Very fine as expertly restored with very good bore with some very light darkness. Action operates properly and locks solidly. Stocks are full sized with some period bruises. Optics are bright. SERIAL 110633. BARREL 24". CALIBER 8X60S MAUSER. This rifle features the rare built in factory tang sight that retracts into the wrist of the stock. This special order factory sight is so rare that Speeds book does not even have a picture of one, only the special order page of a catalog. Other features include double set triggers (working), round barrel with ramp front sight and three leaf rear sight. Walnut stock, checkered pistol grip with cap, Mauser banner gutta percha butt plate and a schnable forend. Standard blue factory finish with fire blue extractor. This rifle has a Hensoldt scope with heavy 3-line reticle on high claw mounts. Also has a hinged floor plate and fire blue bolt release. Comes with 3-boxes (60) rounds of Old Western Scrounger ammo. Condition. Superb, Minor high edge wear on trigger guard, minor handling on floor plate, 80% peacock blue on release, 97% blue on barrel with minor muzzle wear. Frame has few rubs on front bridge but still 95%. Wood is excellent with sharp checkering. Bore is mirror bright and with crisp action. C&R DB

Scalloped fences with matching numbers and water table marked "JOSEPH BRAZIER" And having Crown "V" proofs. Smooth steel butt plate with 14" LOP. Housed in n a leather travel trunk with TE Mortimer retailers label, 3 piece wiping rod and empty paper cartridges. CONDITION. Shotgun is extremely fine with most all case colors remaining. With lock marked "D, NIPPES " "MILL CREEK PA 1841" Metal finished in the bright with 3 barrel bands, socket bayonet lug at 6: O clock position of muzzle. One piece oil finished walnut stock with 2 crisp US Inspectors cartouches. Barrel marked at breech with "P" proof with "JH" inspections and tang dated 1842. These were the most prevalent arm of the early Civil War as many 1816 conversions were in State Arsenals at the onset of the war. SERIAL NUMBER N/A BARREL 39" CALIBER .58 RIM FIRE MANUFACTURED 1867-68. Using Model 1861 Rifle muskets William & George Miller of West Meriden Ct, converted approx 2000 rifle to their patented tilting breech chambered for .58 rimfire. Some of these conversions were adopted by the Maryland militia with a group being Sold to Schuyler Hartley & Gram. Most were later converted to a Cadet size and sold by Bannerman's in New York. This example remains full sized and used the Parkers-Snow & Co, Model 1861 musket. Interestingly Parkers Snow later became Parker Brothers of shotgun fame. CONDITION, Very good with full sized original stock with one repaired crack at barrel channel. Iron remains in the bright and action and extractor operate properly. All markings remain crisp and legible. Still retains its swelled 61 pattern loading / wiping rod and has a barrel tampion. ANTIQUE TDW

One of the most popular Cavalry carbines of the war. Blade front sight with 2 position folding rear sight. 2 piece oil finished walnut stocks with iron furniture and saddle bar and ring for Cavalry use. Serial numbered on breech and tilting block with inspectors cartouche on wrist. Confederate associated as marked with the "Z" marking below the rigger bow assembly. This "Z" is known to be the inspection from the Confederate arsenals at Richmond, Danville, Staunton and Lynchburg from the arms picked up and recovered and then reissued to Confederate troops. This information is well published in the outstanding book "CAPTURED & COLLECTED CONFEDERATE REISSUED FIREARMS" by Capt Steven Knott, CONDITION.
