One of the most noticeable & popular functional features is the side folding metal stock. This particular example is a textbook piece w/ its reddish brown plastic furniture, still in factory packaging as it left China. Stamped receiver. RARE KU P.08 LUGER ALL MATCHING 9MM

Lot # 195 (Sale Order: 205 of 592)

SERIAL NUMBER: 3222. BARREL: 3 7/8". CALIBER: 9MM. MANUFACTURED: 1941 NO RESERVE!! Here's a very interesting and rather scarce WWII Luger. This is a "Kü" marked P.08. These pistols are the subject of much conjecture. They were assembled using Mauser made parts but it is not known if they were actually assembled by Mauser or by an outside contractor. It is generally accepted that they were manufactured for the German Luftwaffe (air force) due to the "Eagle/LA" Luftwaffe acceptance proofs found on the receiver, barrel and breech block. The exact meaning of the Kü serial number prefix is still not clearly understood. Some believe it denotes "second quality" while others believe it may represent the facility that actually assembled the pistols. In any event, they are a scarce variation of the WWII Luger pistol with something less than 10,000 thought to have been manufactured. They differ from standard Mauser production in that they appear to use parts from different periods of manufacture...and are essentially "parts guns". It is believed that the Luftwaffe was having difficulty procuring the pistols it needed because the Army was taking the entire Mauser production and that the Kü pistols were assembled separate from standard production using available parts. This pistol is Blue finished steel, All matching serial numbers except for the magazine that is correct FXO over Eagle 37, base plate is unnumbered. Ramped blade style front sight and V notch Toggle rear sight. Grips are Brown Bakalite with checkering. CONDITION: Metal is 95% original finish with light edge wear and a few small freckling spots. Bore is Bright and grips are Excellent with wear on the Right grip panel. C&R

RARE EARLY MAUSER P08 THREE DIGET SERIAL NUMBER

Lot # 196 (Sale Order: 206 of 592)

SERIAL NUMBER: 262. BARREL: 3 7/8". CALIBER: 9MM. MANUFACTURED: 1934. This is a very rare example of an early "Sub Variation #1", (1934), K-date S/42 code, P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol. The (1934) K-date series of Lugers were the first true German Nazi/Army contract Luger pistols produced for the military. These early pistols had an extremely low survival rate as most saw extensive service in the early days of the Nazi regime and then on the Eastern Front where thousands of weapons were lost to the Russians. The sub-variation-1, K-date Lugers are found in the serial number range of 1-1700 out of the total estimated 10,930 K-date Luger pistols actually produced. These rare first sub-variations are identified by the early Script "S" markings on all the parts including the "S/42" markings. The chamber area has the standard script "K" mark, which was the secret wartime code intended to disguise the Nazi Germany rearmament efforts in 1934. It also has the noted script "S/42" on top of the front toggle. The full serial number "262" is located on the front of the frame, the left side of the receiver, the bottom of the barrel, and on the matching magazine base. A partial serial number "62" is present on the lock bolt, trigger, sear bar lever, side plate, sear bar spring, extractor, breech block, front and rear toggle links and the inside of both grips. They also are stamped with the correct early script "S" proof. All components bear the distinctive script "S". The German Army double boxed "O/37" acceptance proofs along with an early Mauser eagle firing proof are located on the right side of the barrel extension. The pistol has one matching type 1 army magazine with a nickel-plated body and aluminum base that is correctly stamped. Oral history states that their may have been some minor professional restoration work done in the past. CONDITION: Metal is 98% with light discoloring at the face of the muzzle. Bore is bright with crisp rifling. Wood checkered grips are Excellent. C&R

RARE DARDICK 1500 & TROUND INT'L MILITARY ARCHIVE

Lot # 199a (Sale Order: 210 of 592)

SERIAL NUMBER: 1147. BARREL: 6". CALIBER: .38. MANUFACTURED: LATE 1950s EARLY 1960s. This is a fantastic archive of the innovative David Dardick and his journey inven...moreting innovative firearms and his company Tround International working, with our armed forces, on cutting edge arms of the day. The consigner states that this revolver and collection documents are from the personal archives of David Dardick. In the archive: (1) Dardick model 1500 pistol. Discontinued in 1962, the Dardick combined a fixed in-grip magazine with a 3-chamber open sided cylinder to feed the proprietary "Tround", a triangular plastic cartridge. this design used a rotary chamber (like a revolver), but rather than containing closed chambers, used three longitudinal recesses. Each was open to one side. To fit their triangular shape, Dardick developed a special round: a triangular nylon jacket with rounded sides holding a metallic sleeve which contained a standard bullet, propellant and primer. The cartridges were fed from an integral grip magazine into the first recess, which rotated into the firing position and fired. It would then continue rotating until the spent casing fell out, allowing another round to be fed onto the rotor. CONDITION: used / worn, believed to be an "engineer's tinker" gun. C&R Dardick later adapted the Tround in many military projects and in drilling head applications through his company Tround International Inc.. Also in this archive is documentation on many military project engagements.
