CHE Grade double shotgun made by Parker Brothers Meriden, Connecticut in 1904. Blued "Titanic Steel" barrels with matted rib and bead front sight. No. 2 casehardened frame with ejectors, double triggers, and automatic safety. Perfect screws. Walnut checkered factory English style straight grip stock with added Pachmayer vented rubber recoil pad. Walnut checkered non-factory beavertail forearm with latch release. CONDITION: 90% plus of an old refinish (most likely Del Grego) with light handling marks. Stock has added pad with stock cut enough to add pad. 90% vivid case colors with 90% plus varnish and sharp checkering. Mirror bores with good mechanics except opening lever spring seems a little weak. A nice restored CHE Grade with options. GHE Grade double barrel shotgun made by Parker Brothers in Meriden, Connecticut in 1929. Blued "Parker Special Steel Barrels" with matted rib, twin bead sights and ejectors. No. 1-1/2 casehardened frame with bird and floral engraving, double triggers, and non-automatic safety. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with reproduction "Hawkins" rubber recoil pad. Walnut splinter forearm with latch release. CONDITION: 90% barrel blue of an old refinish with some blemishing in front of forearm and some nicks on right breech. Barrels have three holes drilled on underside of rib covered by the forearm ( possibly from rib repair). Barrels ring nicely and are solid. Action retains 70% case colors with balance fading to a silvery patina. Stock retains 70% original finish with checkering having been cleaned. Action locks up tight with slight hinge wear when open. Lever right of center. Mirror bores. Good mechanics. Churchill information and address on barrels. Barrel flats with British London proof marks. Beavertail forearm with Anson release, interior of iron with serial number. Forearm checkered in point pattern, with two engraved diamonds, exterior of iron with engraved scroll. Sidelock action with cocking indicators, stocked to the fences, with concealed lumps under floorplate. Miller single selective trigger. Action profusely engraved with tight scroll, both sides with "EJ CHURCHILL" in ribbon, underside with "PREMIER / XXV / MODEL" inlaid in gold in a reserve with flanking "FINEST QUALITY". Automatic safety with "SAFE" inlaid in gold. Teardrop sidepanels. Prince of Wales grip with two panels of point pattern checkering. Added White Line recoil pad. Housed in a canvas wrapped case with brass plaque on lid reading "JJC", possibly a previous owner, and added strip of tape on front identifying gun. Reproduction Churchill paper label in lid with accessories comprising 2 piece cleaning rod, mop, and brush. CONDITION: Barrels retain most of a good quality rebluing that has softened legends and matting somewhat, with some age speckling throughout. Forearm is very good, with some abrasions to checkering and possibly refinished. Action is very good, with some age related staining, right plate is slightly askew indicating possible removal and reattachment. Cocking indicators, automatic safety. Sidepanels converge to a point. Pistol grip stock checkered at wrist with metal grip cap engraved with geometrics. Sling swivel at toe. Horn buttplate. Splinter flatbottom forearm with Anson release with scroll at relaese, point pattern checkering with diamond engraved en suite, and exterior of iron engraved en suite. Forearm engraved with serial number. Boxlock action with "E.J. Churchill" gold inlaid in ribbons on both sides of action. Serial number engraved on action flats with Birmingham proof. Scroll engraving throughoutl Blued floorplate, trigger guard, and opening lever. Automatic safety. Double triggers. English straight grip stock with point pattern checkering at wrist. Straight grain stock with serrated butt. Housed in a canvas wrapped case with wine colored interior lining and accessories comprising mop, brush, cloth head, snap cap, spent shell inteded for use as a snapcap, and 3 part cleaning rod. Trade label in lid. CONDITION: Very good as partially reconditioned; Barrels retain virtually all of a best quality reblue with a few very minor marks from handling and operation. Forearm is very good with a few minor marks from handling and operation with a minor chip in checkering. Extra layer of varnish has been added at one point. Action has been faded to a pewter grey with case coloring having almost completely faded with only the barest flashes visible in the most protected areas. Opening lever, trigger guard, and tang with a best quality reblue with a few minor marks. Stock is very good with a few minor marks from handling and operation throughout and one very small very tight crack behind the tang. Checkering is sharp. Ejectors are in time and bores are very good. Case is very good, exterior essentially black, accessories very good with some marks from use. Lining has a few tears in it. Trade label a replacement. Lined floral borders at breeches with tight scroll over breech. Barrel flats with original 2 - 1/2" 16 gauge proof and later 2 - 3/4" 16 gauge reproof. Chokes are Improved Modified and Modified. Small splinter tip forend with Anson style push button release engraved with scroll and bordering. Checkered in point pattern with central un-checkered diamond with escutcheon engraved with florals. Exterior iron engraved with scrolls. Interior with serial number. Sidelock action engraved with bordered engraving that has sprigs of scroll and scattered sprigs of scroll on lockplates. Both plates signed "THOMAS BLAND & SONS". Bottom plate also engraved with scrolls. Double triggers. Trigger guard also engraved with scrolls. Automatic safety. Classic dropoints behind locks. Forend is very good, with