full circumference. CONDITION, Superb with frame and barrel retaining over 95% bright nicked with brilliant bore and chambers. The cylinder retains over 80% nicked with one area of period of use flaking. The action operates properly and locks solidly. Marked on top strap with Manufrance monogram and further marked "No2" with barrel marked GAULOIS. Serial number found on underside of barrel as well as internally. Pistol is housed in the clamshell leather cigarette style carry case with additional partition for spare cartridges. Pistol is profusely engraved with full coverage of the receiver. The case is void of markings and remains its dark polished brown. CONDITION, Extremely fine with pistol retaining over 97% blue finish, Good bore and properly operating action. The squeezer retains most all of its vivid case colors. All markings remain crisp and legible. The leather cigarette case is very fine with a small internal stitching repair.
