Features a pistol grip that is finely hand checkered, heavy nickel plated buttplate, rollover cheekpiece, pistol grip cap, and ebony inserts on both sides of wrist at frame. CONDITION: Excellent, ready to install. (B) 28" heavy octagon barrel stamped "Old Reliable" in box as well as "Sharps Rifle Co. Bridgeport, Conn". Has both sight slot cuts and locking hole. Threads are fine. Underside of barrel is serial number 18015. Bore measures .40. Side of barrel is stamped "Cal. 40 2-1/2". CONDITION: Has a really nice sharp bore with strong rifling but lands are frosted. All you need is a frame and forend and you can build a Sharps or use to fix your old Sharps. Dimensions: Largest: 28" x 1 - 1/2" x 1 - 1/2".

F.A. MEANEA CIRCA 1890 HOLSTER FOR COLT SAA.

One of the most famous saddle makers of the nineteenth century. This holster is maker stamped on bottom loop. It is very faint but you can read the FA and A at end along with Cheyenne Wyo. It is a double loop style with contoured locking body, full skirt and is border tooled with florette at top. Throat has not been trimmed. CONDITION: Excellent, made of quality leather with great patina and normal wear. Excellent condition circa 1880-90's holster.

This incredible piece features a diecut 3D hand holding an original two piece shotshell box with brilliant shades of orange and cartridges with a manila matte is a mission oak frame. Frame is impressed with gold fill; top reads "KYNOCH" and bottom "AMMUNITION". Dates to the turn of the last century. Cardboard ad measures 13" x 22" and is framed to 27". CONDITION: Aside from some age toning on the off-white background, the poster is brilliant and the 3D hand is eye-popping. Frame has some separation on the corners and the usual few dings, nicks, and paint specks; could easily be cleaned up and would be a unique and stunning addition to your gun room. Dimensions: 27" W x 31" T.

An interesting pistol, but clearly not the John Guest, Lancaster, PA, 1807-1808 contract flintlock, as that pistol resembles the pistol by Henry. The Guest pistols have Drepert lock, Drepert being spelled with one P, and marked at rear US. Drepert, also known as Dreppert, was a lock master in Lancaster. Unmarked round barrel with medium barrel throughout. Lock marked Dreppert. Cock from a British sea-service pistol. Loop butt, brass furniture of Kentucky style. CONDITION: Walnut full stock cracked through at ramrod pipe. Missing ramrod. Action is crisp, gun is original flint. One frizzen spring screw appears to be replaced. Type crack at rear of lock. Standard model 1816 pistol as produced by Simeon North in Connecticut. Original flint. Cartouched on left side of stock. Marked on the top of the barrel "S. CAROLINA". CONDITION: Metal surfaces were cleaned at some point in the past. Light pitting. Markings are worn but legible. The lock has a couple extra holes in it from a replacement mainspring and frizzen spring. Some of the internal lock parts are most likely replacements as well. Bore has light rust and pitting. (A) A RARE 1808 PERIOD JOSEPH HENRY CONTRACT, SECONDARY US MARTIAL FLINTLOCK PISTOL.

Lot # 2292 (Sale Order: 292 of 900)      

Pistol conforms to Flayderman specification. Round barrel has remnants of a single P in an oval proof and no other markings. The lock is simply stamped J. HENRY. Pinned walnut full stock of standard configuration, as are simple brass trigger guard and butt cap. Pistol has long belt hook, which appears to be period, indicating possible naval use. CONDITION: Barrel is smooth over minor pitting. Lock is clean, hammer appears to have all original small parts. Touch hole shows no pitting, possibly indicative of a reconversion; however, pan, frizzen, and hammer show pitting consistent with original flintlock. Ramrod is a modern replacement. Stock is good, with no significant damage and showing an old cleaning now assuming an attractive hand-worn patina. Action is good. Bore is fair. From the Robert Sadler Collection. Pistol conforms to Flayderman specification. Round barrel has remnants of a single P in an oval proof and no other markings. The lock is simply stamped J. HENRY. Pinned w...morealnut full stock of standard configuration, as are simple brass trigger guard and butt cap. Pistol has long belt hook, which appears to be period, indicating possible naval use. CONDITION: Barrel is smooth over minor pitting. Lock is clean, hammer appears to have all original small parts. Touch hole shows no pitting, possibly indicative of a reconversion; however, pan, frizzen, and hammer show pitting consistent with original flintlock. Ramrod is a modern replacement. Stock with vestiges of cartouche obscured by old varnish. CONDITION: Barrel polished bright over pits, more evident at touch hole. Lock is good with minor surface rust. Pan is dented. Mounts are polished over old minor pitting. Stock with some wear but no significant damage or breaks. Exhibits coat of old varnish. Mainspring is slightly weak but stays on cock. According to Doug Eberhart, these pistols were made by Gillespie of New York and sold by a hardware store by the name of Haws & Waggoner, which was located in Columbia, South Carolina. Of standard Philadelphia Deringer form with engraved German silver mounts. The hammer is engraved, as is lock. Back action lock with German silver tear drop inlay. Checkered full stock, pineapple finials holding barrel wedge. Research in Stockell, Sellers, and internet reveals no record of "Haws and Waggoner." Further research is dictated by the fortunate purchaser of this interesting Philadelphia style Deringer. CONDITION: Action functions. Rifled bore is fair. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