exterior metal polished, resulting in a softening to engraving; wood is very good with a few very minor marks. Circa 1984. A matched pair of Model 557 game guns with blued steel 27" chopper lump barrels. Barrels have 2-3/4" chambers, narrow Churchill styled game type ribs with steel round front bead sights and auto ejectors. The tops of the right barrels read "FCA. DE ESCOPETAS ARRIETA - ELGOIBAR (ESPANA). Chokes in A/1 are Modified and Improved Cylinder and in B/2 Modified and Improved Cylinder. Both guns with cast-off European walnut stocks with fine line checkered diamond semi-pistol grips and black "KICK-EEZ" pads. Forearms are splintered and numbered "1" and "2" in gold just beneath the Anson styled push-button releases. Holland & Holland styled sidelock actions on the pair with gas escape ports, disc set strikers, non-auto safe, "S" in gold, blued single mechanical triggers, and blued cast-off rolled edge trigger guards. The faintly case colored actions are engraved with scroll and have a medium gray patina. Lockplates are engraved "ARRIETA Y CO". Bottom actions have same scrollwork in triangles and have two pheasants standing in a field. The guns come in a double French fitted leather case. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain approximately 70% blue remaining. Both barrels have freckling, handling, and usage marks. Stocks both have numerous handling and usage marks. They both also show signs of usage and age around lockplates. Forend on the number one gun is good with some slight signs of usage to wood and hardware. Forend number two has a bit of visible wear from usage and around its hardware. Actions and other metal hardware have lost case colors and are now at approximately 30%. Trigger guards with some signs of usage and wear. Case very good with some storage marks. Circa 1984. A matched pair of Model 557 game guns with blued steel 27" chopper lump barrels. Barrels have 2-3/4" chambers, narrow Churchill styled game type ribs with ste...moreel round front bead sights and auto ejectors. The tops of the right barrels read "FCA. DE ESCOPETAS ARRIETA - ELGOIBAR (ESPANA). Chokes in A/1 are Modified and Improved Cylinder and in B/2 Modified and Improved Cylinder. Both guns with cast-off European walnut stocks with fine line checkered diamond semi-pistol grips and black "KICK-EEZ" pads. Forearms are splintered and numbered "1" and "2" in gold just beneath the Anson styled push-button releases. Holland & Holland styled sidelock actions on the pair with gas escape ports, disc set strikers, non-auto safe, "S" in gold, blued single mechanical triggers, and blued cast-off rolled edge trigger guards. The faintly case colored actions are engraved with scroll and have a medium gray patina. Lockplates are engraved "ARRIETA Y CO". Bottom actions have same scrollwork in triangles and have two pheasants standing in a field. The guns come in a double French fitted leather case. CONDITION: Good. Barrels retain approximately 70% blue remaining. Both barrels have freckling, handling, and usage marks. Stocks both have numerous handling and usage marks. They both also show signs of usage and age around lockplates. Forend on the number one gun is good with some slight signs of usage to wood and hardware. Forend number two has a bit of visible wear from usage and around its hardware. Actions and other metal hardware have lost case colors and are now at approximately 30%. Trigger guards with some signs of usage and wear. Case very good with some storage marks. Ribs read "THE ROYAL" in script. Left barrel reads "HOLLAND & HOLLAND". Right barrel reads "13, BRUTON STREET, LONDON". The semi plum brown barrels are fitted with ejectors and Holland & Holland's patented self-opening mechanism. London proved in 1978. All choked Modified & Modified (1/2 & 1/2). The smoky exhibition grade French walnut stocks are built with diamond English straight hand grips, drop points, ovals with initials (EA), and checkered butts. Matching splinter forends with checkered and engraved Anson styled push button releases have gold numbers "1" and "2" just below on their escutcheons. Forends also have matching Royal Scroll engraved forend iron. Underside of barrels engraved with "Siemens Martin Steel" and stamped with serial. Barrel flats with Belgian 1969 proofs for 20 gauge 3" chambers. Light bordered engraving at breech. Splinter forearm with Anson release engraved with scroll. Exterior of iron engraved en suite. Forearm checkered in point pattern with vacant diamond in center. Interior with serial number. Case colored sidelock action with well executed tight scroll engraving in a style after English rose and scroll but devoid of florals. Signed on floorplate by Lyson Corumbelle. Bushed strikers, cocking indicators, and a single non selective trigger with an automatic safety ("S" inlaid in gold). Classic rounded teardrops behind action. Very attractive wavy marbled and light fiddlebacked English straight grip stock with point pattern flat top borderless checkering through wrist, which terminates in a checkered butt. Long trigger guard tang with serial number. Vacant gold oval along belly. Housed in a brown leather case with accessories comprising 2 snap caps, oil bottle, a 2 piece cleaning rod and Francotte label in lid. When this gun sold as Lot 2403 in James D. Julia's March 2016 sale, it is referenced as having been special ordered and received by Abercrombie and Fitch in 1970, and that it was made as a copy of a Boss .410, serial number 9374, which was also sold by Julia's in October 2015; this paperwork is not included in this lot. CONDITION: Very fine, showing very little evidence of actual use. Barrels retain virtually all of their blue