Case color Frame with 2 piece hard rubber grips. ENGRAVING: This revolver was done by Master Engraver Howard Dove in 1983, It was the first single action Army revolver done by Mr. Dove. The Colt letter shows it was done on factory work order #10723. Under right side grip is signed Howard M. Dove Engr. Revolver is fitted into a French wooden case with Green interior, Comes with Colt Factory letter. CONDITION: Metal is 99% with no signs of use. The work is signed under the recoil shield "Shostle". Hand engraved foliate scroll work on frame, barrel, cylinder, ejector housing, back strap and trigger guard. Finished in high polish blue and case hardened frame. Double Gold bands located on barrel breech and rear of cylinder. 2 piece Ivory grips with Scrimshawed American Eagle on left panel. There is Gold inlaid line work and a high refief inlaid Bear's head on the backstrap. Placed in a deluxe French fitted case. CONDITION: Metal is 99% with ni signs of use or cylinder turn. Gun features brush blue military factory finish, built on New Service frame, smooth two piece walnut grips, lanyard loop in butt, "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" stamp under barrel, "US ARMY MODEL 1917" stamped on butt. CONDITION: eagle head proof on left side of frame and retaining a near mint bore and a solid 95% factory arsenal blue. The grips are starting to tone and there is a light drag line. Well cared for pre-WW1 Army revolver. Comes with moon clips C&R

According to the factory letter, this gun was part of a ten gun shipment sent on April 19, 1933 to H&D Folsom Arms in New York, a major Colt distributor who might have sent it anywhere in the US. It is a standard square butt pre war that features silver medallion checkered walnut grips, six shot, double action with checkered trigger and fixed sights with factory Colt blue finish. CONDITION: Aside from a ghost drag line, gun appears to have been test fired only retaining virtually all the original finish with possible handling mark. This gun is an iconic participant in the boot legging era and featured in many gangster films of the same time period. Worthy of an original box. C&R

COLT MODEL 1900 SIGHT SAFETY .38 AUTOMATIC PISTOL

SERIAL NUMBER: 2834. BARREL: 6". CALIBER: .38 RIMLESS AUTOMATIC. MANUFACTURED 1902. Colts first introduction to the world of autoloading pistols. The Model 1900 was a very limited production of 3500 pistols of this 250 were purchased by the US Army and the US Navy. The 7 shot magazines were nickel finished to prevent corrosion and the pistols had a very unique hammer block safety device that utilized the tilting of the rear sight, Known as the Sight safety. This device was later recalled by Colt and deactivated on most examples. #2834 is blue finished with 1st pattern smooth walnut grips, case color hammer and peacock blue trigger. Slide is serrated at the forward area and pistol is equipped with narrow blade front sight and case colored tilting rear sight safety. Nickel finished magazine is marked on base " PAT'T SEPT 9.1884" pistol is serial number on left side of frame and underside of slide at rear. CONDITION: Very good with over 75% blue finish remaining on frame with slide retaining 65% with mixture of blue and mottled patina. All markings are crisp and legible. A few small dents are visible from being disassembled at front frame pin. Grips are worn with left grip being cracked with slight material loss. Bore is good with very slight frosting in grooves. The action operates properly and the sight safety operates properly. A rare and desired early Colt Automatic and truly the first successful semiautomatic pistol ever offered from the United States. Action is perfect with a nr-mt bore. Legends including Colt's Frontier Six Shooter. The bore is sharp. Looks to be near - mint with very little residue on end of cylinder showing almost no use. Typical of these artillery revolvers, they were rebuilt in the 1890s using original cavalry revolvers; serviceable parts were reassembled and barrels shortened to 5 - 1/2", and subsequently reissued to Army troops in the Philippines at the turn of the century. Right side with "AUTOMATIC COLT / CALIBRE 45 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". External extractor. Rounded hammer. Frame with "626" serial number on left side, left side of trigger guard with "VP" proof and "W" proof. Checkered truncated diamond checkered walnut grips. Heel magazine release. Full blue magazine. CONDITION: Good, retaining approximately half of the Colt blue, with the majority retained on the frame. Slide is essentially patina with some flashes of blue and dove grey, and has a couple spots of pitting on left side. Some marks around pins and wedge from poor attempts at assembly/disassembly. Frame is very good with some handling marks throughout but appropriate distension around stamps. Grip straps basically patina. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with visible rifling and moderate even frosting. This is a good, early 1905. C&R

Right side of side with "AUTOMATIC COLT / CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS". Left side of trigger guard with "VP" proof and "1". Rear cocking serrations. Hammer with rounded spur (sometimes referred to as the stub hammer), lanyard loop mounted on left side of frame. High polish blue finish with nitre blue accents, case colored stub hammer. Colt hard rubber grips with central rampant Colt in a circle and "COLT" in banner across top. Blued 8 round magazine with heel release. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining the vast majority of the high polish finish with some scattered brown losses coming through, mostly visible on slide.