with a few very minor handling marks, most noticeable with two pings at matting. Action retains virtually all of the case color which is vibrant and attractive with a few very minor marks. Wood in commensurate condition with just a few minor marks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are excellent. Ejectors are in time. Case is very good with some scuffs and rubs in the leather. Label has glue coming off the edges, from when it was placed in lid. Underside of barrels engraved with "Siemens Martin Steel" and stamped with serial. Barrel flats with Belgian 1969 proofs for 20 gauge 3" chambers. Light bordered engraving at breech. Splinter forearm with Anson release engraved with scroll. Exterior of iron engraved en suite. Forearm checkered in point pattern with vacant diamond in center. Interior with serial number. Case colored sidelock action with well executed tight scroll engraving in a style after English rose and scroll but devoid of florals. Signed on floorplate by Lyson Corumbelle. Bushed strikers, cocking indicators, and a single non selective trigger with an automatic safety ("S" inlaid in gold). Classic rounded teardrops behind action. Very attractive wavy marbled and light fiddlebacked English straight grip stock with point pattern flat top borderless checkering through wrist, which terminates in a checkered butt. Long trigger guard tang with serial number. Vacant gold oval along belly. Housed in a brown leather case with accessories comprising 2 snap caps, oil bottle, a 2 piece cleaning rod and Francotte label in lid. When this gun sold as Lot 2403 in James D. Julia's March 2016 sale, it is referenced as having been special ordered and received by Abercrombie and Fitch in 1970, and that it was made as a copy of a Boss .410, serial number 9374, which was also sold by Julia's in October 2015; this paperwork is not included in this lot. CONDITION: Very fine, showing very little evidence of actual use. Barrels retain virtually all of their blue with a few very minor handling marks, most noticeable with two pings at matting. Action retains virtually all of the case color which is vibrant and attractive with a few very minor marks. Wood in commensurate condition with just a few minor marks. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are excellent. Ejectors are in time. Case is very good with some scuffs and rubs in the leather. Label has glue coming off the edges, from when it was placed in lid. Circa 2007. This exquisite, near mint, 28 gauge round bodied game gun exhibiting tasteful decoration and top quality workmanship throughout, has blacked, bright 30" steel barrels. These barrels are fitted with 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, concealed third fastener, smooth concave game rib, and round brass front bead sight. Inlaid in gold on the rib reads "KRIEGHOFF" and engraved "Made in Germany". Breech ends of barrels are engraved with 1-1/2" triangles of scrolled acanthus. Barrel flats are stamped with German nitro proofs. Sleek, small frame rounded case hardened action with long back action sidelocks, features automatic safety, gold-plated double triggers (front articulated), bushed strikers, third fastener, raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, auto safe, "S" in gold, and gold-plated internals. Action and lockplates are engraved with striking, exceptionally well cut and laid out, semi-relief, large, flowing, scrolled acanthus with stippled shaded background. Bottom of action has "Essencia" inlaid in gold on arched riband. Fences are carved with near full relief acanthus. Blued, double beaded acanthus engraved trigger guard with long bottom strap has Serial Number at grip. The 1/8" cast off, spectacular, black marble veined, reddish toned European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 7/8" over checkered wood butt. Serial Number is engraved on bottom of right barrel, and “BSA Millbrook, N.Y.” (importer) is engraved on splinter. Small boxlock action features automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold) and double triggers. Action is engraved with a mixture of large shaded scroll with acanthus finials transitioning to small simple scroll. Fences are deep relief carved in multi cinquefoil pattern. Purdey & Sons" and top of right barrel engraved "Audley House, South Audley Street, London, England". JA stamp on bottom left tube for J. Aldous, barrel maker. The barrel flats have London Proof Marks. Classic Purdey sidelock ejector utilizing the Beesley self-opening action with vintage case color finish and engraved in well cut English rose and scroll pattern; James Purdy & Sons on both lockplates. Sidelock pins are gold washed. Underside of receiver with "J. Purdey & Sons, London, England". Disc set strikers, cocking indicating pins. Double triggers in a flat profile trigger guard. Auto safe with "SAFE" inlaid in gold. Nicely streaked European walnut stock with English style straight hand grip, classic drop points behind action, checkered butt, cast approximately 1/2" off and blank stock oval. Splinter forend with Anson push button style release with point pattern checkering. "R" on forend iron indicating the actioner. Housed in canvas case with leather tablet on lid "T. H. McGRAIL" and accessories comprising of cleaning rod, mop, brush, jag, pair of nickel Abercrombie and Fitch snap caps, square nickel oil bottle. CONDITION: Very Good. Barrels with a high quality old reblack are very good with some normal minor handling marks. Barrels are slightly off face, mostly noticeable when forend is removed. Forend checkering original, wrist checkering recut. One noticeable mark on left side of stock near comb amongst other normal minor marks.
